Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Today, 3/3/10
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening: Charles Rangel was fiip-flopping to remain.
Seg#1: C. Rangel leaves chairmanship to keep Democrats pure
Now he says he will temporarily step down to maintain 'Ethics' among legislative Democrats. Too late for that Chuckie. Obama will announce on ObamaCare nuclear option.
They were to announce this morning but now it is put off
to this afternoon. C. Rangel took up all of the oxygen this AM.
Congressional Black Caucus wants Nancy Pelosi to go down further in the line of command to replace him, down to Black congressman John Lewis.
Why is everybody upset with JFK Airport, "bring your kid to work"? ((Clip-pilot: Wish I could bring my kid to work. Adios, Amigos!)) So you have some kid with no experience, no knowledge, just a kid. We have a 45-yr-old directing the country with no more experience and knowledge. Furloughs are over since Jim Bunning ended his filibuster. Those workers had to take a day off, with pay; it is tough out there.
((Reading: We got the Economy back on its feet now that Transportation Dpt can go back to work. Jobs will be created.)) I thought that was Obama's area.
Enough talk has gone on; it is time for Republicans to stand up; stand by the Constitution like Jim Bunning. Ignore the media. Republicans should not be "embarrassed" by the guy. We are running a $1.5trillion deficit with a debt of $13trillion to $14trillion, getting only worse.
Greece is also increasing sales tax from 19% to 21%. Etc. You see how they do this? They make it so dire the only answer in their Liberal minds is more taxation. And the upped taxes will not bring in more revenue.
You people are going to have to endure pain to perpetuate AGW Hoax:
http://dotEarth.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/02/fuel-taxes-must-rise-harvard-researchers-say/ By 2020 $7/gal gasoline will be rammed down. They do not care about your reaction.
TX governor Rick Perry is reelected yesterday, defeating Kay Bailey Hutchinson. He rallied Conservatives. ((Reading Reuters)) If Reuters thinks this is "anti-Washington" this was just the primary. They were both Conservative Republicans. Gov Perry had the backing of Sarah Palin; Senator Hutchinson had the backing of the NRC in Washington. Others backing Kay Bailey Hutchinson were Bush, Rove, and party loyalists.
>>> This shows (again) the strength of the Conservative Movement.
S#2: Do you want to be dependent on Big Government? ObamaNation?
From ABCnews ((Reading: Just days after his medical examination, President Obama stopped by a southern restaurant and said to not tell Michelle.)) Well, stop nagging us about our lives.
Caller: $7/gal for gas in large cities is OK; but not for us in mid-America.
You are asking for the CornHuskerKickBack like Senator Nelson, R-NE. I understand your point to Leftists: "You want it? You got it." Yes, they have mass transit. We have learned that $4/gal is the American people tipping point. The Harvard study is all based on the Hoax of Global Warming. It would limit freedom. This is where we are headed with this administration.
>>> Limiting mobility would limit freedom creating gov't dependency.
Segment#3: Ascendancy of Conservatism
Russia had a 1990s Aeroflot airline disaster killing 200 passengers when a 15-yr-old son was given the control — so Dad could drink some Vodka. Kid made a turn the aircraft could not recover from. Another similarity to Obama.
Had the JFK traffic controller brought his daughter in there,
NAGs and DbM would have loved it.
Caller-TX: We have a different mentality here. Jobs are created. Bumper stickers want "The Republic of Texas" to come back.
I've been there: being a Texan is a state of mind. Cap and Tax is not about saving the planet but to redistribute your wealth.
Caller-TX: I pulled the lever for Rick Perry. I love Kay Bailey but didn't want someone coming from Washington to run our state. Think of grandkids. The Alamo is a great place to remember 184 who gave lives for our freedom.
I was in Texas and Washington Republicans tried to warn me to not have a photo with Governor Perry. I don't indorse in primaries anyway. Tells you something about [our GOP leadership.] There is an Ascendancy of Conservatism and [we] will be heard. They will not be able to ignore us.
Caller-CA-Nurse: Obesity rates for children is done by school nurses and the county health offices collect the data.
So you are telling me that Michelle Obama could find accurate data? How obese are the nurses that are judging child obesity?
>>> Be right back; more analysis; hosted by me.
Seg#4: Marxists like Obama destroy Capitalism to redistribute wealth
Remember Knute the cute little polar bear in a zoo, mother died. Animal activists wanted it killed. Now that Knute is grown and mean, they want Knute castrated to avoid incest with his cousin. If it is good enough for FDR, is it not good enough for Knute? Does he even know that he is a polar bear? Cut FDR some slack because he may never have had sex with Eleanor. Was Hillary Bill's fifth cousin — they channeled the former couple. Don't they inbred show dogs.
This is what Liberal Leftists always want to do with independent males.
Caller-WV: John Maynard Keynes was a Marxist. People should notice.
If you want to know what Keynesian Economics is: you are living it! ObamaNation is not intended to save our system of capitalism. Under FDR, we came close to Socialism (or whatever you want to call it) but WW II came along and screwed it up. We came very close.
>>> Marxists like Obama wants to redistribute your wealth.
CF: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neo-Keynesian_economics by John M. Keynes
(Theme Music) Factions of Democrats bring real war and trouble in Camelot. Media is not reporting it. Didn't Tavis Smiley used to have a radio show? He is on PBS now. He is mad that Obama does not have a Black agenda to help the brothers. Jessie Jackson says, "Shut up! We are getting it without people noticing." It's funny.
Then we have Nancy Pelosi asking Democrats to go under the bus to pass ObamaCare. C.Rangel has to step down; and Obama and Rahm Emanuel are going at it, some say. I'm in a good mood; we move on here.
Patrick McHenry wants to put Ronald Reagan's portrait on the $50 bill. Ulysses S. Grant is there now. Brad Grant D-CA says our currency is something that should unite us. Ulysses S. Grant was right above Sherman in pleasing the South. On the other side of the coin, Reagan only won 49 states.
"If only Obama had listened to Rahm, he wouldn't be losing."
Have you ever heard media say that before about POTUS?
Apr 25 2005 ((Clip-Obama: Change in the Senate rules would change the Senate forever. We have two houses in Congress. [Consider] what the Founders intended.)) So now? "Remember the rights of the minority", and where is that cry now? ((Clip-Obama: You need 60 votes to make something happen. Do we have the will to move [legislation] forward.)) ((Clip-Obama: This big ticket items, one argument I get from progressives and blogs, we should operate like Karl Rove, but he doesn't believe in gov't. If we are going to transform the country, you need 60 votes in the Senate.)) ((Clip-Obama: Question is, 'Who can get it done?' We are going to need 60 vote Majority in the Senate.)) Obama was saying it was necessary.
Now, rules don't matter to Democrats. ((Clip-Obama: We are not going to pass Healthcare with a 51 vote. Etc.)) All of this is in the context of wailing and moaning against Republicans that didn't have a 60 vote Majority.
Obama couldn't unite Democrats for ObamaCare with his super-majority.
>>> He can't get this done unless he blows up the rules he supported.
Seg#7: Is it only a rhetorical question to ask "Who is this guy Obama?"
I apologize: for playing Obama's words. I feel horrible. They were never meant to be taken seriously. [serious satire.]
House will first pass the Senate bill; none of these guy want to fall on the sword and go first. The House wants the Senate to go first. Tom Harkin made the comment in the office of Harry Reid. I'm sure I'm right. That would mean the Senate would be forced to pass by 51 votes their own bill, including CornHusker Kickback and Louisiana Purchase. Whatever Obama will say in an hour will be total nonsense. Remember how they had doctors and nurses behind him as a prop before? They forgot to give them the white lab coats.
He will say that bureaucrats should have control over healthcare. He wants that control. He is going to lie like Saul Alinsky taught him. We will paint insurance companies as villains.
We are debating a premise that does not exist: Obama's plan.
He has no experience but he will wipe out insurance companies and turn everything over to gov't. Who holds government to account? Who the heck is this guy to devise the system? What has he ever done? He gets nagged by his wife over cholesterol.
>>>>> >>>> >>> >> > Who is this guy?
Seg#8: You are watching freedoms evaporate right before your eyes
We'll JIP part of Obama's speech, but not all of it. The lab coats are filing in. Is there anybody on a stretcher? He will empower one bureaucrat, himself. He will say it empowers 'best' ideas of both Democrats and Republicans.
Here are two of the four items Republicans are said to want:
1. Medical malpractice tort reform — does not require ObamaCare.
2. Waste, Fraud, and Abuse — this is a Republican-only idea?
Caller: Hypocrite? Senate passed it already with 60 votes.
One bill, and one bill only gets passed;
And then Senate and House start working together; fun starts then.
Stacey, they don't have the votes unless they rewrite the rules.
You are watching your freedom evaporate before your eyes,
>>> and you call here to argue about the rules.
Segment#9: Your single-bureaucrat can read the T.O.T.U.S.
They breathlessly await Dr Obama to arrive. Ultimate irony to use 51 vote budget reconciliation is it was intended to lower the Budget. Many of you hate your HMO. Guess who gave you the HMO(?) The same people who want to do this now. Obama is a compulsive liar.
Caller-IN: Gas at $7/gal will put us in SUV business, out of business.
What's new? Millions more out of work; killing it for sure.
Eggheads at Harvard want this to happen. Clinton had this idea too.
Europeans [EU] are pikers compared to these guys and what they want to do.
[[JIP-Obama-entering-to-a-standard-ovation: Standing behind me: physicians, nurses, and nurse assistants. [Recognize] Kathleen Sebelius, and our quarterback out of the White House, Nancy [Who?]
Rush: The closed caption people don't know who she is . . .
[[JIP-on-Obama: this debate kicked off with a summit a year ago; everything that can be said has been said, and many have said it [laughter] It is time to decide. [Rush is talking along.] Who can pay, and who can't. That is the system we have now.]]
Rush is countering every sentence of POTUS/TOTUS.
Obama: Question is, "What do we do about it?"
Rush: Get rid of you!
>>> I've had enough Saul Alinsky; I didn't even need this much.
S#10: I've listened further: every line is a bold-faced lie. Need analysis?
Seg#11: Sign up for Heritage Foundation for $25/yr to Obama Analysis
(Music) The audacity, "Everything on healthcare has been said." "The debate is settled." This, after the American people said, "Hell NO!" if the debate in the House and the debate in the Senate are both over, then why don't we have a healthcare reform bill for him to sign?
He demanded that the rule he is about to break, never be broken.
I have never heard healthcare reform ever presented in a rosier fashion. Question is: will anyone believe it? Are we headed to a doctor's union. Everything he said was an out and out lie.
Did you count the number of times Reid or Pelosi said, "We have the votes; we can get the votes." Watch also the PayGo and the Jobs Bill. Extending the first time did affect jobs, unemployment went up. Tune in Heritage Foundation. Within hours today or tomorrow, brainiacs will tear down this speech, word by word, lie by lie. They will also add free market ideas on proper directions.
Tomorrow, it will he Hiroshima Time; he thinks it is nuclear time, watch out. There is funny stuff in the speech too. He talks about the latest summit and state grants for medical malpractice tort reform. What is that?
Then he credits Republicans for opposing Fraud and Waste. Does that mean that if Republicans hadn't brought that up, there would still be fraud and abuse in ObamaCare?
The grass roots leader Anabelle Park of Coffee Party was an operative in the Obama Campaign. Just do a search on the web. "United for Obama, YouTube" was her baby. The Tea Party is really bugging them and every phony response is paid and directed by [nutty Leftists].
Ford outsold them all. General Motors has to recall 3million and they blame the same suppliers of steering as Toyota.
>>> Will the American people ever get what they really want?
Seg#12: Why do Democrats lie when they know they are lying?
Previously, Obama says Bush got major plans done without 60 votes. Dingy Reid said, "Nobody is talking about reconciliation." These Democrats lie! They simply don't care and will lie about anything. They know buddies in the media will not check the garbage and will go along.
Caller: Tax into prosperity? Can't work. They think they can?
This is my problem: nobody is this stupid, after 14 months of destruction. It is their purposeful ideology. They are not saying that. This is not about improving healthcare in America because improvement is not proposed.
What do we know about Obama? We don't know what his grades are. We know who his associates were and are. He was totally the least vetted. Some of us found out enough to oppose. Obama was brought up and educated to not like this country. (We create poverty around the world; we send our military to murder around the world; rich in America has stolen it from union workers. By golly, by God: it is payback time now. And all of you have to get your mindset right.)
That is the mindset of his minister; it is the mindset of his friend Farrakhan. It's the mindset of half the union members, if not more. It is the mindset of many of Obama's professors at Harvard; (same w/your kids in college); and Obama's main influence was Frank Marshall Davis.
He also hated this country, an avowed Marxist and Communist.
He hated this country while living in Hawaii, go figure.
Caller: What recourse will citizens have if it pushes through.
People in Washington don't understand the anger against "In-Your-Face" governance. Tom Coburn sees that rolling back big pieces of legislation like this is really hard. He didn't say why, but have you ever seen a major gov't program rolled back?
Caller: I feel helpless other than by voting; rammed down.
I am not convinced they can get it done. Has to be resistance.
>>>>>>> I believe they are nowhere near getting it done.
Seg#13: House will get the Senate bill to work on
Caller-IA: House Bill, HR-3200 ? www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text
Tom Harkin told Politico that they plan to go the 51-vote route in Senate:
After the House passes the Senate text, the House can then add to it. It will be a bloody process and take time. Republicans congressmen will be able to put thumbtacks in the road.
Caller: Rick Santorum said they can only add amendment after amendment after amendment. That would be the only way to slow it down.
So may talking heads and pundits said, "We will never do 51 vote reconciliation, no we would never do that." And now, this is where we are.
I'm going on what Tom Harkin told Politico. The House first passes the Senate bill; then it goes back to the Senate again and working it out begins. There is distrust between the House and Senate. The House took the heat for passing first last time. They were criticized by the public.
History now is that you had House and Senate bills
that could not be 'conferenced'. Now MA Scott Brown is there.
The House passed every Communist idea Obama wanted;
The Senate tried to do the same thing;
Some republicans like Olympia Snow said, "No way."
Now they have to go back again to the Senate with a compromise.
Blanche Lincoln and others said, "No single-payer"
Obama goes ahead and says, "We are going to do it."
The Senate bill doesn't have half of what Obama said today.
Here's the trick: the house has to trust the Senate.
Nancy Pelosi will rubber-stamp the Senate version w/o Public Option.
What is the Senate bill become the House bill.
Then it goes back to Senate where 51 votes per amendment are needed.
It is a clear violation of Senate rules.
>>> When you hear it is the House bill being reconciled,
>>>>>> it is really the Senate bill that has been sent over.
Seg#14: The American people could become gov't dependent
More troubles in NY with Democrats: Eric Massa won't seek reelection.
Could this be one less vote for Pelosi? He'll hang in there.
Caller: Could Republicans repeal this after Elections?
By definition, an entitlement can't be touched.
There will be ObamaCare kicking in before the taxation.
I'll find out more at the Club For Growth mtg here in FL this week.
>>> It will be very hard to roll it back after people get freebies.
People will become dependent by time taxes start.
So-called 'benefits/spending' start immediately; taxation in five years.
Seg#15: Rush may still be right about Republicans at Summit.
Closing: Sullivan Group suspends (99.5% right) audit till April.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Heat"
Last week, Senator Jim Bunning, Kentucky Republican, objected to a last-minute $10 billion bill that included yet another round of unemployment benefits, and funding for highway and transit programs. Since then, Bunning has been demonized by the White House, by Democrats, by union thugs, and the State-Controlled Media for putting people out of work and being coldhearted to the unemployed.
Now, what Bunning actually did was expose a Democrat lie. On the Senate floor, he explained that he is for extending unemployment benefits, and health benefits, and flood insurance, and highway funding, and small business loans, and a host of other goodies tucked in the bill. His only demand is that all that be paid for.
Recently, President Obama made a big show of Democrats passing a paygo bill. Claiming to be fiscally responsible, they promised that any new spending programs would be paid for with money cut elsewhere in the federal budget, but this new $10 billion bill has no such offsets. So Senator Bunning put their lie under a bright spotlight of truth.
Rather than excoriate Bunning, the State-Controlled Media should investigate why, with over $1 trillion in stimulus money and pork earmarked for "shovel-ready projects," the Department of Transportation has laid off over 2,000 federal highway workers waiting for money from yet another pork-infested bill.
I mean, if anybody deserves to be taking heat, it isn't the one senator demanding fiscal accountability -- it's all of those who aren't.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"If Obama treated the post office like everything else, he'd propose adding Sunday delivery and then adding 30 million new customers."
"I want to know where all the Republicans are backing up and defending Jim Bunning. He is articulating the number one, or at least it's in the top five, Republican campaign issues this November. Where are they?"
"Look at this program as a classroom, ladies and gentlemen. Look at me as not a professor, but as a teacher, and ask yourself how much does it cost you to come here and learn every day? How much do you have to pay for the textbook? How much lunch money does it require for you to come here and learn?"
"There seems to be, with certain people in certain professions that have certain worldviews, a genuine lack of knowledge about basic economics 101."
"If you have -- and most Americans fit this category -- a benefit at work that pays for a portion or all of your health care, you are not technically insured. Your company is insuring you. You have coverage. Somebody other than you is paying for it."
"The ability to pay the bill has absolutely no relationship to the cost of the service in this country, and that's because there are too many people in the middle who are benefiting financially and politically by being there."
"It was President Obama who lauded the whole concept of paygo, and Harry Reid has lauded the whole concept of paygo. I mean every bit of ammo for Bunning to have some defense in there from his colleagues is just waiting to be used."
"If you have access to a service that you don't think you're paying for, then you're not going to care what it costs, and if you have a bunch of politicians pounding into your head every day that you are entitled to that, then by God you're going to expect it."
"If you tax more of something, you're going to get less of it. If you tax something less, you're going to get more of it. Economics 101. Free market 101."
"I am not going to sit down with a pair of scissors and a newspaper. If you do it, more power to you, God love you, God bless you. I'm not a coupon guy."
"The things that are wrong with the US health care system have nothing to do with our health care. They have nothing to do with the actual care. They have to do with who's running it."
"I'm getting all kinds of e-mails: 'Rush, Rush, did you watch The Bachelor last night?' Ladies and gentlemen, I have literally nothing to gain by telling you my thoughts on this show. There's literally nothing in it for me. I'm just going to say I am very, very afraid."
"This is a government problem just as every other screwed-up program in this country servicing the entitled is a disaster. The people who bring us these programs now want to control two-and-a-half trillion dollars of our economy. There's not one of them, other than the doctors that are elected to office that has the slightest competence, qualification. Just because they care doesn't mean they're qualified."
"We need to ask ourselves why a guy whose only experience with medicine is as a patient is qualified to design the entire nation's health care system."
"When Howard Fineman told us that he 'listens every day,' I found it hard to believe, because none of it's sinking in."
"If you are a black centrist in a couple of key areas, the Democrat Party wants nothing to do with you -- and if you are black and you want to be governor of New York, you haven't a prayer."
"Have you seen, by the way, the NAGs are now going after New York Governor David Paterson? What if his last name was 'Clinton,' and what if he were white? Would you gals leave him alone?"
"Politico says that rather than change things up a bit and address Senator Bunning's issue about paying for an unemployment benefits extension, Harry Reid let the fund stall because he's got a tourism bill he needed to work on to save his butt back in Nevada."

William Stuntz is a professor at Harvard Law School who has published broadly and engaged with our own Paul Mirengoff on occasion. Over the past 10 years Professor Stuntz has also struggled with increasingly excruciating pain deriving from a back injury. Then in February 2008, a large malignant tumor was found in his body. His cancer has metastasized and spread through his body to other organs, and he is not expected to live more than a year. He is 52.
Professor Stuntz is a reflective Christian. Timothy Dalrymple interviewed him to explore the spiritual component of his physical ordeal. The interview is posted under the evocative heading "You will call, I will answer," and is worth the time it takes to read it.
