TX governor Rick Perry is reelected yesterday, defeating Kay Bailey Hutchinson. He rallied Conservatives. ((Reading Reuters)) If Reuters thinks this is "anti-Washington" this was just the primary. They were both Conservative Republicans. Gov Perry had the backing of Sarah Palin; Senator Hutchinson had the backing of the NRC in Washington. Others backing Kay Bailey Hutchinson were Bush, Rove, and party loyalists.

House will first pass the Senate bill; none of these guy want to fall on the sword and go first. The House wants the Senate to go first. Tom Harkin made the comment in the office of Harry Reid. I'm sure I'm right. That would mean the Senate would be forced to pass by 51 votes their own bill, including CornHusker Kickback and Louisiana Purchase. Whatever Obama will say in an hour will be total nonsense. Remember how they had doctors and nurses behind him as a prop before? They forgot to give them the white lab coats.
He will say that bureaucrats should have control over healthcare. He wants that control. He is going to lie like Saul Alinsky taught him. We will paint insurance companies as villains.
We are debating a premise that does not exist: Obama's plan.
He has no experience but he will wipe out insurance companies and turn everything over to gov't. Who holds government to account? Who the heck is this guy to devise the system? What has he ever done? He gets nagged by his wife over cholesterol.

Extending the first time did affect jobs, unemployment went up. Tune in Heritage Foundation. Within hours today or tomorrow, brainiacs will tear down this speech, word by word, lie by lie. They will also add free market ideas on proper directions.
Tomorrow, it will he Hiroshima Time; he thinks it is nuclear time, watch out. There is funny stuff in the speech too. He talks about the latest summit and state grants for medical malpractice tort reform. What is that?
Then he credits Republicans for opposing Fraud and Waste. Does that mean that if Republicans hadn't brought that up, there would still be fraud and abuse in ObamaCare?
The grass roots leader Anabelle Park of Coffee Party was an operative in the Obama Campaign. Just do a search on the web. "United for Obama, YouTube" was her baby. The Tea Party is really bugging them and every phony response is paid and directed by [nutty Leftists].
Ford outsold them all. General Motors has to recall 3million and they blame the same suppliers of steering as Toyota.

Previously, Obama says Bush got major plans done without 60 votes. Dingy Reid said, "Nobody is talking about reconciliation." These Democrats lie! They simply don't care and will lie about anything. They know buddies in the media will not check the garbage and will go along.
Caller: Tax into prosperity? Can't work. They think they can?
This is my problem: nobody is this stupid, after 14 months of destruction. It is their purposeful ideology. They are not saying that. This is not about improving healthcare in America because improvement is not proposed.
What do we know about Obama? We don't know what his grades are. We know who his associates were and are. He was totally the least vetted. Some of us found out enough to oppose. Obama was brought up and educated to not like this country. (We create poverty around the world; we send our military to murder around the world; rich in America has stolen it from union workers. By golly, by God: it is payback time now. And all of you have to get your mindset right.)
That is the mindset of his minister; it is the mindset of his friend Farrakhan. It's the mindset of half the union members, if not more. It is the mindset of many of Obama's professors at Harvard; (same w/your kids in college); and Obama's main influence was Frank Marshall Davis.
He also hated this country, an avowed Marxist and Communist.
He hated this country while living in Hawaii, go figure.

Tom Harkin told Politico that they plan to go the 51-vote route in Senate:
After the House passes the Senate text, the House can then add to it. It will be a bloody process and take time. Republicans congressmen will be able to put thumbtacks in the road.
Caller: Rick Santorum said they can only add amendment after amendment after amendment. That would be the only way to slow it down.
So may talking heads and pundits said, "We will never do 51 vote reconciliation, no we would never do that." And now, this is where we are.
I'm going on what Tom Harkin told Politico. The House first passes the Senate bill; then it goes back to the Senate again and working it out begins. There is distrust between the House and Senate. The House took the heat for passing first last time. They were criticized by the public.
History now is that you had House and Senate bills
that could not be 'conferenced'. Now MA Scott Brown is there.
The House passed every Communist idea Obama wanted;
The Senate tried to do the same thing;
Some republicans like Olympia Snow said, "No way."
Now they have to go back again to the Senate with a compromise.
Blanche Lincoln and others said, "No single-payer"
Obama goes ahead and says, "We are going to do it."
The Senate bill doesn't have half of what Obama said today.
Here's the trick: the house has to trust the Senate.
Nancy Pelosi will rubber-stamp the Senate version w/o Public Option.
What is the Senate bill become the House bill.
Then it goes back to Senate where 51 votes per amendment are needed.
It is a clear violation of Senate rules.

| Last week, Senator Jim Bunning, Kentucky Republican, objected to a last-minute $10 billion bill that included yet another round of unemployment benefits, and funding for highway and transit programs. Since then, Bunning has been demonized by the White House, by Democrats, by union thugs, and the State-Controlled Media for putting people out of work and being coldhearted to the unemployed. Now, what Bunning actually did was expose a Democrat lie. On the Senate floor, he explained that he is for extending unemployment benefits, and health benefits, and flood insurance, and highway funding, and small business loans, and a host of other goodies tucked in the bill. His only demand is that all that be paid for. Recently, President Obama made a big show of Democrats passing a paygo bill. Claiming to be fiscally responsible, they promised that any new spending programs would be paid for with money cut elsewhere in the federal budget, but this new $10 billion bill has no such offsets. So Senator Bunning put their lie under a bright spotlight of truth. Rather than excoriate Bunning, the State-Controlled Media should investigate why, with over $1 trillion in stimulus money and pork earmarked for "shovel-ready projects," the Department of Transportation has laid off over 2,000 federal highway workers waiting for money from yet another pork-infested bill. I mean, if anybody deserves to be taking heat, it isn't the one senator demanding fiscal accountability -- it's all of those who aren't. |

William Stuntz is a professor at Harvard Law School who has published broadly and engaged with our own Paul Mirengoff on occasion. Over the past 10 years Professor Stuntz has also struggled with increasingly excruciating pain deriving from a back injury. Then in February 2008, a large malignant tumor was found in his body. His cancer has metastasized and spread through his body to other organs, and he is not expected to live more than a year. He is 52.
Professor Stuntz is a reflective Christian. Timothy Dalrymple interviewed him to explore the spiritual component of his physical ordeal. The interview is posted under the evocative heading "You will call, I will answer," and is worth the time it takes to read it.
