Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Thursday, 1/6/11
Student NOTES from Institute freshmen, not 'official'
Opening: Two more frauds: AGW and kid vaccines.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1: C-Span shows congressmen reading the US Constitution
pnsNBC reports kids data was doctored. These are the same people that write your political news: death if you eat pork-fried rice. Parents were spooked worldwide and kids were not protected by chickenpox, etc. The twelve children studies lead to a worldwide fraud ((reading on)) "It's an elaborate fraud."
An island of plastic waste is 200 times smaller than claimed in DbM.
So the four corners of deceit continue unabated.
Government, Academia, Science, and Media!
New majority leader John Boehner was interviewed and his words twisted. "Why waste your time tossing out Obamacare when you could find Jobs?" What about the wasted time when they put this garbage-of-a-bill Obamacare together? Now DbM is worried? This is truly hilarious.
Forget for the moment The Calvary is there to (1) cut spending; and (2) roll back Obamacare. Keep making Obama veto it and Democrats defend it. .!.
Oh, btw, grab sound-byte #33. We must go back to the power of this program. Professor Cornel West is upset with his brother Bro.Obama for not doing enough. ((Clip: He surcame to corporations and was pussed to the middle.)) Staff can't find the word, but the word 'surcome' was found. It is slang for chat-rooms. There now is an entry in Urban Dictionary for 'surcame' that was not there yesterday. Did Prof West enter the word himself after hearing his name on this show? It was there, and now, apparently, removed. www.UrbanDictionary.com It is back again, posted by Tpro.
((Clip: This is very emotional. Those articles of the Constitution that were dedacted are no less important in reading the Constitution.)) Reverend Jackson's son is down for the struggle. He says it would be very draining to listen.
Now that the connection between child vaccination and autism is shown to be a fraud, these people now have a new theory to promote: air pollution.
>>> [ED: Not so fast! One fraud in UK does not the link break.]
What no one can deny is that autism in kids is an epidemic.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#2: Southern Democrats pressed for 3/5 of a vote
Remember in 1981 saccharine was taken off the market because it was thought to cause cancer. They took the equivalent of a case a day of pop and injected it into mice causing bladder cancer. They would have had the same results with water. Now, saccharine is taken off the danger list, after 30 years.
It was the slave states that wanted their slaves counted as 3/5. Northern states wanted them counted not at all. Women were not allowed to vote. Isn't compromise supposed to be good?
Gov of Hawaii wants Obama to release his birth certificate,
>>> and he doesn't understand why he won't. [[[ Head-fake.]]]
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#3: Watch Wednesday, January 12th, to repeal Obamacare in House
Love the timing in DbM on homeless due to rising medical costs. Just in time for John Boehner to take the gavel. 48million are below the poverty line.
Not that you care, but there is a new 'chief-of-staff' Bill Daley and DbM is panting. Obama is going to have Progressives around him. Robert Fibbs is leaving as press corps spokesman saying he was underpaid. He will work on Obama's reelection. $292,000/yr is the average salary for stagehand at NYC Lincoln Memorial. That is the average at Carnegie Hall. Musicians don't make that much.
I have nothing against stagehands—everyone has to do something. One stagehand has the single task to raise and lower the curtain, a union job. Bill Daley comes from MorganStanleyChase. Where's the outrage? He was a top contributor to Obama, $700,000. You get what you pay for. Politico reports the Left is not happy.
The Dad of seven with a fabulous voice going to work for Cleveland Cavaliers looks like Geraldo to me.
((Clip-reading-Constitution: No person except a natural-born citizen shall be POTUS. Yelling from gallery: "Except Obama!"))
DbM never treated Speaker Nancy Pelosi like they are now treating Speaker Boehner ((Clip: We will meet our pledge sometime this year.)) Why do you need to add amendments to something you are getting rid of? Barney Frank wants to.
It could be one line: "We are getting rid of this sucker!"
((Clip-Boehner: It will lose jobs and ruin the best healthcare in the world. The CBO can have their opinion but nobody believes it.)) They are on the warpath.
Eric Cantor wrote the repeal and it is one page long for Wednesday.
>>> Republicans will have a replacement bill, allowing amendments.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4: "What are taxes for?" asks Daniel Henninger, WSJ
WSJ Daniel Henninger writes well and we will discuss in the next segment.
Caller: We have an uphill battle to support the Constitution.
Caller: Carnegie Hall stagehands make more than musicians?
Save the time and money you would spend sending kids to college. Union job for the stage manager is over half-a-million, $530,000.
>>> You don't want to speak against stagehands.
You might get something dropped on you: "Murder She Wrote", TV series.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#5: You have to be 'born' into the stagehand union.
>>> You have to be 'related' to get into Union One of stagehands.
_____________________________________________________________
DbM News: William Daley is youngest brother of Chicago mayor Richard Daley.
Bill Daley is the youngest of [prior Mayor] Richard J. Daley's seven children and the brother of current Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley.

Segment#6: Democrats plan a parade of victims
(Theme Music) ChiCom media is putting marriage data online so Beijing can check on mistresses. ((Reading: Several officials have been guilty and expelled from the party.)) He is now with the Obama Regime, ;-).
Healthcare news ((Reading: Blue Shield of CA seeks 59% boost in premiums due to Obamacare. Based in San Francisco they cite rising costs.)) But, don't worry. Your 26-yr-old kid living in the basement can be covered.
Democrats plan a parade of victims in congress testimony to whine. ((Reading: Rapid Response will check on Republicans, and paid ads will be run on TV. Phone banks will feature people who will lose their benefits. We are not talking about benefits down the road—we are taking about benefits right now.))
Starbucks has removed their logo and the word 'coffee' from their cups. It infuriates customers. ((Reading: Mythical green siren is featured, luring you to death.))
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_starbucks Comments are requested. What does it tell you? It tells you that customers don't care about quality of the coffee they drink there.
>>> They are buying it to show they drink Starbucks.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#7: Rush Limbaugh makes his points, against Junk Science
Caller: I would have to eat 200 pounds of bacon a day for 30 yrs.
You challenged the gov't report? Did you lose your job?
Back in the 1960s, questioning authority got you a big star. Spending time with Patty Hurst was the objective back then to be a proper Hippy.
Caller-Mom: OK, the UK study was a fraud. Vaccine is [still bad].
I have to stop you here—the MRD study was shown to be a fraud and it is the only study. Why do you want to believe vaccines causes autism?
Caller: I had a vaccination for the flu while I was pregnant, mercury. Research it.
That is my point: drive-by charlatans gave fraudulent researchers credibility.
Caller-still: Gov't recommends pregnant Moms do not eat shark, 50 times more.
If this is the case, why doesn't every Mom that eats mercury in shark deliver an autistic child? I understand what you are saying, but some things just happen and others want the government to do something. Lawyers chase you.
Back in my day, "Three-inch gash playing baseball? Rub dirt on it." I'm OK.
>>> If all junk studies were true, the human race would die out.
ED: Some of us are more sensitive to pollutants than the rest of you.
Lynnette and I have a grandson we help with natural homeopathics.
Some say problem is the massive vaccination regimen for infants.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8: Rush finds 'Mercury Connection to Autism' is also debunked
Did a quick check during the break: Mercury connection has been debunked. It that were true, we need to get rid of the florescent light-curly-bulb. Avoid mercury anyway, especially when you are pregnant. Oat-bran was another hysteria. Saccharine? 30 years later it is no longer a problem. Robert Kennedy Jr fanned the flame over autism (for lawyers). Clintons were the big vaccine pushers.
Robert Kennedy Jr wrote a July 1, 2005, article on autism/vaccinations.
Why would the major, major leader Starbucks try to get their name and logo off the mug? Because [hippies] liberal [progressives] hate big corporations. "Even though I don't like the coffee, I want people to know I pay 'bucks' for what costs a 'dime'."
Congress is a legislative body and holds the power of the purse. ((Reading: Not in the Constitution will you read they are to spend so much.))
http://online.wsj.com/article/wonder_land.html Congress budgets it, and the President spends it, [or not]. ((Reading: "Presidents once had the authority to spend less than Congress made available through appropriation. On reflection, nothing else makes sense."))
((Reading on: Executive impoundment doesn't work. Broken windows are repaired in areas of crime so the criminals won't know people don't care.)) [Rush really likes this article—can you read it yourself?] It is a round-about way to get line-item veto.
http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/01/gov-christie-scuttles-new-jerseys-division-minority-and-women-bus Gov Christie scuttles NJ support for women in small business. Same with the new Republican governor in AZ.
www.eastvalleytribune.com/arizona/article_2a9a77ce-0c89-11e0-ae3c-001cc4c03286.html "Brewer wants Congress to repeal ban so Arizona can cut 250,000 from Medicaid"
>>> >>> States can do that but the federal government can't.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9: Should US president have similar power to state governors?
The Budget-Control-Act of 1974 also gave us the CBO, Congressional Budget Office, to control Richard Nixon.
The Environmental Approvement Board is gone in NM because it hurt business. Republican Gov Susana Martinez ousts board over emissions rules (NM- to scrap new cap & tax regs). www.santafenewmexican.com/Local%20News/Martinez-ousts-board-over-emissions-rules
>>> You get monstrous legal debates on POTUS having that power.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#10: We'll hear phone calls from people holding 90 minutes, next.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Have you tried Apple products for your TV enjoyment/info?
(Music) There was a story that cable TV is in trouble because people can watch video from the internet on their TV screens. Apple has 'Air Play' to help you. You have control with iTunes or whatever you use. I use it with a Bluetooth speaker next to me and get 90% of the dialog. It's cool to do. I watch a lot of stuff on DVD because of the captioning, like 'Damages' and season four 'Mad Men'. I have Netflix too but like iTunes.
"Wall Street Never Sleeps" movie starts off great but let me down. Anyway, this story in WSJ said it would be the end of cable TV. On the Electronic xxx going on, there is a camera that uses a mirror to put you in the picture also even though you are taking the picture. www.CESweb.org
Didn't that snow storm hit after Christmas? Never mind that DbM blames the storms for decreased sales. ((Reading Reuters, AP, DbM: Fewer applied for unemployment, but not able to change the downward trend.)) Oh, no! Of course claims are going to be down. They are just searching for any news.
How is it possible that jobs are down but unemployment claims improve? What is AP trying to tell us. Where are all the newly created jobs? Media can try all they want, but people know if their job has improved.
> Drive-by Media doesn't have the control over people they used to.

Seg#12: Amend an up/down vote? // "It's good work, if you can get it."
Caller-Boston: Healthcare reform bill to repeal a bill?
Democrats are upset to not add amendments to deleting Obamacare. You don't have amendments to an 'up-or-down' vote.
Republicans will forward common sense reforms on healthcare.
Caller-Dad: My son works long hours; NYC stagehands are top of game.
Push a button to raise or lower the curtain, $292,000 average. Then they blackmailed the orchestra and shut down for 19 days.
>>> Hey! It is what it is; and I am just reporting.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13: Should support staff make more than performers?
Our teachers are notoriously underpaid as they indoctrinate our youth. The only way the Metropolitan Opera can stay in business is to be subsidized. Do you pay the young usherettes nearly as much as NY Yankee ball players? The top violin player tops out at $100,000.
The one who actually fired Juan Williams from NPR has resigned (Ellen Weiss). Vivian Schiller, CEO of NPR, ordered him fired gets to stay but had her 2010 bonus stripped.
>>> Can Juan Williams now go back to NPR?

Segment#14: Buy your hybrid and don't dictate to the rest of us
Caller: Honor to speak w/you. Some Gov't regulation is good.
I reject the premise as too broad. Yes, some is good. [Cars discussed] Miles to the gallon has nothing to do with air quality. I have a car that gets eight miles to the gallon and I'm proud of it.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Catastrophic"
One early decision House Republicans are going to make is a vote on raising the "debt ceiling". Only in Washington is this a mundane process part of the normal routine. In the real world, a poor credit risk asking creditors to raise their credit line to allow more borrowing is not routine at all -- it takes a whole lot of onions.
Now, Obama regime big spenders are making the case for even more spending and borrowing. When Republicans said that any increase in the debt ceiling must be accompanied by dramatic spending cuts, the White House economic advisor, Austin Goolsbee, accused them of "playing chicken" with America's financial credibility.
The current debt limit is over $14 trillion. If Republicans don't raise it, Goolsbee warned, "the impact on the economy would be catastrophic," and create "a worse financial economy crisis than anything we saw in 2008." Republicans are also being warned that dramatic spending cuts would rattle financial markets.
According to Democrats and the State-Controlled Media, the only way to avoid catastrophe is to continue to recklessly spend money we don't have and print more and create... catastrophe!
But no matter what liberals say, it's high time to put a stop to Democrats' spending-and-borrowing this nation into the abyss. Republicans cannot allow the "business as usual" model to go on one day more in Washington. No matter how much they whine or bleat or moan, it's time for the adults to cut up Obama's credit card and lower his spending limit. Any other outcome would be... catastrophic.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"You ever notice how compromise is only necessary after Democrats lose?"
"The Republicans are really going to do it, and I like that. In fact, I love, ladies and gentlemen, the idea of reading the Constitution on the floor of the House of Representatives today. It's an exorcism. Look at it that way."
"Oh, I'm flattered: Roseanne Barr is modeling her future career after me. In truth, how many people have been doing that for who-knows-how-many years?"
"What is it with these Democrats, anyway? They're always sexualizing the opposition: 'tea baggers', 'fetishes' of the Constitution, etc. They are perverts themselves. Don't roll your eyes in there, Dawn. I mean, it is what it is."
"You talk about fetishes? I'll tell you who has a fetish. The Democrats have a fetish for Maya Angelou poems."
"The Constitution doesn't spell out what government can do; all the Constitution does is tell the government what it can't do, and the liberals hate that."
"Now we can finally say it: 'Former speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.' And there is no denying Pelosi's place in history is secure... undoubtedly to be remembered as the most unpopular speaker in our nation's history."
"By the way, John Boehner just made all of the new members of Congress swear to uphold the Constitution. There will be outrage later today and tonight on MSNBC about this."
"When the election of Obama came along, face it -- everybody thought, 'Oh, my gosh, now they've finally done it.' But after two years of pure, undiluted openness about who these people really are, look at the degree of opposition to it."
"You know how it is with ESPN... You never know."
"When they start reading the Constitution today on the floor of the House, I want to see how many Democrats get up and leave."
"The 112th Congress is blazing a new trail. They're putting their stamp right on Washington with this vote on freedom, on the role of the individual in America, on the limitations to the commerce clause, and on the genius of the separation of powers. This is an historic effort and vote."
"The news media is calling the Republicans' effort to repeal Obamacare a stunt, political theater. It's anything but. It's dead serious."
"The Obamacare repeal vote will occur one week from today on my birthday, January 12th. That's not a coincidence, folks. Don't doubt me."
"Wow, imagine that! A Supreme Court justice accepting an invitation from a member of Congress to talk to the legislative branch about the separation of powers? Well, can't have that! No, no, no! Let's get a Marxist professor in there to talk about it and balance it out!"
"I love it when women's rights activists seethe -- it's their constant state of existence."
"You know what I hope happens today? When it's time for Pelosi to give Boehner the gavel, I hope she doesn't. I would love to see them have to pry the damn thing out of her hand."
"See, to the media, it's political theater to say the Pledge of Allegiance, but when Pelosi flexed her muscles on the speaker's podium, surrounded by an untold number of grandchildren and extended family -- whoa, that was not theater!"
"The Democrats can only win by lying and changing the rules, and that's why they hate the Constitution. The Constitution's a contract. It's the mother of all rules, you might say."
"When I'm not here, it's just kind of boring out there. I've had so many people tell me that. I mean, liberals even make up less news when I'm not here."
"According to Democrats, family is anything you want it to be. Your family can be you and your goldfish -- which is a carp, by the way, if that means anything to you."
"The left will tell us who and what they fear by what it is they seek to destroy or endlessly criticize."
"You listen to your average Democrat talk about Bush, and it's no different than what Ahmadinejad says about Bush."
"Oh, there's Pelosi! She's smiling! She's opening some book! And she does not have a gun in her hand -- I just want to report that."
"JFK's inaugural address was basically a declaration of war on communism, and that's why I find it really strange that Democrats today cite Kennedy so frequently."
"Wow, that was the classiest I've ever heard Pelosi. Honest to gosh, it was. I feel a little shocked by it."
"Pardon my yelling, but I get passionate about this. Individual liberty, the Constitution, and freedom are all under assault. They have been since the founding of this country, but the change is that a large element of that assault now comes domestically from people like Jerrold Nadler."

Michael Ramirez comments on the transition that took place in the House of Representatives yesterday. If you watched the ceremony--I caught part of it over the lunch hour--his characterization certainly seems fair. Nancy Pelosi embarrassed herself with a rambling, self-promoting, and nearly endless speech that was accompanied by a weirdly inappropriate affect. John Boehner, in contrast, was brief and sober. Click to enlarge: [Cartoon w/:: "Come on, Nancy, it is time for adults."]
One of the first tests of the House Republicans' sobriety will be the vote to raise the federal government's debt ceiling. As I understand it, the government will run out of money some time in the second or third quarter and will need to sell bonds in order to continue paying its obligations--i.e., the salaries of military personnel, payments owed to government contractors, payments due on purchases of equipment, purchases of essential materials like gasoline, Social Security checks, and so on. If the debt ceiling is not raised, the short-term effect would be to compel the government to default on some of these obligations.
No one wants this, and I am not aware of any plan by the Republican leadership or anyone else that could somehow cut spending in what remains of FY 2011 so as to enable the government to get through the current year without an increase in the debt ceiling. Thus, the prevailing theory on the right is that the Republican House shouldn't actually refuse to go along with an increase in the ceiling, but should bargain hard in exchange for members' votes so as to obtain something highly valuable in return, like a balanced budget amendment.
The problem with this theory is that the Republicans are only in a position to strike a favorable bargain if their threat not to approve an increase in the debt ceiling is credible. If the Democrats call their bluff, the result could well be disarray and collapse on the Republican side and recriminations from the party's base, which may have unrealistically high expectations. To be clear, there is much the House can do to cut federal spending and bring down the deficit; it is just not apparent to me that the need to increase the debt ceiling presents the golden opportunity for such measures that some envision.
Am I missing something here? If so, no doubt our readers will explain why.
