Your Rush ECHO for Thursday 3-31-2011

ChiComs!  Rush Limbaugh sees Honolulu city council
today — he will surrender and apologize to ChiComs.
We wish him God Speed and success in representing America .!.
Errata:  He goes there after golf tee-time not noon tea-time.

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Thursday, 3/31/11
Student NOTES from Institute freshmen, not 'official'
Opening:   Your undocumented Mark Steyn, sitting in.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  Mark Steyn is brilliant with insights and wit over Libya/Budget
Rush is in Hawaii.  I am here as an exchange student as our Military are on exchange in Libya.  J. Carney says it is not a war since we are only dropping bombs on them.  "Operational Control" is taken over by Canadian general Bouchard over NATO, so don't worry, USA is not involved in the war anymore.

Obama says the freedom fighters in Libya are professionals, lawyers, doctors and part-time Jihadists, and we can trust them.  'They are almost as credentialed as me', Obama assures us.  He wants to find a Harvard man in Libya.  He says we should not jump in with "both feet" and so has stomped in with one foot.

It is not just Obama that likes all the credentialed buddies in the Middle East.  Hillary Clinton looks as Syrian president Assad as a 'reformer' meaning that he did not kill as many citizens as his Dad did.

The secret CIA operations are in all the newspapers;  as is the secret deal to arm the 'rebels';   so we know everything but why they are.  We don't know that.  Khadafy was in the dumps until he heard Obama say he was not interested in regime change.

We will look at the Budget and if Republicans are showing enough spine and metal.  Can we roll back the huge behemoth that is crushing the United States?

>>> Rush Limbaugh will be back on Monday if he escapes ChiComs.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"The Democrat Party, the American left, have had their boot on the neck of the golden goose for 50 years, and that golden goose is down to its last breaths."
"This is the tip of the iceberg as these governors continue to have to make budget cuts. Nobody's been using real money for a long time.  It's come due now.  It can't go on anymore."
"We have Chuck Schumer out there advising everybody to call the Tea Party people extremists. Frankly, folks, I want some extremists when it comes to budget cutting."
"This country will not survive very long with too many people thinking their neighbors owe 'em a living.  Europe has shown us this."
"You are not engaging in collective bargaining when you're a public employee union member -- you're just shaking down your fellow citizens."
"The Democrats run the Senate.  They have not passed a budget.  They're not even really debating one.  They don't want a budget."
"The multicultural curriculum is based on the premise that America is flawed, a fraud, and a lie.  I mean that's the thrust, that's the whole reason for multiculturalism in the form of a curriculum."

"The Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy.  What is one of the courses, how to eat hamburgers without your wife finding out?"
"'Drill, baby, drill' -- that's exactly what we need to do, and we should have been doing it for decades."
"How about asking the United Nations and the Arab League to tell Obama we should get serious here about cutting our budget? Well, I mean, he listens to them."

"Obama pretends to know more about the oil business than the people who do it for a living, but Barack Obama could not get one drop of gasoline to the market if his life depended on it."

"They prayed to God for Obama in the New York Times. Do you understand, ladies and gentlemen, the depths to which they have plunged?"
"I will be out the next two days, ladies and gentlemen. I am going to Honolulu to surrender to the Honolulu city council. I'm gonna tackle this head on, right after my tee time at noon."
"There's gonna be a real test coming up here.  It was in Wisconsin.  It's gonna go to Iowa, Ohio, Indiana.  Will the people who showed up in the elections to elect these people to stop this, will they support the actions that they demanded, or will they cower?"
"The real target in Wisconsin is not Scott Walker.  He's the face of it and he is the focus of their attention, but he's one person.  The target is all of us.  Folks, the target here is the American way of life.  And it's happening all over this country.  It has varying intensity levels but it's happening all over the country."
"The Tea Party hasn't gone anywhere. The Tea Party is out there, is as passionate as ever, and is growing."

"Does anybody think that the 'moderate' way we're running around here dealing with this budget impasse is accomplishing anything? It's not."

"If you want to talk about extreme, what is extreme is the irresponsibility of federal spending -- that's where the extreme is."

"Mary Jo, where do you get off as a public worker union demanding that your neighbors pay for your health care and your pension for the rest of your life? What kind of mind-set is it that would make you look at your neighbors that way?"
"Hey Mary Jo, what is this 'making a difference' business? Adolf Hitler made a difference."

"I'm in one of those moods. I'm not going to have much patience for lack of logic, stupidity, and other things."
"I want to go back to the phones.  I'm tired of carrying this show today."
"I believe in individual liberty.  I hate groupthink.  I hate conformity."
"I happen to believe that one of the most harmful things about our educational system is groupthink being promoted, everybody thinking the same way about everything, everybody acting the same way.  We are becoming robots.  We are not being who we are.  We are not being individuals."
"If somebody knows the risks of smoking and might die at age 60, it's their business.  If this product is so deadly, ban it."
"There's not a solvent state in this country.  Some are closer to it than others.  But what's next?  Prostitution, drugs, you name it.  That's where we're headed."
"The smooth talker Obama is not convincing 75% of the people like he did two years ago."
"Sometimes the Republicans don't have to say anything for voters to get it.  People have figured out Obama's policies do not create jobs."

"People have figured out Obama's mortgage savior program has led to more foreclosures."

"People living their lives in Obama's America understand full well, and the polling data backs it up, that he is not who he says he is.  His programs do not accomplish that which he claims and promises they will accomplish.  It is why there is an abject, borderline panic on the left, in the media and at the White House."

Tea Party activists frustrated with Republican leadership in the House of Representatives over compromising and promise breaking are planning a rally outside the Capitol and might even try to challenge GOP leaders in the next primary election if the wild spending keeps up. But even as Tea Party groups apply intense pressure on Congressional leadership to seek deeper budget cuts, top Democrats are urging Speaker John Boehner (pictured, left) to ditch the liberty-minded activists and join a statist Congressional coalition.
The Tea Party, however, is not buying it. And at least one of the nation's largest organizations is planning to stage a rally about the GOP leadership's lack of resolve, set for March 31, on Capitol Hill. It will feature several well-known conservative representatives in Congress including Michele Bachmann, Mike Pence, and Steve King.
"[Republican] Members of Congress have abandoned their service to the people by passing continuing resolutions instead of cutting the $100 billion they pledged," charged Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin, national coordinators for the group Tea Party Patriots. "Is it lack or leadership? Is it a lack of courage? A real budget will spark a national debate on the role of government, and that's what the American people want."
Another Tea Party group is even plotting a possible overthrow of the House Speaker. Among the most direct and forceful Tea Party critics of Boehner, Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips actually suggested challenging him in the 2012 primary. In a blog post earlier this month, Phillips called the Speaker "a fool" and said he made less sense than actor Charlie Sheen.
"The Tea Party movement sprang up in 2009 as a reaction to insane government spending," Phillips wrote. "In 2010, the American people spoke, demanding change. Everyone realizes that the level of spending cannot be sustained. John Boehner did not get that message."
Republicans including Boehner rose to power promising to cut at least $100 billion from the budget for 2011. In a spending bill approved last month, however, Republicans backed a meager $62 billion in cuts in a supposed effort to compromise. And polls show the backtracking was not popular among Tea Party activists.

The Richmond Tea Party activist stopped short of calling for an ouster of House leadership, saying they were on the right track. However, "we want to poke them and keep them moving," she told the paper.
A spokesperson for the Majority Leader cited by the Times-Dispatch defended Cantor and said he was working on changing the culture in D.C. while making significant cuts. "There is a lot of work to be done and Republicans will continue to lead the effort to cut government spending, but we will need Democrats to join us so these House-passed measures can become law," the spokesperson said.
Other more "moderate" Republican legislators are also under fire from Tea Party groups nationwide, particularly two big-spending GOP Senators up for re-election soon — Maine's Olympia Snowe and Dick Lugar from Indiana. Numerous high-profile Tea Party organizations have pledged to target them in the upcoming primaries. And those two senators probably have even more to fear from the activists' electoral challenges than even House leadership.

As you may have heard, the Israel Defense Force has declassified maps showing their assessment of the locations of Hezbollah bunkers, weapons facilities and surveillance posts in the village of El-Khiam, north of the Israeli border. Having just recently been looking at that village--from the southern side of the border--I was particularly interested to see this. Judith Levy's analysis of the IDF's decision to release these maps right now seems to me exactly right:   ~~~   ~~~

There Is a Method to Obama's Libya Madness
President Obama's decision to bomb Libya is not even so multilateral as President George W. Bush's decision to attack Iraq. Nor is it ultimately driven by humanitarian concerns -- and certainly not by any vital U.S. national interest.

Despite Obama's vilification of Bush for his alleged unilateralism, "Obama's 'coalition of the willing,'" according to foreign policy reporter Josh Rogin, "is smaller than any major multilateral operation since the end of the Cold War." Obama's Libyan intervention is more unilateral than Dubya's in another respect, as well: Obama has brazenly refused even to consult Congress, much less seek its blessing.

As I argued in my most recent column, this is just the foreign policy outworking of Obama's campaign to fundamentally transform America. Notice the common thread. He is using domestic policies to effectuate "economic justice" at home, trying to cut "wealthy" Americans down to size. Now he is using foreign policy to diminish America's role and stature in the international community to cut wealthy, imperialistic America down to size.

I don't want to get bogged down here in a discussion of whether his motive is thus to sabotage America. In my view, that's the effect of his policies, but I suppose that in his view, America will be a better nation if it uses government coercion to come closer to equalizing everyone's share of the pie -- even if it results in the pie's shrinking -- and if America operates less in its own self-interest in foreign affairs. It's a bizarre mindset and one that most Americans probably don't understand -- so bizarre that they don't believe it despite the proof in front of their faces.

Think about it. Obama's secretary of defense, Robert Gates, admitted on national television Sunday that Libya poses no actual or imminent threat to the United States and that it is not a vital national security interest. This was no gaffe. Surely, Obama's team is not so incompetent and undisciplined that it didn't anticipate this question and carefully prepare the answer.
