Your Rush ECHO for Friday 8-12-2011

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Friday, 8/12/11
Student NOTES from Institute freshmen, not 'official'
Opening:   We are 'in' Los Angeles for one day.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  Mitt Romney was a highlight, despite Fox 'gotcha' questions
We promised a DittoCam here on the Left Coast and here it is.  Yes, Snerdley is taking calls on Open Line Friday.  I'll get to the debate. "What was going on with the Fox questions?" people ask.  There were several references to how pleased mainstream media was with the questioning. That may have been the reason: to please and avoid criticism.  A Fox panel went over every word of every question.

Everything on TV is produced, and nothing is spontaneous.  They threw up two contradicting quotes and you know it was planned. The only things spontaneous were the answers.

I missed the first 40 minutes since we just got off the plane.  I said, "My gosh!  Do these candidates know they are running against Obama?"  I saw a replay of Romney going after Obama later.  Then there was the doorbell;  I thought it was room service.

[There is a very bad reverb in EIB sound—very bad! ]  [[Better now]]

Then there was the booed question to Michele Bachman about being submissive to her husband, as president.   MSM loves that question.  Newt got on them for all the 'gotcha-questions' and the audience in Iowa loved that.  I don't want to go too far analyzing it—we haven't gotten that far into the cycle.

Huntsman says "I'll get back to you on my economic plan."  Heck, I have the best economic plan: get rid of Obama!   Romney hammered Obama pretty good.

MSM praises Fox getting Pawlenty and Bachman to fight.  Obama is so vulnerable.  Yesterday he said there is a problem with our politic.  No, the problem is you.

Reuters  ((Reading: Never before have consumers mentioned the negative effect on the economy from the government—lowest in 30 years.  54% confidence.))  Prior low was in the second term of Jimmy Carter.

There is Ron Paul on TV.  Yes, that is what we need.  Don't put any of his supporters on, Mr Snerdley.  I don't want to talk to them.

>>> I don't remember media pitting Democrats against each other.
>>> It took Operation Chaos to keep Hillary in the campaign.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:   A Great Divide between two competing visions of America
The Libs think that I won the debate last night, Robert Zimmerman on with T.J. Holmes: ((clip: Literate people stood with the extreme fringe.  The 10 to 1 ratio was not even supported.))  In a Republican primary, no one is going to support tax increases, it is not 'fringe'.  Why should candidates listen to guys like this?

Growth takes place in the private sector—taxes take money out.

You cannot compromise with these people. They have to be defeated.  Others begin to see that now.  There is a clear illustration of a Great Divide.  Senator Rubio said it on the floor of the Senate: Two competing visions of America.
>>> [Voters will choose between the American Dream and Marxism.]

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#3:    Romney won
The question was, "suppose you had a ten to one, cuts in spending" and Newt Gingrich and the other seven realized it was a trick question.  Fox and media knew that if any Republican stood for that they would be out of the race.  Political promises never happen.  $78billion over ten years will never happen.  Obama spends that in one day.  It was a designed question.

You get the taxes right now and phony cuts never.  "Pay as you go" was phony, demanded by Democrats in 2007.  It was only a marketing scheme.

Caller-Hobbit:  Run, Palin, Run.  She's the best.
TX governor Rick Perry says he will announce tomorrow.  The Huckster Huckabee was upset that TX Perry didn't support him in 2004.

All of this will get weeded out as the primary unfolds.

Pawlenty is finished, Conservative observers say this.  Bachman gave good answers.  Without question Romney won—not even close.  That may not be the case as we go forward.  He has ten times the money, except Huntsman.  You have to factor that in.

Caller:  I closed my eyes and Ron Paul sounded like Dennis Kucinich.  Then I opened my eyes and he looks like Woody Allen.
It was all set up to be entertaining and avoid criticism in MSM.
>>> Was Ron Paul entertaining in a good way or 'poke fun' way?

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#4:    Did you think the debate was good last evening?
Obama said there is nothing wrong with our country, there is something wrong with our politics.  Then he got on a plane to attend a fund-raiser.  [Rush uses his Obama voice:  Hey, you are not supposed to oppose the messiah, that's me.]

Richard Cohen discovers now that Obama is cold, not cool.  We saw that in 2008.  ((Archive Clips:  This is not about reality, it is a Hollywood storyline fiction.))
>>> If you let the candidates debate, you would not have to produce it.
Lincoln and Douglas would not debate in minute sound-bites.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#5:  Making government even bigger is never the answer
Reuters story may mean something.  ((Reading: Consumer confidence dropped to the lowest in 30 years.  Richard Curtain says that so many in the survey noted the negative influence of the government.))  Bigger government is never the answer.
>>> I hope the America people have at least learned that from Obama.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#6:     UK PM Cameron was not the reason
(Theme Music) Nothing is 'produced' here—I am the mayor of Realityville.  Our west coast Ditto Camera cost $5,000 and shows black and gray [microphone shows up golden.]  "I Love Lucy" was filmed with a black, white, and gray background to make TV lighting easier.

Obama carried NY with 63% of the vote—it is way to early to predict.  Now he is under 50% approval and it is something they will need to fix, in a blue state.

NYTimes, BBC, and Guardian are liberal outlets.  The UK Telegraph is ticked off for them to say it is the fault of their conservative prime minister, Cameron. ((Reading UK Delingpole: There have not been draconian cuts in Britain.
www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/   He says it is his job to not let Liberals get away with this characterization.  They are a mirror image of our 1960-hippy rioting.  They want to lift themselves out of poverty by stealing large-screen TVs.
>>> Some of the youth are from millionaire homes.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7: All eight candidates were against selling out America to Obama
Bill Ayres was son of Com-Edison CEO, a rich family.
"Thomas G. Ayers (February 16, 1915, Detroit, Michigan – June 8, 2007, Chicago, Illinois)
was president (1964-1980), CEO and chairman (1973-1980) of Commonwealth Edison."

Caller: Promising budget cuts 20 to one? Would you take the deal?
The public does not want 'compromise'—they want Obama defeated.

There is no 'compromise' with the American Left today.  Compromising with Obama is selling out America as it was founded.  25-1, 3-1, 5-1, cuts to taxation was a trick question.  Any candidate who supports taxation 15 months out is done.
>>> All eight candidates recognized it was a 'trick' question.
Rush notes an appeals court in Atlanta says Obamacare is unconstitutional.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#8:     Romney won
To those of you that say, "The system is broken", the system isn't broken.  Obama has been stopped from raising taxes.  He will try again to get Republicans to cave.  Once the Super Committee can't agree they will want taxation and 'grand compromise'.

If raising taxes were the answer, everyone would want to pay more to get us out of this mess.  It doesn't happen to take the money out of the private sector.

Atlanta appeals court allows the rest of Obamacare to stand.  It will go to the Supreme Court.  Why is it always Republicans who have to compromise?

Caller: Media is trying to elect who they want.  Karl Rove pushed Romney on Fox.  They didn't let Rick Santorum talk.  We in the West want a Santorum.

Caller: Herman Cain did the best.  I like him.
Everybody has their view;  Snerdley notes that Santorum had the best view on Iran.  Let me ask you this:  Santorum wants charges brought against those that perform abortions.  Will that work?  They didn't ever muss Romney's hair.

Yes, his weak point is RomneyCare.  There is a lot to sort out. Those hecklers got to him and he said with passion, "Obama is destroying this nation."
>>> Romney did himself more good answering hecklers before the debate.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9:  TX governor Rick Perry will light things up in the next debate
Caller: NFL Raiders played pre-season in Oakland, low capacity in California.
   In no particular order:  1. Economy;  2. Lock-out;  3. Pre-season; 4. Cardinals.

Rosters will reduce from 90 to 72 and people want to see regular season.  The economy is a bigger factor than some admit.  In California you have all kind of competing leisure activities.

Caller: I would never support Huntsman after selling out with Obama.
He quits to run for POTUS and to make mincemeat of the person that gave him the job.  What kind of guy does that?  He is working on his economic plan.

Caller: Mitt Romney is not totally my choice.  Better than McCain.
I would vote for any of them over Obama.
Caller:  I would like to see Sarah Palin run.  Next, Rick Perry.
>>> In the next debate you will have two 'presences' not just one.
And both of them governors.  This is going to light things up.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#10:  The two reasons to not vote for Romney are both laughable.
>>> The first mistake was Romneycare and that won't happen again.
>  I would much rather have Romney's religion than Jeremiah Wright.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Sure as Heaven and Hell, Obamacare is not 'revenue neutral'
(Music) "Individual Mandate" is declared unconstitutional, brought into question by 26 states.  The appeals court in Atlanta (#11) leaves the rest of Obama intact.  The whole purpose of Individual Mandates was to pay for the whole thing.  This is key.

What if the Supreme Court sees it the same way as the Eleventh Court of Appeals?  Would Obamacare then have to go back to Congress?  This was only allowed to pass under "Budget Reconciliation" not regular legislation.  It was said to not change the Budget.

If everybody is supposed to have insurance, where do you buy it?  It was essentially a tax that everyone would have to buy to have Obamacare coverage.  This was a significant fundraiser loved by insurance companies.  Remember also that the penalty is much less than the policy.  After a few years that would reverse.

It represents total control of every citizen and 26 states rebelled.

Now, one of the primary funding supports has just been scratched.  Does it not have to go back to Congress since Obamacare has no funding?  The Regime does not like this;  previous decisions were from appellate courts;  this is one step away from the Supreme Court.  Same with Bush Tax Cuts, they were not "budget neutral" and had to sunset by law last year.

That is why it took the Lame Duck session to keep Bush Tax rates in place.

Obamacare is definitely not revenue neutral.  I'll consult further.  This is going to shake them up at The Regime.  Whomever loses will take it to the Supreme Court.
>>> Without the Mandates, Obamacare—sure as Hell—is not revenue neutral.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12:  Republicans Cantor, West, Rubio, Ryan
No one reaches out more than we reach out from EIB, but if there is no commonality, they have to be defeated.  There is no compromise with these people.

Caller:  20 yrs of Reaganism helps all of us, coming from you.
[DittoCam shows Rush is wearing Bermuda shorts in California.]
Caller: Without you we would not have had the Contract with America.
I really can't disagree with you  [chuckles]  Way, over-the-top kind.  It is more challenging now to entertain. Things are far more serious and complicated.  We have a great 'farm team' with Cantor, West, Rubio, Ryan, and we need more in it.

That bench is one reason that I am optimistic.

Caller-FL:  I'm in small business; every house green will cost us thousands.
Obama wants to be the landlord and how will you compete with US gov't?
Caller-still: One criminal who beat the system for millions got a home.
Of course, you illustrate another way government impacts our lives.
>>> Obama and The Regime want to take over all of America.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#13:   Liberals are insidious — they need to be stopped
Caller:  Do you think Newt Gingrich has any chance, whatsoever?
Veep, possibly.  He is smart and I applauded.  He didn't look presidential.  He may repeat again, "The Reagan Era is over" or some other misstatement. [Or he could support the Hoax and Fraud of paying trillions for greening 0.1 degree in 100 yrs]

Caller:  If Hillary had been elected, would she have done this much damage?
She has the same ideology.  Remember Hillarycare?   Republicans would have been scared to death of the first female president.  She did not win.

Caller: In 2008, you made a prediction and you were dead right.
And then some—it is disappointing more didn't listen.  A lot of people didn't want to believe the reality, too historic.  They don't see it is on purpose.  The simplest thing to prevent this is to know Liberalism.

>>> This is what Liberals do if they are not stopped.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#14:  Reduce government and welfare dependency
Jay Carney bashed Bush for taking a vacation.  Now it is "fine" for Obama to go on vacation all the time.  Bush worked from Crawford Texas.

Caller-woman:  How can Republicans be against birth control and abortion and at the same time being against welfare?
The two are not related.  The government has become the missing parent.  The government has no business to contribute to decline and rot.  Churches used to do this.  Now it is laughed at and impugned.

This is the greatest country even inspired by God and we see it being ripped apart.  The guardrails are gone from our society.  There is a bias against Conservatives.  There is nothing about the Welfare state of value that can be praised.  All it does is create people to vote Democrat to have their lives ruined.

Conservatives want the best for everybody: education, jobs, prosperity.  Be your best in the United States.  It is not going to be true if we look at people as political tools.  The Left busts up families and tries to bust up churches.

For 50 years, Democrat promises have not been fulfilled.
>>> And the welfare-dependent continue to vote the same way.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#15:    'Choice' should not include robbing my wallet
To Leftists in The Regime, babies are a problem and they want to stop them.

Is there a problem in this country getting birth control?

Now it is a right we have to pay for?   You go get your own and pay, not me.
>>> The rest of society does not have to subsidize your behavior.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Rats"
So. As if the housing market weren't in enough distress – the Obama Regime has decided it wants to help. By turning thousands of government-owned foreclosures into rental-income properties. Yes: Big Government is about to become: Big Landlord.

Great! More tinkering from the same wizards-of-smart who turned a run-of-the-mill recession into Obamageddon. Barack-alypse Now. With President Debt-Man Walking.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency announced they are seeking input from "investors" for plans to rent almost a quarter million foreclosed homes with mortgages held by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Housing Administration. Regime officials are also reported to be "mulling over" a plan to target "metro areas" that have high rental demand and have been hard hit by foreclosures. In other words – blue cities, in blue states.

You existing landlords better get prepared you'll be competing with Barack Obama's Real Estate Company. Nobody can stop them from driving the market as low as they want! And you homeowners better not complain when government renters overrun your neighborhoods with government subsidies to rent their government properties. Eating government cheese, no doubt.

The housing market has continued to tank under this Regime. Now suddenly, just as election season kicks in, a flood of rental properties appear in blue neighborhoods at bargain-basement prices. Who will grateful blue-city tenants thank? Which political campaigns will grateful blue-city investors thank?

If you smell a rat – I can identify the species for you. It's a Democ-rat.

AUGUST 12, 2011 — JOHN HINDERAKER
Notwithstanding small ups and downs that accompany news stories like the killing of bin Laden or the unemployment figures of the day, the overall trend is that voters are steadily giving up on the Obama presidency. That is reflected in Scott Rasmussen's Approval Index, which compares the president's "strong approval" and "strong disapproval" numbers. What makes this particular index important is that it is one of the few that consistently »
