Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening: Dawn yawning won't affect me.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1: With all of the news, Hell's a'poppin' and Dawn is yawning
Obama and The Regime are rejecting the Keystone Pipeline for election politics and say the proposal can be resubmitted to not affect environmentalists. Canada's prime minister says they are going to move the oil even if they have to build a pipeline to China.
We all knew the "Mormon Angle" was coming from Obama team, but why now? They point out that Mitt Romney early on had Bain Capital giving charitable contributions to the LDS Church.
Romney has been doing debates and should have said, "I'll release my tax returns when Obama releases his college transcripts." Sarah Palin is doing her own version of Operation Chaos and keeping lower candidates in: "I would vote for Newt in SC."
Hillary Rodham Clinton distances herself from OWS, not making kook-base happy. Pelosi says 'far-right' and means the entire Republican Party. ((Clip-Pelosi)) She says the Republican Party doesn't think Romney can win. She is saying Obama can't lose (incumbent, Black, voter fraud, dumbed-down electorate, $$).
Some in the Republican establishment think no one can defeat Obama, not even a Moderate. ((Clip)) Another Liberal letting the cat out of the bag: Romney is robber baron and they want him as their opponent. They are overconfident. Latest word is WH is scared of Romney.
>>> They would be honest with us?
Rush adds: The captain of the ship in Italy says now he tripped into the lifeboat and was trapped for an hour. The chick-i-fi-ca-tion of news is underway.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2: Media is in the tank for Democrats, as usual
Romney says he is taxed at an average of 15%. Reuters says it is lower than most Americans, an outrageous story. Remember how Reuters said that of JFKerry (who also served in Vietnam) ? They didn't ! He was the richest ever to run and had an effective rate of 12%. He got his money the olde-fashioned way: he married it.
No one says Romney broke any rules. Romney made $375,000 last year speaking and Clintons brag of making $8million speaking. Reuters says Romney is out of touch, are rich Democrats out of touch. There is a reason the first lady is called Michelle Antoinette. She takes her own jet on vacations to Hawaii.
Clintons made more than $110million in their seven years. Were they ever called 'out of touch'? They are Liberals and so are never criticized in DbM. Bill Clinton made $82million in bribes as speaking fees in six years.
Releasing tax returns started after Watergate. The 15% tax is on top of the 35% corporate tax that has already been paid.
>>> But none of that matters when DbM is leaning Democrat.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#3: Tithing means 10% — in the Bible and today
In 2008, Romney did not release his tax returns and there was no problem. It is not required. We learned that JFKerry (served in Vietnam) paid zero to charity the year before he ran, the richest to ever run.
$270million is the Romney net worth, and I want to know where the crime is here. Do you want someone who earned their money legally, or someone who deals with felon Tony Rezko to buy a house and adjoining property below cost to sell for major benefit.
Everybody knew this was coming but they seem unprepared to throw it back at them.
((Romney ad against Gingrich: The race should be about Obama; Newt was tossed as Speaker; if Newt is the nominee, the race will be about Newt.)) Man, folks, this is 'scorched Earth!" Remember what an ad did to Gingrich in Iowa.
((Clip-Palin: I want this to continue, more debates. We made the mistake with [McCain] that he was not fully vetted.)) She has the Obama 'God-like' reverberation.
((Clip-Morris: Newt surely could make a comeback in SC; but if Romney wins, it is essentially over.)) There were two things we did with OpChaos: (1) Obama wasn't vetted, the press with him. His grades weren't reported and I thought the Hillary Camp would be the only ones that could bring them forward; (2) Extend to beat up Obama. In Texas it kept it going. It went on for seven months, never vetted.
Obama was not vetted in one year to the extent Romney and Gingrich are vetted in one day. Valerie Jarrett just broke the law: went into a church and gave a political speech and then registered citizens as voters. We don't know how much money Obama gave Rev Jeremiah Wright; we don't know how much money Rev Wright gave Obama.
The Mormons tithe (10%) to their church. Harry Reid is a Mormon, does he tithe? What about vetting his land deals. He is not presumed to be guilty because he is a Democrat. Add to that, Republicans going after each other.
Anytime Gingrich has a good day he tells Perry and Santorum to get out of the way, out of the way. And Santorum leads him in many polls. We'll see who gets the SC votes, Gingrich or Santorum.
>>> On one hand, it's funny, and on the other hand, it's tough to watch.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4: Allow the media to 'make you' and you set up to 'break you'
QB Tebow declines to show up on Sunday for CBS football. He'll also decline Dancing with the Stars. When media makes you, they can break you.
Caller: I want a 'street fighter' to battle as our candidate. Will Romney?
((Clip-Krauthammer: Romney doesn't explain with color and force the Conservative ideas. He talks like the chairman of the board.))
>>> Krauthammer says the Romney just doesn't have it within him.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#6: Watch out when Obama focuses on 'JOBS'
(Theme Music) Don't worry, I have everything in control. It is not time to panic. There is nothing Obama can cite, not even blaming Bush. He shoots down plans for Keystone Pipeline because it would run through pristine Nebraska.
Lifting the economy and people with it is effective oil access. The Chinese are extending their electrical power grid, and so is India. Obama and The Regime rejects the Keystone Pipeline on grounds of the environment. I am frankly surprised they would keep it going to get campaign donations from both sides.
Instead, The Regime wants to secure their base now. This election is going to be a referendum on Barack Obama, presiding over decline. He cannot afford to have the positive effects with just the announcement. Plus, it would totally blow up his wacky base. So later, it will be miraculously approved.
Donations from the environmental wacko side must be down. Everything Obama is doing now is about donation money. If your base loses passion, you have no prayer no matter how much money you have. Unions are on both sides of the pipeline.
Seven are charged in campaign finance, Wall Street on trial. Congressmen are not barred from inside trading. You can see how this is going down.
Why do protestors even go to the White House? It is already occupied.
PM of Canada says, "If we have to pipe the oil to China, we will do it!"
Even now for the ninth or tenth time Obama team says they will focus on job creation rather than deficit cutting. So what is there for the Left not to like. Does anyone really believe The Regime will allow any 'cuts'? It has been nearly 1,000 days without a US Budget. He got the debt ceiling raised last August on promises now broken.
>>> Every time Obama focuses on JOBS, that translates to STIMULUS.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7: Caller enumerates all the good points of Mitt Romney
Apple has an announcement in New York City and could be getting into [eBooks]. ((Reading-Jobs: I've come to the conclusion the problem with education is socio-political and cannot be solved with technology. The problem is unions and bureaucracy.)) He proposed vouchers as a new-age Buddhist. $4,400 per student would start parents thinking of alternative schools. Apple is not union. That was 16 years ago.
Caller: Getting fed up of the constant bashing of Romney.
And Newt is getting slammed by Romney. [Caller lists many good points of Romney]
>>> Believe, Mitt is dishing it out every bit as much as he is receiving it.
I believe caller was speaking of DbM and Rush was speaking of Gingrich.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8: Clinton speeches reaped $82million in six years and he brags
George Romney got into trouble saying too much. He said he was brainwashed by our side when he went over to Vietnam. That sank his campaign overnight. Now, his son may be cautious.
A website has come up that is exhaustive on Romney positions, 200 pages. It is from the 2008 McCain campaign. My point is there are attacks on everybody but will be eclipsed when Obama team starts. Who will be affected? There is a position that Romney will be the least vulnerable.
We all say, "We want vetting." It is useful to see how our candidate will deal with it. Look at it as training wheels. Allegations need to be vetted too. How do you blame anything in NYC a Republican creation? It is Obamaville. 2.9million New Yorkers have difficulty affording food, one in six.
Townhall in SC ((Clip-Romney: For last ten years my income comes from investments; I gave book proceeds away. Income tax is near 15%.)) Bill Clinton got $82million from speeches and brags about it. It's no contest at all. Media goes nuts with Romney, and the richest of them all JFKerry paid 12%.
((Montage: $364,000 is not very much? It is legal but a scandal, Mitt Romney has a lot of explaining to do.)) That was Robert B. Reichhhhhhhhhhh. Diane Sawyer is so good we separate her out. ((Clip-Diane: Wow, thanks so much. $374,000 for eight speeches.)) How much does Diane Sawyer get for speeches. She is worth [millions].
Romney gets $46,000 a speech. Clinton doesn't speak for under $110,000. The most I have been offered has been $1million to speak in TX in the 1990, and now
>>> I don't charge to give a speech, unless I am giving it to charity.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9: $500,000 for speaking in Canada, Moscow, and UAE, each!
I've been to Wm Shatner's house and he is personable and funny.
Clinton got $500,000 for speaking abroad, in just one speech. In 2008, Clinton got $528,000 to give a motivational speech in Canada. In June of 2010, he got $500,000 to speak in Moscow, same with United Arab Emirates, $500,000.
Caller: Mitt Romney does not whine about the attacks. I remain undecided.
And Rick Perry just keeps smiling. He makes me laugh.
>>> That's a good point — I've got to take a break, went long.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#10: I'm going to talk some time about earning money.
_____________________________________________________________
ED: Let the pressure build up to later show 'much-to-do-about-nothing'
(Music) More fun than a barrel of money, we have here. Grab soundbytes 27 and 28 and then we'll get back to order. ((Clip-Romney: A congressmen taking credit for creating jobs is like Algore taking credit for the Internet.)) And the former member of the Black Caucus in Congress. ((Clip-Clyburn: I got up early to deliver milk at 4am and I don't need Newt Gingrich to tell me about the work ethnic. We are not going to stand for it. White kids want to see Black kids as servants, that is the hidden agenda of Newt Gingrich.)) Intellectually, there is no way to get that from the Gingrich comment.
They played the race card on Clinton in the 2008 race; and Bill Clinton did not like it.
((Liberal Clip)) Dukakis was a joke; and Romney is a success. They are playing the class-envy card. Boon Pickens, "I have paid [millions] in taxes — is that not enough?" Our side always wants to be defensive. Turn it into a teaching moment.
Gov Chris Christie calls for an across-the-board cut in taxation of 10%. He wants that money left in the private sector and Democrats just can't stand that.
msNBC ((Clip: Talk radio is a tiny sliver. Mitt Romney makes a mistake to run with them. Focusing on inequality, Obama looks in good shape with OWS.)) Bob Woodward was on msNBC and interviews Chris Christie ((Clip-Christie: Let's get the facts out [with Romney] and we will see it is 'much to do about nothing'.))
>>> Romney could turn these questions into teachable moments.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12: Romney's 15% is on top of the already 35% investment tax
Ad: Julie Lowe builds here creative empire in advertising. Her office in Atlanta.
[Ad: You can have this also with Regis, the right way to grow a startup.]
Our Two If By Tea startup uses Regis—use my promo code, 'Rush'.
((Reading: After his announcement of 15%, he needs a tax reform initiative. He worries that he can propose nothing because of his wealth.)) Well, he is a rich guy. Look at how Gingrich turned the question around. He didn't go after Juan Williams but used a quick teaching moment to show teen employment as great training.
((Reading on in WSJ: Romney could start with a tutorial and talk about benefiting everyone. After they are taxed at the investment rate, 35%.)) They are that high to balance loopholes. ((Reading on: Why not propose a 15% flat tax? It's a start to say, "work towards 25% max." ))
Mitt Romney will be attacked in any event so prepare answers. ((Reading on: Get out front and propose.)) Go on Offense and explain the difference between capital tax and income tax. People can be taught.
Caller: I cringe when people say Romney is a businessman. Carter was also.
You make a good point. Leftists can also be Commie-bastards. What in the world does the government have they can teach GE?
>>> Jimmy Carter had a peanut farm in Georgia.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13: Contrast the lifestyle and record of Romney vs Obama
Other things that Romney could say, easy for us just sitting here:
We live in America, not some third-world satellite;
I favor denying Obama money for PORKULUS;
This is not America to live under class envy;
Protect us from bloated government.
Here's what Romney doesn't do: he does not play over 90 rounds of golf while everyone is suffering; lavish parties and dinners; lavish vacations. Romney is not responsible for 16% real unemployment.
Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Santorum and Perry are not the problem. All we get in media is what reprobates they are and they each are better than Obama. The media wants to talk about it, then let's talk about it. How many 'no-show' jobs has Michelle Obama had? Mitt Romney is not up there saying "Don't go to Las Vegas."
Obama has already spent the fiscal budget for the first two years of the next president. How much of your money did Mitt Romney throw at Solyndra? Did he take over GM and run them into the ground with the Volt? Did Romney turn down the Keystone Pipeline?
Mitt Romney and our candidates had nothing to do with our houses losing half of their value. Not one decision that leads to our decline was made by our candidates. What financial sacrifices have Obama's made? The presidency would cost Mitt Romney, but was a path to wealth for Michelle and Barack Obama.
Is there a candidate that thinks like I do?
If somebody said this in a debate, the standing-O would never end, and I just scratched the surface. Jay Carney was asked about the college transcript and sloughed it off.
((Clip-McConnell: With rejecting the Keystone pipeline, Americans should ask, "Where are the jobs?")) Rick Perry has a stronger statement.
>>> In a sane world without DbM all Americans would be angered.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#14: Mr Smith goes to Washington — Can he stay Conservative
Caller: Can a Candidate continue Conservatism? Gingrich?
When Gingrich is alone he is OK; when he joins a committee his other half of his brain starts gurgling. Anyone will have DC temptation to Liberalize.
>>> The only exception to the rule I have seen was Reagan.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#15: Don't doubt that Democrats think they need to panic
Congressman Keith Ellison wants to lower the voting age to 16.
>> >> >> It signals that Democrats are in trouble.
Closing: See you tomorrow to do it all again.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Who Indeed?"
"Who is killing Iranian nuclear scientists?" That's the headline of a recent CNN story about the death of Mostafa Roshan, who assumed road temperature in Tehran last week, thanks to a bomb strategically placed in his car.
Good old Mostafa is the third Iranian scientist to go to pieces in the last two years all by car bomb; a fourth scientist survived an assassination attempt.
But who's behind the bombings? We know it's not us, because Hillary Clinton, who is maturing rapidly as our Secretary of State, rushed out to "categorically deny any United States involvement in any kind of act of violence inside Iran." Besides, it couldn't have been us for another reason. It's against the law!
Democrats so neutered the CIA and our covert intelligence agencies from taking out bad guys, that it's almost inconceivable Obama would order up such a mission.
But this is an election year so we can't rule it out altogether, I suppose. And there is speculation Israel isn't involved, though they're not yelling, "not us! not us!" like we are. An Israeli general said, on Facebook, he doesn't know who's targeting the scientists, but he's not shedding tears.
The Iranians are furious. Failing to grasp the irony, they're accusing us, the Brits, and Israelis of supporting state-sponsored terrorism. And they're promising to retaliate when the time is right.
Meanwhile, they'd better think about upgrading the cars their nuclear scientists are driving; this year has already started off with a big-bang!

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"The government does not make people prosperous. The government makes people dependent, and seeks to make people satisfied on a subsistence rather than an existence."
"If you look at the entire Democrat constituency except for Hollywood and Wall Street, it is a never-ending sea of human misery. And we hate that, and we despise it, and we want it to end because we want a great country, and we know that a great country is made up of great individuals."
"Government doesn't improve anybody's life, other than if you own Solyndra or if you're a big donor to a Democrat and they pay you back with government money, but that's it."
"Average, ordinary Americans do not do anything but get harmed by a central planning, big government that thinks it's got all the answers rooted in its phony, fake compassion."
"This country is under assault from people who want to strip away all of our humanity. They want to take away all of our individuality. They want to make every decision for us because they have an inherent view that we are all incompetent. They treat us in a condescending manner."
"We're sick and tired of being called racists and bigots and sexists, when all we want is the best for everybody. We are sick and tired of this categorization, when in fact it is the people leveling the charge who are the racists; who look at these people and see no possibility; who see no potential; who see them only as voters; who want to dumb them down; who want to keep them poor; who want to keep them dependent."
"The message from liberal Democrats is that government will do everything for you, and our message is, 'We want to teach you to do it yourself. We want to teach you to do it for yourself and how much better off you are and everyone else is if you do it yourself.'"
"If you watched the debate last night and you saw the applause, you may have seen that standing O -- every time 100% conservatism was explained (in a positive, enthusiastic, cheerful way) it just drew unstoppable, positive reaction from the crowd."
"Pop culture alone is as much responsible for the cultural divide as politics is, and we're not there. We don't have anybody in pop culture."
"Bret Baier strategically made the decision a couple times just to shut up and get out of the way and to hell with the format and to hell with the time limits and let people go at each other. It was actually, in a couple of instances, a really genuine debate, rather than an extended, protracted interview session, like a Meet the Depressed or a Sunday morning format."
"The cultural divide is as much a matter of principle to the left as anything else. They're not gonna give up their principle on this. They believe people are inferior. They believe people are incompetent."
"The Democrats have spent 60 years building the cultural divide. It's the Berlin Wall of our country. They have built the Berlin Wall as the cultural divide to keep their people in it. We are the people on the free side of the Berlin Wall in this country."
"We conservatives do not see black, white, male, female, gay, straight when we look at people down the line. We see potential. We want the best for everybody. We know what's holding 'em back, and that's government."
"What breaks our hearts is to look at conditions in black America and see how they haven't improved under the tutelage of Democrats for 50 years. And it breaks our hearts because there are people who have better ideas for making those people's lives better, and they aren't Democrats."
"And another good thing to point out was the field has been winnowed. Huntsman wasn't there and, sadly, Michele Bachmann wasn't there. There were only five people and it made for a much better debate."
"We as conservatives want a great nation. We want great individuals. We want everybody to do well. That's how we have a great nation! There is enough wealth in this country for prosperity for everybody who wants it, if the government stops taking far more than what it deserves."
"The freeloaders are trapped on the wrong side of the Berlin Wall in this country. They're trapped on the wrong side of the cultural divide. It's going to have to change if America is to avoid this massive transformation that Obama seeks."
"The Democrat Party only wants to help people who want to make a living through the Democrat Party."

Newt Gingrich has labeled President Obama the food stamp president. In last night's South Carolina debate, Juan Williams, in an already-famous exchange, tried to push back on that characterization, unsuccessfully. "The fact is more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history," Gingrich told Williams. The White House apparently doesn't like the association between Obama and food stamps; Jay Carney said that »
