Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Monday, 7/2/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening: John Roberts, "Can we all just get along?"
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#1: When was the last time an entitlement thrown away?
Chief Justice John Roberts is the Rodney King of the Supreme Court, except he did not drown in his own swimming pool. Are you happy in the D.C. area if you don't have an electric car? Three-smillion out of power. And how are those solar panels and windmills working out for you? The power outages could last for days.
It hasn't been this hot in ten years—so manmade Global Warming is back. And the iPad made in China are waiting in a wearhouse to be distributed all at once. Did customs let them in? Tiger Woods is on a roll.
I told you last week that I was physically sick. Today, I am scared. ((Reading: The Chief Justice caved to media pressure.)) It lends credence to the theory that Obama was told in advance.
Roberts at first considered voting with the four Conservatives to get rid of the whole Obamacare as unconstitutional, at least the Mandate. Then DbM went on a tear saying the Supreme Court was about to be radical/shameful.
For a month, Justice Kennedy tried to convince John Roberts about freedom.
[Please read the exact analysis via Rush's website (highlights) to be sure.]
Now the DbM runs the Supreme Court. If I had cared about what was said about me, where would I be today? I could probably be a movie star. I don't give people the power over me this way.
If Jan Greenberg of CBS is right on this then you can be [really scared].
What happened to the reason for the Supreme Court? It is now confirmed to be a political institution. Now, they bend and shape to media pressure. Now, I'm sick, troubled, and down-out angry. I'm not going to lie to you: what we face is daunting.
QUESTION: When was the last time an entitlement thrown away?
ANSWER: That's right, we are yet to see the first one.
Not 250,000 or more but rather less than $125,000 pay 75% of Obamacare. Look at Europe (Greece, Spain, wherever) once they have entitlements, they don't want to give back.
Justices in the past did not talk to each other and try to persuade. Jan Greenberg seems to have some reliable sources. Somebody show me the silver lining in the sinking of the Titanic. We have a big, big task in front of us.
In 1992, Roe vs Wade had a justice change his mind.
It is incompetent to make a tax on something you don't do.
>>> Some think that John Roberts should resign over this.
John Eastman apparently said this on FoxNews.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Setback!"
Last week, the Obama reelect effort was handed a setback. A federal judge ruled that Florida could resume its efforts to purge voter rolls of illegal aliens.
The Eric Holder Department of "Justice" had sued Florida to keep the non-citizens in position to vote. Justice argued that the state was acting "too close" to a federal election.
But US District Judge Robert Hinkle ruled there was nothing in federal law that blocked any state from identifying non-citizens and removing them from the voting rolls. His ruling found that federal laws are designed to stop states from removing voters who are eligible to vote. Not to stop states from blocking voters who should never have been allowed to vote in the first place.
Florida's governor, Rick Scott, praised the decision, stating that allowing non-citizens to vote would cause "irreparable harm."
That, of course, makes sense to the average law-abiding citizen-voter who isn't trying to game the system, either by voting fraudulently or by benefiting from fraudulent votes. But to Democrats, this ruling is a disaster. Non-citizens may have a right to education, welfare, and Obamacare under this Regime; they may be granted amnesty by Obama; they may not have to worry about deportation under Obama; but to Democrats' dismay, non-citizens do not have the "right to vote." Yet.
Justice Minister Eric Holder could, I suppose, appeal the ruling all the way up to the Nine Amigos at the Supreme Court. And who knows what the result would be!

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"If we can't count on the Constitution being upheld in the Supreme Court, and furthermore, if the Supreme Court is going to take over the duties of the legislative branch and write legislation in order to save incompetent, unconstitutional, faulty work, then we've got pure fraud right before our very eyes."
"I'm not in denial. I know what we have to do. I know what has to happen. NOVEMBER. I am just sick that it's gotten to this point."
"There's a reason nobody predicted this outcome. And the reason is nobody was thinking outside the boundaries of the law."
"Every poll under the sun shows that the people do not want Obamacare. In fact, some polls show people opposed to it by a margin of 3 to 1."
"They have decided 169 times that pieces of legislation were unconstitutional. They don't do it all the time, but they do it plenty of times. We weren't asking to be protected from the 'consequences' of our choices. We were asking for the Constitution to be upheld!"
"This bill did not happen under the normal procedures within the law of how legislation is enacted, how it is debated, how it is voted on. There was nothing that was proper about this from the get-go. We were asking the Constitution to be upheld. We were asking for the Constitution to be defended and protected. That is their job!"
"It's almost as if the chief justice thinks if you can imagine that the law is constitutional, then you have to rule that it is. So now we're told that the guiding principle on the Supreme Court is we got to move heaven and earth to make sure the act is constitutional. We have to save the act. If it's the worst piece of crap ever to come out of Congress, we have to save this piece of garbage!"
"I know the two cases are different, but it doesn't appear to me that the chief justice went out of his way to find Arizona's immigration law constitutional. Now, I know that the Arizona law, that case was a case that was Arizona versus the regime and there was no congressional legislation per se that was being argued. But at the end of the day, it was."
"Roberts says that he thought it was his duty to save the Act no matter how bad it was. He had to write it to make it legal. Sorry. I feel like the police chief in my town just had a press conference and has announced that the police force will now be assisting criminals in breaking into my property."
"The tax increases that the Supreme Court just said are the reason the bill is constitutional, they don't hit until 2014, long after Obama has gone through his reelection process. Tax increases are not gonna happen between now and the election."
"The glimmer of hope is the November election and the Republicans winning the Senate, winning the White House, and holding the House. And then after that, hoping that everybody telling us now that they're gonna repeal it will do so."
"You talk about activism? By Justice Roberts stretching as far as he can to make sure he's not called an activist, he ends up being the most activist judge on the Supreme Court I can recall since Brennan or Douglas!"
"I thought in Marbury v. Madison, the court assigned to itself the role of determining whether laws were constitutional or not. Apparently Marbury v. Madison is out now, and Roberts v. America is in. In which case, the court's role is to find any way possible, without limits, to uphold unconstitutional law."
"I'm getting sick and tired of people marveling at each other for their so-called intelligence, when there isn't any. 'Wow, we didn't predict that. This guy is smarter than we are! This is really cool. We got to find a way to acknowledge this.' Nobody ever tried a stunt like this in 200 years of the Supreme Court. That's why nobody predicted it."
"I think the people who make this country work are not interested in the legal finer points. They're interested in whether or not there is a mechanism whereby liberty and freedom will be protected, maintained, upheld. And yesterday, a clear signal was sent that there isn't."
"I think it is the birthright of every American to have the opportunity to become the best they can be, to exercise the ambition and the desire and the ability that they have to pursue excellence to whatever degree they wish, and to have that effort rewarded accordingly, knowing that there's no such thing as fairness and equality and all that, we can stipulate that."
"I don't have a state of the art education. I don't have a state of the art anything. In my mind, I'm a living example of the uniqueness, the greatness, and the wonderfulness of this country. I love sharing my passions, including my success. I want everybody to be able to experience it to whatever degree they wish. And I look at decisions like this yesterday as a huge impediment to it."
"At the end of the day, we all know what's right and wrong. And then the realization that people in much more powerful positions than we are don't care about that, don't care about right and wrong, aren't interested in it. It is all about winning the points in the faculty lounge or being impressed that somebody came up with a solution to which no one predicted. Wow, how brilliant."
"This is not a faculty lounge debate to me. This is about something really basic. The freedom and liberty of the American people, which was not protected, upheld, or advanced yesterday."
"If the whole thing ends up back at the Supreme Court someday, we know all bets are off, because nothing matters anymore. There is no standard. There is no firewall. There's no backstop. There is no alarm. There is no 911. There's nowhere to go."
"For crying out loud, folks, we have a political party that is in bed with tyranny. This is not your Democrat party of 50 years ago. This is not JFK's Democrat Party. This is a Democrat Party that wants to punish people who disagree with them, wants to criminalize political differences."
"The information in the wiretap affidavit is sealed. It's not supposed to be released in public. But Darrell Issa is using constitutional protections for speech and debate in Congress to get it released to the public. It's a legal way to show that Holder is probably lying about the documents from Fast and Furious."
