Your Rush-brief ECHO for Monday 8-27-2012

Brief Rush Limbaugh Echo for Monday, 8/27/12
Institute students doing other work, building America
Opening: Some polls still have Obama up over Romney;
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  In sports and politics, nice guys finish last.  Will that be Romney?
Obama is up 22% over Romney with, "Obama cares about you."  Mitt Romney told Politico that Obama is a nice guy but is just incompetent. [Like with McCain, nice guys will lose.]  The theory is that people tuning in for the first time, don't want to hear a negative tone.  Also, the base already knows about Obama.

Romney says, "I am who I am—just a nice guy—and I'll not rip into people."
[Let us hope Dinesh D'Souza is supported with SuperPACs.]

When I was 18 they walked on the moon.  I learned that Wm Safire had written a speech for Nixon to deliver in the event they were stranded on the moon.  What if the rocket hadn't fired to get off the moon?  [Etc.]  They had one chance.

They had a camera set up to record the liftoff from the moon.  They were incredible people doing unbelievable things.  Neil Armstrong stopped signing autographs when he discovered they were being sold. Image that today.  He retired and lived in a small town outside Cincinnati.

Here is the beginning of Safire's speech ((Reading:  Fate had determined that these who made it to the moon, will stay on the moon . . .  In their exploration, they stirred the nations of the world to imagine together.))  That was on NBC, the former news source.  ((Reading on:  Others will follow; they will not be denied.))  July 18, 1969, for Nixon to deliver had that rocket failed to deliver.

Timing was required to be exact down to the millisecond.  I'm in awe with astronauts.  I was very impressionable at age 18; a decade later it was mainly forgotten; now we have Muslim outreach.  There is no man exploration now.

I warned you people on Friday: now we have F. Chuck Todd, NBC, "The memory of Katrina and Bush not dealing with it casts a pall over Tampa."  We'll discuss more when we come back.  Also, the theme of the Republican Convention.
>>> Obama cares about you and is up in one poll by 22% over Romney.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#2:  We need more heroes like Neil Armstrong
April 14, 2012, Neil Armstrong lashed out at Obama when he canceled manned space exploration.  Obama turned NASA into Muslim outreach. Neil Armstrong spoke rarely and did not capitalize on his fame.

Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon, and is a true American hero.
>>> He wrote and sent a letter to President Obama criticizing him.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#6:  Fidel Castro put up his hand, and said, "NO!"
Some models of the hurricane Isaac track are tending westward.  A low pressure to the north could steer it to the west towards Texas.

Lenny Currey reminds people to get on with nominating Romney so we can get on with spending campaign money.  ((Clip-CNN-split-screen: There is much to compare and contrast to [Katrina].))  That is Soledad O'Brien, named after a prison.       {[( Etc. )]}   Cuba government TV showed Fidel Castro walking to the coast, putting up his hand, and saying, "NO!" and the hurricane turned.

Media tries to pressure the Republican Party to cancel their entire convention.  How can they hold a convention when homes and property is threatened?

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#9:  [ED: friends tell me Romney is up in key battleground states]
Wednesday morning at 6am is when New Orleans is to be taken out.   And Bob Dole encourages Mitt Romney to confront the rightwing.  ((Reading: There is a big split in our party—a big divide with Conservatives where you do not dare cross the line.))  Mr Dole, show me where you won.  We have to be more like you?

The Republican landslides came with Conservatism!
God bless Bob Dole, we need to change what wins?
Confront the Leftwing of the Democrat Party and leave us alone.

My Brother and his wife are in town and we are having So.California fun.
Some of the state delegations will make and announce final decisions on Tuesday at the Republican National Convention.
Louisiana has 28 outstanding delegates to assign; Montana has 23 uncommitted delegates; Pennsylvania has 32 uncommitted delegates. Nine other states have small numbers of uncommitted delegates.

Going into the national convention, delegate counts {soft, firm} are: Romney{1,545, 1,399}; Paul{173,100}; Santorum{248,251}; Gingrich{142,143}; Others{1,3}; Available{147,63}; and Uncommitted{30,327}. These totals will change as delegates switch their support to Romney.  For Nomination, 1,144 delegate votes are required.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Road Trip"
Well, he blew his chance. A 56-year-old Democrat who was caught having oral sex with a 17-year-old boy at a rest stop has decided to pull out of his re-election campaign.
Minnesota state Democrat representative Kerry Gauthier told AP that he changed his mind about staying in; it was "just too much" to stay in – he would withdraw. Democrat leaders, including Gov. Mark Dayton, pressured him to abort his campaign. After first defying them, Democrat Kerry Gauthier -- who had a rest-stop Lewinsky with a 17-year-old boy -- came around.
State election officials say he can't be replaced on the ballot, so a write-in candidate must be selected. However, democrats are making moves to replace him -- on the ballot. Yes, if Democrats don't like election laws -- they'll just make up new rules. Just ask Bob Torricelli and Lautenberg.
Meanwhile, Kerry Gauthier will have free time on his hands. Sir -- take a road trip! Go to the Democrat convention-- get a front-row seat -- and take in Bill Clinton's keynote address. Remember, like you, he had oral sex with a youngster. Unlike you, he claimed oral sex isn't sex -- and even if it is, it didn't affect his doing his job, because everybody does it. And everybody lies about doing it. Heck, Clinton was even accused of rape. Legitimate rape.
And he still stands hard and fast -- as a hero -- before throngs of worshipful Democrats. So go to your convention, Mr. Gauthier. Strap on your kneepads, and kneel before the Democrat Master... Bill Clinton. Go for it.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"The reason Obama is so desperate to get Romney's tax returns is because Obama wants to show his base voters what a tax return looks like. "
"Obama's entire campaign consists of trying to scare everybody in his pathetic base of voters about what a bad guy Romney is. His agenda is to try to get people to hate Mitt Romney. That's the Obama second-term agenda, to get you to hate Mitt Romney."
"We're told now that Lance Armstrong didn't win those seven Tours de France, and Penn State didn't win all those football games for ten years. The Soviet Union was never this good at rewriting history. They tried, but they weren't this good."
"If Romney and Ryan win, we're not going to need to wait for calendar 2013 to see movement in the economy. You're going to see immediate economic results."
"The media rips people apart after building them up. It's how small people make themselves feel big. It's how small, irrelevant people make themselves feel like they matter. It's to disqualify achievements of others, or to criticize them, or to destroy them."
"Nike loves guide with 'tude. Nike loves the guys with attitude. They love 'em. They love the guys that skirt the edge."
"How rare it is that a mainstream media outlet actually questions the honesty and veracity of a Democrat. How rare that is that, when it happened last night on CNN, everybody stopped what they were doing and told everybody they knew about it? To me, that alone is an illustration of just how out of whack the media is."
"The only thing the media cares about is the same thing the Democrats care about, and that is defeating (however necessary) conservatives. Tarring, feathering, discrediting -- impugning the character, honesty, and veracity of -- conservatives whatever it takes. The media has joined that."
"I'm going to make a prediction for you. It's going to be fascinating to watch. The Obama bashing at the Republican convention is going to be delicious. It's going to be five-star restaurant type stuff. I mean, you are going to loooove it.:
"There's a lot of inactivity out there in the American private sector, based simply on outrage and fear of what's in store if Obama wins another four years."
"I wouldn't be surprised if Dinesh's movie is maybe the second-highest grossing box office movie of the weekend. I wouldn't be surprised. If it's number three, I would not be surprised. And stop and think: It's a documentary."
"That's what Obama wants people thinking when they think of the government. They'll pay off the mortgage, pay off student loans, and take care of stuff like this. That's what the government is for. That's what being an American is."
"To me, Obama was just the next liberal to come down the pike. And if you know one liberal, you know them all, and there's no such thing as a new one. There's no such thing as some liberal like we've never seen before."
"You know, a journalist being praised by me doesn't help them, 'cause journalists so dislike me."

Here is a note I added as a reader comment to TheBlaze.com
Rush Limbaugh (and I) love the innovation of Apple (in spite of prior Left-leanings, and Algore being on the board, I think); and he says they are three to five years ahead.  He talks about the American way of working hard and achieving success.  And he considers new Apple products to be Christmastime.

Yesterday, John reviewed "2016," the new movie in which Dinesh D'Souza argues that Barack Obama has assumed the anti-colonialist, anti-Western, anti-American, anti-free enterprise perspective of his left-wing, African father. Joe Malchow supplemented John's post and noted that the film is doing well at the box office this weekend. Joe is correct. According to this report, "2016: Obama's America," having expanded from limited to nationwide release this weekend, took in $6.2million ~~~ »

A new Washington Post/ABC survey shows that Mitt Romney has a huge lead over President Obama among married women. The Hill has the details: Married women are strongly backing Mitt Romney, 55%-40%, over Barack Obama. Compare that with 2008 exit polls when Obama won married women with children, 51%-47%, while McCain won married women with no kids 53%-44%. Romney's 15% margin soundly beats both numbers. That 15% is identical to »

Last week, when a poll by a Democratic outfit showed Republican Pete Hoekstra narrowly leading incumbent Debbie Stabenow in the Michigan Senate race, I cautioned that we should wait for more polling before expressing any optimism about this race. Now comes a poll from Mitchell Research that gives Hoekstra a similarly narrow lead. The Mitchell poll has Hoekstra nominally ahead, 45-44. The earlier poll, by FMW, had Hoekstra ahead 48-46. »

Romney's an Extremist, and Obama Isn't? LOL
President Obama's casting of Mitt Romney as extreme is one of the most glaring incidents of political projection in the modern era. Romney doesn't approach extremism in substance, style or disposition. Obama swims in it.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama said Romney has locked himself into "extreme positions" on economic and social issues and would implement them if in office.

Accusing Romney of extremism is just another arrow in Obama's fantasy quiver, because reality just doesn't help him. Romney is anything but extreme, and no serious political analyst believes otherwise. He is certainly extremely bullish on America, American business and the free enterprise system, and he doubtlessly wants to move the nation extremely away from the disastrous course on which Obama is taking it, but that's about the extent of his extremism. Romney's policies are right of center, to be sure, but not extreme, except from the perspective of a radical leftist, which brings us to Obama.

Let's use Obama's bill of particulars against Romney as a yardstick to measure his own place on the political spectrum -- as if it weren't painfully obvious.

Obama says Romney is locked into extreme positions on economic issues because Romney favors across-the-board tax cuts that "would mostly help the rich."   ~~~
