From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Belonging!"
A video shown at the Democrat convention in Charlotte included a line that caused a stir. During the video the narrator claimed: "Government is the only thing that we all belong to."
As criticism swelled, an Obama operative did what this Regime does best: they blamed someone else. "The video in question was produced and paid for by the host committee of the city of Charlotte," the operative said. He claimed neither the DNC nor Obama for America had anything to do with it. Then he chided the Romney campaign for "faux outrage."
Whose convention is this then? Is this the "Host Committee Convention?" Or is the Democrat National Committee's convention, to reelect Obama? It doesn't matter who made the video; what matters is who played the video, and what it said.
Liberals like Obama believe that "government is the only thing that we all belong to." It's exactly what he meant when he uttered the words, "You didn't build that." The government, not the individual, should get sole credit because only the government can use power for good.
Which is why Obama, his Administration, and his Party are so hostile to the private sector. And let's be frank. That's why so many Democrats have problems with religious people. Liberals believe government is the rightful owner of people's souls, and only government is good.
There's a reason somebody thought a video with the line "government is the only thing we all belong to" would fit right in, at a Democrat convention. Because it does!

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"I thought when this guy, Julian Castro, started talking about Democrats lifting themselves up by the bootstraps I thought somebody might grab a hook and yank that guy off the stage. What in the world is he talking about?"
"Nine p.m. came and I swear there were elements of this convention that were more conservative than ours. I know they didn't believe a word of it. They don't believe a word of it, but they've obviously made a marketing decision." [It must be debilitating to the honest Democrats attending, if there are any, to see the willful deceptions and blatant lies of Marxist Progressives!]
"What last night showed, if I may be bold, is that Democrats know they've been governing against the will of the people. That convention proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt. They know this country doesn't want what they really want."
"There was no credit taken for any of the so-called achievements last night, except Sebelius and Rahm both went out to resell Obamacare with the same lies that they told before the vote. 'You get to keep your doctor! You get to keep your plan!' Not true."
"If you need any evidence whatsoever that these Democrats know that they are not what this country wants, the last two hours of that convention last night were the proof. The Democrats tried to pass themselves off as the same as the average Americans that they know live in this country."
"When Michelle Obama was talking about how Obama doesn't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat, Kathryn and I both (at the exact moment) shouted, 'Bullsh...!' at the TV."
"When is the last time you heard a Democrat talk about lifting yourself up by your own bootstraps? It hadn't happened in my lifetime, until last night."
"What is it with these people and the Nazis? If anybody's the Nazis, it's these guys. The Nazi party was the national socialist party. The Nazis believed in universal healthcare. You know, throw the Holocaust out and Hitler is more closely identified with today's Democrats than anybody else. The guy was a vegetarian to boot."
"That convention demonstrated better than anything that's happened yet that they know they are governing against the will of the people. They know that who they really are is out of step with the mainstream of this country. They know it."
"I don't care what speech is given by whom, the Democrats can't change the numbers that represent the economic destruction that equals the record of this administration."
"If Barack cares, why is there so much suffering? If Barack cares, why is there so much struggling? By the way, when did 'struggling' ever get spelled with an h in it? I thought it was 'struggling.' Every time I hear Democrats say it, it's 'str-huggle.'"
"We're supposed to support this guy because he cares and he picked his wife up in a car with a hole in the door and Dumpster dove for a coffee table. The shoes are a half size too small, that stuff doesn't matter to me. And there's nothing she could say last night that would make that matter to me. Twenty-three million Americans out of work matters to me. Economic malaise, collapse, that matters to me."
"Charlotte can fill that stadium. Maybe more than that. I don't know what else they use it for. They just can't find the number of people that want to go. It's no more complicated than that."
"Folks, this moving the speech outdoors to indoors? This is one of the biggest... How can I phrase this? This is one of the most significant events involving Obama in the last six months. This is a huge thing."
"Last night proved that the Democrat Party knows full well they do not have majority support from the people in this country."
"As a performer and judging it as a performance, it was exceptional. It was, as a performance, Michelle Obama's speech was perfection. Looked at through the prism of what she intended it to accomplish. It was flawlessly executed. It could not have been better in terms of performance. But it was all lies. She didn't believe any of it. She didn't believe anything that she said in that speech." [Like the 'two-fer' she was focused like a laser on Progressive deception; they worship at the feet of Saul Alinsky.]
[And the adoring hug of Obama/BClinton was truly symbolic!]

It has always struck me as bizarre that there should be a debate over what city is the capital of Israel. I think back to my own elementary school days, when we learned the capitals. South Dakota: Pierre. (Pronounced "pier," not "Pierre," like a Frenchman's name.) New Hampshire: Concord. Oklahoma: Oklahoma City. How did we know that Pierre was the capital of South Dakota? This is not a trick question: because South Dakota said so. Likewise, how do we know that Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan? Because Pakistan says so. It used to be Karachi, but the Pakistanis changed it to Islamabad. Did anyone question their right to do so? Of course not. It's their capital.
As in so many other situations, Israel stands alone. Israel has named Jerusalem as its capital city. The Knesset meets there, and other government facilities are there. The capital of Israel obviously is Jerusalem. Yet somehow, this has become a controversial proposition; one that was written out of the Democratic Party's platform and that a majority of delegates to the Democratic National Convention are unwilling to accept.
I really cannot understand this. It seems the height of arrogance to tell another country what its capital is. I can't think of another instance in history where this has been done. We bombed Tokyo, but we didn't try to tell the Japanese it wasn't their capital. The fact that liberals–including, apparently, most Democratic Party delegates–want to remain agnostic on Israel's capital is a deep and bitter insult to all Israelis. [How will that play in the 2012 USA election(s)?]

Bill Clinton's stemwinder of a speech supporting President Obama at the DNC last night provided the unexpected twist or two that some pundits had led us to anticipate. But you had to know how to read it. It was a little like Abraham Lincoln's Temperance Address of 1842 — a celebration of sobriety in drunken rhetoric that undermines the celebration. Clinton's support had a satirical edge. In 2008 Obama nicely »

11:38. Bill Clinton is widely considered to have been a successful president. I would argue that to the extent Clinton was successful, he owed that success in considerable part to his response to the smashing Republican victory in the 1994 congressional elections, a response very different from Obama's response to 2010. Be that as it may, getting Clinton's publicly and vehemently expressed "seal of approval" is helpful to Obama. Beyond »

Barack Obama has brought about a lot of change, most of it bad. But perhaps his administration's most shameful legacy is saddling Americans and their children and grandchildren with unprecedented levels of debt. As the Democratic Convention got underway, our national debt reached the staggering total of $16 trillion. That works out to $137,000 per American household, and rising fast. Under Obama's budget, each household will owe $191,000 by 2022. »

So Democrats are pro-choice, right? Well, except on everything else besides abortion, where they are resolutely pro-coercion, as this splendid video from our friends at ReasonTV shows: So let's see: you can choose to have an abortion, but you can't be allowed to choose a 16-ounce bottle of soda. Got it. Still waiting to hear the Democrats talk about freedom down in Charlotte. . . »

Sandra Fluke, one of the weirder figures in public life, just spoke at the Democratic Convention. Her speech was mostly incoherent. She appears to be a person of limited intelligence, which is consistent with being 30 years old and still a student. Her signature issue is contraception: she wants you to pay for her birth control. Is she willing to pay for yours? Not clear. I can't figure that out. »

The media report that Democrats amended their platform yesterday to restore mention of "God" and recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (despite Obama administration policy to the contrary). But that's not quite accurate. The delegates audibly voted against God and Jerusalem three times (video below). But why? You have to wonder. Was it something He said? UPDATE: Abe Greenwald takes a serious look at the boos. »
