Your Rush ECHO for Tuesday 1-3-2012

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Tuesday, 1/3/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening:   Happy New Year, everyone in the audience.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  From 8-10pm in Iowa, Republicans hold their super-straw-poll
I cannot believe how much I was talked about, even when I wasn't here.  The media even credits me for Santorum's rise.  [Rush takes a sip of something to avoid silence. "Not rude..."] Drive-by Media [DbM] is hilarious to watch.

Not to put Iowa down, such a marketing scheme — It's a glorified straw poll.  Since 1979, only three Iowa winners have gone on to win the Republican nomination.  It does not even begin until 8pm tonight.  What do they do before?  Dinner?

It runs until 10pm Central Time.  Happy Hour, what a great Tuesday. David Gipson is the 'go-to' expert in Des Moines for one day every four years.  To DbM, the wackier the news the better.  They are sure to interview Ron Paul.

Dec 21st ((Clip of Rush:  One thing that I know about Rick Santorum: if he were elected, there is not one doubt I have that he would fight for America every day. Not one doubt.))  I said the same thing about Michele Bachman and a few other second-tier candidates.

((DbM clips crediting Rush))   There's the Forehead saying Santorum might win.  ((Clip-Santorum:  You can ignore what pundits say about having a Moderate to win.  You need to be principled to win.))  To add: I wouldn't mind if Perry won Iowa.  It will go on for months.  Democrat Media is using Operation Chaos.

"Operation Chaos" has entered the lexicon and I don't even get credit.

Last night on pmsNBC, Rachel Maddow talks to Heye  ((Clip-Heye:  There is a lot of talk about Democrats being Republican for one day for Operation Chaos.))  We've done it all, including "Reverse Operation Chaos".
>>> "Reverse Operation Chaos" is also a term from EIB.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:  Whichever state would be first could be reversed, finally
A record 119,000 turned out in Iowa to vote in 2008.  People ask and complain about Iowa and NH always having so much sway.  You people in Iowa don't need to phone in — It's fine with me and it all works out.  Whomever doesn't do well can rebound.

The Economy is not bad in Iowa, with 5.7% unemployment.  So why are we doing Iowa first?  Home prices in Iowa are stable compared to others.  Same in NH.

There are so many myths:  the poor-to-rich gap is not getting wider.  People move in and out and into the 'rich' category.
>>> The nomination process all works out over time.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#3:     "This is not Michele Bachmann's time."
Rick Perry is sounding good today on his media rounds.  Some on both sides don't like his TX way to talk slower.  These hopefuls are smarter than their critics.  Mike Allen said members of his staff criticized his campaign.  "Give me a name", Rick Perry responds.  That is pretty smart to subtly point out that he is making it up.

"You tell me who it is and I'll respond;  without a name, [not]."  That's pretty smart and shows Rick Perry is learning.  They used to do that to me and I learned.

For anybody winning the White House and going to the Oval Office, it will be an on-the-job learning experience.  That is why you send a principled person there.  If you send someone there who is calculating, USA will have a problem.

It is the same thing with public speaking.  If you don't stick to your core principles, you need a Telepromter.  You will get caught.  Journalists are taught to destroy people.  None of it is about finding the news.

What news has been made in Iowa today?  None!  All the news will be made tonight.  So it is all about what analysts are thinking, [with a few exceptions.]

I came back from Hawaii before Obama did.  Finally, when the Steelers game became boring, I checked my eMail.  Sarah Palin said, "This is not Michele Bachmann's time; coalesce behind one candidate to go against Romney."

I said to myself, 'OK, who is going to tell Newt Gingrich to pack it in?"  Who is going to select between Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, . . .    What isn't being discussed is Obama. From Politico ((Reading: All that Obama has now is a political machine as he has no record to run on and his numbers are tanking.))
>>> There are robo-calls to draft Hillary Rodham Clinton.
>>>>>   Some say I am putting up the robo-calls.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4:  Will Mitt Romney have the wisdom to listen to Rush Limbaugh?
Gloria Borger was on w/HardBall  ((Clip: Democrats I talk to are worried: economy, unemployment, Obama on defense. 'The other guy will make things worse', is not a positive message.))  The irony is the Republican Establishment thinks Obama cannot lose.  They think money with an incumbent is unbeatable.

((Clip: This is Obama's last year to define himself.  Obama is the only one that can say "I killed UBL" and made the country safer.))  That will appeal to the 99% crowd?  He has already defined himself and everybody knows.

It is not that hard to show contrast. We are sitting on a goldmine.  There is no reason to nominate a Moderate.  That whole model is based on close elections.  With the right candidate, message, and campaign, we are sitting on a Landslide.  I'm not talking to the EIB people sitting here, nor to the EIB audience.
>>> I'm talking to the stupid people that run the Republican Party.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#5:  The Romney Machine took Newt Gingrich out in Iowa
45% of the ads in Iowa were negative ads against Newt. They worked.
>>> That is why you have to define yourself !    Same with Obama:
>>>>>>   Obama can't define himself w/record => and so we will .!.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#6:  It will take a decade to undo the damage caused by Liberals
(Theme Music) Obama is defined.  Our problem is that Republicans won't use it.  We have people on our side saying horrible things about Bachmann, Gingrich, Perry.  Why does the real enemy get a pass?

45% of the ads in Iowa were negative ads against Newt. They worked.  Gingrich was leading in the polls, in Iowa and nationally for a moment.  Newt had not sufficiently defined himself to ward off [the Romney anti-campaign].  It is a circular firing squad.

"We can't criticize Obama because Independents won't like us", but we can criticize out own out of the race and Independents will like that?

A lot of people thought that Newt would implode;  and that is one reason Santorum, Bachman and Perry hang around. They want to be the last one standing when the frontrunner falls.  Nothing is over after Iowa, it is just the beginning.

Obama is defined as a Marxist-Socialist but we hamstring ourselves.  You can call Gingrich a Nazi but you can't call Obama a Marxist?  You have to define yourself and you have to define your opponent.

It is conventional wisdom that Obama will have a billion dollars;  I don't know which to believe, but the Obama Team now says they won't get close to that number.

((Reading: Mitt Romney packed them in before the Iowa voting.  Obama has an Iowa problem.))  Buses of people came in to vote for Obama in Iowa.  Public Policy Polling showed Obama is not popular with his results.
>>> We want to win this and roll some of [Obamacare] back.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7:  Even Drive-by Media admits Limbaugh more than entertaining
Caller-IA:  Economy in Iowa could change with one drought year.
We all care about others in America, even in Iowa.
Caller-PA:  We ordered your Two If By Tea and loved it.
Thank You, we love it too.
Caller (says he is a Black Conservative):  Yes, you have a effect.
>>> I'm minding my own business and DbM says this about me.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8:  EEOC is the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
It's the 20th anniversary of my book, The Way Things Ought To Be and it is still relevant.  It was #1 on the NTYimes bestseller list and was ignored for a full year.  See I Told You So sold just as many and was on the bestseller list for eight weeks.

Some say I should have a 20-year memorial edition;  people tell me every day I should write a new book.

Would asking for a HS diploma violate human rights? ((Reading:  Unable to graduate because of a learning disability, when the diploma is not required.))  The Obama EEOC is not surprising.  Requiring an education to get a job is dumbed down.  It punishes achievement and heralds the lack of it.  It is all about getting votes with class envy.

((Reading: It could have a negative effect.))  You think?  So you can get a job without finishing high school and it will have a negative effect on teens?  Once you go down this road, abient behavior is excused.  It shows a country in decline.

We cannot give reasons to reach high, but give them excuses to reach nowhere.  Lawsuits will move in if it gets applied.
>>> It's already in practice w/ small bus. already afraid of government.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9:  Reporters not able to work to find out Iowa/USA thinking
Cut to the chase and say, "Not having a job is a disability that cannot be discriminated against, or not being a citizen of USA."  Where does it end?

But, there is a silver-lining: taxpayers won't have to for pay their school lunch.

Caller: Newt said, 'clearly I will be the nominee' and jinxed it. He imploded.
He was simply trying to be positive and instill confidence in his supporters.  Bit it came across as arrogance.  Before he announced, I had breakfast with him and others and said it would be over soon after his announcement.  In 20 minutes he told us all how he would win the nomination.

It is not ego out of control with Newt Gingrich.  He is trying to give people something to latch onto.

Caller:  Obama is not going to hold in Iowa.
There, and in other states.  In a sane world, this guy would not even be a consideration.  Problem is: this is a Democrat Party gone over the cliff.

Parents look at the future and present and see their 30-yr-old kids living at home and some without work opportunities.  There is nothing sane about the media and the politics today.  I am 60 and have not seen this kind of destruction of this nation and the fabric of America.  Nobody knew the landslide against Jimmy Carter until after it had happened.  That is why I counsel to not get caught up in DbM non-reporting.  The real world does not have news until after a few primary elections.
>>>  The thinking of real Americans is revealed only when they vote.
Peter Jennings called the House victory in 1994 as a voter tantrum.
Those in Drive-by Media are not living in Reality until after Landslides.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#10:  So Rupert Murdock supports Santorum in Twitter.
>> Mrs Murdock comments that he just likes to 'tweet' the media.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Rush Limbaugh wants a Conservative who can win, some can
(Music) It's being reported and I can't believe that nobody is talking about the bill Obama signed in Hawaii.  It is total totitarianism.  They can put citizens in jail without a lawyer. "Don't worry. I'm not going to do it."

Well he can detain citizens with no reason, as can a future president.  Where is the ACLU and the Leftist?  This is an affront.  Legal Beagals has a post. The UK Guardian asked to publish it.

The IRS and DoJ tries to grab power.  "Tell us about Swiss bank accounts or we will sue you out of existence", says Eric Holder.  In California, 'John Doe summons are used to find parents who transfer money to their children for homes.'

The entire Democrat Party and the Occupy Crowd will cheer this.

Regarding totalitarianism, Senator Levin notes that Obama required being able to retain citizens be in the bill.  I'm telling you what is in the bill, and what is in the signing statement.  Let's define doing something wrong:  You say something about a leader like Hugo Chavez and you go to jail there.

Speaking about him, USA spread cancer via CIA, says Chavez.  How did we know 50 years ago whom we wanted to give cancer to in 2011?  And if we did, now come he is still alive.  With chemo he swelled up like a balloon.  You say that in Venezuela and you find yourself in jail.

Rick Perry is on a full-court press, coming across great!  He always brings me joy when he speaks.  I like Santorum and I love Bachmann. Will we be surprised like with Howard Dean losing in Iowa?  In '04 he barely came in 3rd place.  Polling data didn't indicate, and ever pundit was 'shocked'.

After that, they chose only on 'electability' which is stupid if the only reason.

Rick Perry tied Mike Allen into a prezel ((Clip:  You got a name? [repeat, repeat]))
>>> >>>    Doesn't sound like somebody 'stupid' to me!

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12:  Steeler vs Broncos NFL game will be played Jan 8th 4:30pmET
Caller: Can Denver Bronco Tim Tebow pull off an upset over Steelers?
It is not going to be pretty :: #1 vs #2 in Defense.

Reason Tim Tebow makes Left uncomfortable is because he shows up deficiencies that they have.  They don't like that.  They don't like Tim Tebow doing well.  After Tebow started succeeding, they soft-peddled.  They still want him to fail.  I'm talking about national sports reporters.

>>> The Steeler vs Broncos game has potential to be 'not pretty'.
Where: at Denver Broncos, Invesco Field; When: Sunday, Jan. 8 at 4:30 p.m. EST

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  Rush Limbaugh likes the great field of Republican hopefuls
One poll has 41% as 'undecided' in the Iowa Hawkeye Cauci.
((Clip Santorum ad:  Rush Limbaugh said it would be great if he is elected.))  ((Clip-CNN: Romney has been cautious and people didn't see the fire. They do now and come to terms with it.))  Joe Kline is driving around in the cornfields, feeling he is in a foreign land. Does anybody live in the cornfields?  He is listening to the radio.

Snerdley, is that what you heard last week?  {Bo off-mike:  "Not at all."}  ((Clip:  I can quote Mark Steyn who said Gingrich would blow up like Yosemite Sam.))  I never listen to EIB when I am on vacation, traveling.

((Clip-Senate-floor:   Everybody believes we ought to have this bill, except Grover Norquist and Rush Limbaugh.))  That works?  Do you even know who Grover Norquist is?  He wants people to sign a no-tax-raises pledge.

Caller-Iowa:  When we hear $16trilion deficits, we fear here also.
Even if we stop now, does that fix everything?  Hardly.  You are saying Iowans are patriotic, not suffering in your cornfield, you care for the whole country.

Caller-Iowa:  We know that need the little nitch to go first in primaries.  I'm a caucus leader and torn about who to support.
>>> We have a great field of candidates going into Iowa.

>>> Andrea Mitchell says that Iowa is too White to represent America.

Seg#15:  So when did Evangelicals become negatives to pmsNBC?
>>> Would they say this about the religion of Obama ?  Did they ?
Closing:   See you tomorrow.

Learned from WSJ Online:
Mitt Romney is focusing on what he sees as the central decision facing voters: the choice between his vision for an "opportunity society" and the "entitlement society" he says is favored by President Barack Obama.
Fed officials will begin to publish their forecasts for interest rates later this month, part of a communications revamp that could help bolster the fragile U.S. economic recovery.
            Read the Fed's statement
Iowa holds its presidential caucuses tonight, the first Republican nominating contest in what has been the most volatile primary in recent memory.
