Your Rush ECHO for Wednesday 1-11-2012

The great speech of Mitt Romney — you should read it if you missed it:

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Today, 1/11/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening:   Elite Republicans have second thoughts.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  Rush Limbaugh is aghast that Romney aligns with Obama
This is great, that the Establishment Republicans are having second thoughts about the Romney Wave.  Once, Bill Clinton was asked about his attack ads, and it is part of campaigning.  I didn't watch TV last night. Romney gets his nominating votes.

The people that voted for Ron Paul were not Republicans.  80% of those voting say they will just vote against Obama.  The Ron Paul voters cannot be counted on;  and some Democrats walked in claiming to be 'independent' and voted also.

Exit polling data from Fox answered a lot of questions.   57% of Ron Paul voters were not Conservative voters.  Romney wants Ron Paul to stay in and pound away at distractors who could move to second or third.

Even Sarah Palin says it would be a Huge Mistake to reject the Ron Paul voters.

From the Hill.com (you are not going to like this)  Jonathan Easley ((Reading: Mitt Romney took the attacks and turned them against President Obama.  On Bain Capital, Romney said on CBS that what he did was no different from what Obama did bailing out the auto industry.))  You've got to be kidding me!

Are you sitting down?  ((Reading on: He closed factories and laid off thousands and thousands of workers to try to save the business.))  So Romney is accepting the Gingrich and Perry premise that he went in with a chainsaw.  When you are the leader in the Republican Primary, you don't give approval to the opposition.

I did leave out the possibility that this is mis-reported by Drive-by Media.

A SC newspaper says Newt Gingrich is going to meet with James Clyburn.
>>> Newt's people say it isn't true — being spread by operatives.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:  Why did Romney compare himself to remaking America?
To be clear, Romney also said this on Dec 20th with Bill O'Reilly. His comment today just accepts the premise of Gingrich and Perry.  Would Romney take over GM like Obama did?

Why would a Republican hopeful shield himself by hiding behind Obama?

Also, it is absurd that Obama wanted to save more than the unions.  He believe that America is flawed, and turns General Motors over to the workers, like Elizabeth Warren wants, "the rightful owners".  Toss profitability.
>>> And to compare your own efforts to that, Lord Help Us.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#3:  Do Romney advisors think they prevent future criticism?
Romney gave his best speech ever, "Victory Speech in NH".  Someone needs to remind Mitt Romney that he is nothing like Obama.

Obama is not just in over his head:  he has a plan and an Agenda.  He wants to make the scales even and level America.  It is payback time.  It is "how do you feel now" time, taking it away from the people that founded it, and giving it to those that have been paid unfairly.  It is Socialism/Marxism.

I didn't watch TV last night;    even Steven Schmidt (McCain advisor who says I have no influence) was talking about my influence.  I told you what I had heard about Ross Perot and how he wanted to take Bush Sr out and gave the election to Clinton.

I did not mean to say that Newt Gingrich doesn't want to win;  just that he pulls a 'Ross Perot' to stick it to Romney.  96% of ads are negative spending by super PACs.  Newt says it all lies [ED: what are the lies?]    I'm just explaining.

Newt has bought significant ad time on this program, that's OK.  This audience is intelligent enough to shift through ads.  Would we accept an Obama ad?  Probably, if paid up front.

Caller-MN: Does Romney do a preemptive strike so Obama won't bring it up.
The answer is that "They are the media" and can anyway.

CBS Morning Show, Charlie Rose interviewing Mitt Romney  ((Clip: Can you defend that you were a destructive force?.  . . .  We started a number of businesses and created tens of thousands of jobs.  Obama did it to try to save the business.  I'll go to Washington and try to cut it down to size, too big.))
>>> Obviously, the thinking is: 'Criticize Romney and be a hypocrite.'

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#4:    Continue on offense to define Obama and Marxism
Barack Obama is not a capitalist.  If you wade into the pool of saying why you save a business, there is a better way. Obama is going to have to be properly defined. There is nothing about the GM/Chrysler takeover that was benevolent.

((Clip-Romney: I stand ready to lead us to success for Americans . . .  It is a fight for the soul of America   . . .  He want to turn us into a European state, we want to keep America with vision.   . . .  I'll cut and cap the national budget   . . .  He brought Obamacare, I'll repeal it.))  I would say it even stronger.

Is Obama trying to save our military by cutting our forces?  NO!  Democrats may talk about streamlining by cutting 80,000 but they do it to spend the money elsewhere.  They want to buy votes.
>>> Obama and Democrats want to cut 'the focus of evil' down to size.
Liberal Democrats look at our USA Military as the focus of evil for the whole world.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#5:  And The Republican Establishment is nervous with Romney
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#6:  DNC chair 'Blabbermouth' Schultz makes Rush laugh
(Theme Music) Understand, I am trying to help.  All I want is for Obama to lose.  Outside of family, it is my top passion.  [Rush returns to Charlie Rose interview.] There was nothing capitalistic with Obama;  no, Bain Capital was not like Obama.

Romney says he feels sorry for DNC chair Debbie Blabbermouth who has to defend Obama, but he does also.  Today Romney stands in the shadow of Obama.  He defends what he did at Bain by telling what Obama did with GM, which is not what was done at Bain.   Does the Romney advisory team see it?

Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz went on to say Romney only won by 39%.

((Clip-Harry-Belafonte on Smiley & West:  I think about Barack Obama and everything at stake here.  I am cautious about those that think he has a secret Agenda. We should see what he has in mind next.))  He can't raise the sickle and hammer flag until the second term.  The only one not lying is Jeremiah Wright, and they have him muzzled.  [Belafonte sounds very, very old and disabled.]

((Clip-on:  Obama doesn't have the moral compass now.))
> > >    And so Belafonte will vote Romney?   No.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#7:  Obama stomps on the Constitution right before our eyes!
Shortly after I moved to New York in 1980, I was invited to see Whitney Houston concert in Madison Square Garden.  I heard people shouting, "Get out of here;  you had nothing to do with her success."  The crowd started mocking Harry Belafonte, "You are a free-loader."  It was a learning experience to me.

Caller: Is Obama in over his head or does he have an Agenda?
He is breaking laws and the Constitution right before our eyes!  He makes 'recess appointments' when the Senate is not in recess.  He sues AZ for protecting their own borders.  It is clear what he thinks, "White Man's greed, runs a world of need."  Obama says this in interviews.  It's not just racial.

Imagine this:  Michelle Obama is mad that she is being portrayed as mad.

Caller: Fact is that Gingrich gave advice with no lobbying to Freddie/Fannie.
>>> Yes, and he has been defending himself. Thanks for the call.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#8:    Gulp.  "What  . . .  do . . .  we . . . do . . . now?"
We do real news here, from Reality.
Caller-NY: We insist our candidate support Capitalism, not make excuses.
It is an intricate web of deceit spun by Liberals.  Our candidate needs to know how to explain it.  If not, it does more damage bringing it up.  Reagan had multiple talents to teach, without supporting media and blogs.  He was likeable and explained benefits as he went along.  He worked for personal freedoms by reducing government.

Our side is so afraid of being critical because of the precious Independents.

[[Reading Matt Thomas http://spectator.org/archives/2012/01/10/mitts-masquerade What happens if Mitt Romney gets the Nomination?]]  Let me explain The Establishment thinking:  make sure a Conservative does not get the nomination — not to beat Obama.  They think Obama can't be beat.

Now, they face for the first time what they have given themselves: that Romney may beat Obama.  They gulp.  "OK, …...,   what  . . .  do . . .  we . . . do . . . now?"  Now you will see punditry discuss Romney short-comings.
>>> Establishment Republicans in media didn't look at that before.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9:  Establishment Elites are seeing Mitt Romney might win?
Matt Thomas writes about the lack of coverage on Romney  ((Reading)) It goes on to compare Romney to JFKerry, (who served in Vietnam).  JFKerry retook Boston Harbor, "Reporting for duty", the guy who chucked medals over WH fence.

L.A.Times, Jonah Goldberg ((reading: "Romney's Authenticity Problem"))  National Review has been 'for' Romney.  ((Reading-on: He sleeps through Republican primaries.  It is not that he doesn't have fans, and yet, the non-Mitt mood will not go away.  Will he be able to beat Obama?))  When did this doubt begin?  They racked Gingrich over the coals, making Romney 'the guy'.  He writes on his own website and not for National Review.
>>> Bottom Line:  "Wait a minute", heard for the first time. Just saying.
ED: What is bad for Liberals and RINOs is good for America.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#10:    Elite focus had been to prevent a Conservative.
>>>> Now they are nervous that Mitt Romney might win nomination.
ED:  It could have been his great and conservative New Hampshire speech.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Do Elite Republicans work to win WH or just stay in power?
(Music) ((Reading Jonah Goldberg:  Romney would be a referendum against Obama, BUT voters would vote against Obama with anyone.  Maybe they won't, it feels less guaranteed every day.))  Before today we were told that only Romney could win.  Now it's changed?  Podhoretz is the same.

Why do they say it?  'Passion' seems to be lacking.  There is passion for Tim Tebow.  Ron Paul supporters may be lunatics, but they have passion.  Sarah Palin had passion.  [Rush should have watched the acceptance speech last night.]

Bill Crystal refers to The Gospel of Wealth and it is the reason those within the Beltway are there.  They are elected as poppers and retire as multi-millionaires.

This new-found concern for Romney among NE elite Republicans is a turn-around and has to do with their desire to control wealth, for themselves and the nation.  Two things make the world go around: money and love/lust.
> IDEAS are not as high on the list in Washington was we would hope.
[ED: In my humble opinion, Rush is sending mixed messages. He thinks deep!]

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#12: Rush Limbaugh says his 'pushback' is not that big of a deal.
One more thing:  last paragraph of Goldberg piece. ((Reading: Every four years, pundits talk about a brokered convention if no one has 50%.)  This is the first time I have heard this — where was this six months ago?

eMail of Truck-driver: [Tax Resolution Services, an EIB ad.]  File ASAP.

((Montage commenting on Rush comments:  Went on the attack, "using the language of the Left" . . .  Amazing for Romney to get his comment.))  That is every network you can think of.  Schmitz ran the campaign for McCain and said I don't change the way people vote.  ((Clip-Schmitz: The attacks on Romney are grotesque distortions . . .  huge pushback including Rush Limbaugh.  It will be a litmus test on what is, and what is not, Conservatism.))

((Clip-Sununu:  I don't have to say anything;  Club for Growth, and Rush Limbaugh, and in established Conservative circles, they do not like Newt and what he is doing.))

((Clip-Rush:  Just put on the tag, "I'm Obama and approve the ads of Newt.))

((Clip: Romney will resonate with Conservatives.))  Hey, I didn't run the line of attack and using the language of the Left.  What I am is 'pushback'.   Rick Perry was on Fox and Friends this morning.  We'll play that clip in the next segment.
>>> I didn't lead off with this because it is not that big of a deal.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  We need a candidate to support and explain American Dream
((Clip-Perry: Bain Capital and Romney used harsh tactics.  People are not interested in making money on the backs of common people, vulture capitalism.)) This is sad and absurd.  I like Rick Perry and had high hopes.  This is the language of Leftists like Stone and Moore, Chavez and Castro.

The current WH occupant is stomping on free capitalism.  Our standard bearers should be the first to speak up for American capitalism. Do lifetime politicians understand economics?  It is like a cartoon: why pick on the one thing Romney is conservative about?  His private sector business experience.  Our freedoms are being chipped away everyday.  Wait till Obamacare starts.

This is the kind of thinking that gave us Dodd-Frank.  This thinking gave us new regulations and rules like under Sarbanes-Oxley [Mark-to-Market].  It is the language exactly opposite Conservatism.

Don't misunderstand:  I am all for going after each other, and learning how to defend.  I try to find a rainbow under every pot.  I'm all for vetting candidates and finding out if they can defend themselves, but not to tear down the engine of our American economy.  All Capitalism is, is the American Dream, for crying out loud.  How hard is it to say that and explain that.
>>> Folks, saying Capitalism is bad, isn't 'cool'.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#14:  Army reservist Dean Glossop straightens Gingrich out
((Music))  Pick a dollar figure: guess at $$ to add sand to our coasts, or flying jets.  See www.DirtySpendingSecrets.com which will surprise you and help you send letters to Congressmen.  It's all about the power of money they crave.

Caller: Vulture Capitalism? Our reps use inside-trading. You hoped he would fail.
Pundits are comfortable using the words 'failed administration' now; but Obama has not failed in his efforts.  It would take an hour to replay.

This president is not America succeeding when he succeeds.  Can you see it?

Newt Gingrich backs off his criticism of Bain Capital and Romney.  He was asked to at a book signing by an Army reservist.
>>> Newt Gingrich was signing his books in South Carolina.

S#15:  I'll get to other 'stuff' tomorrow: cars lead to heart attacks.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Banned"
The largest attack on America's energy sector comes from, where else, the Obama Regime. Early Monday, word began to filter out that Ken Salazar, the Regime's Minister of the Interior, would impose a ban on new uranium mining claims.
The ban will take a million acres offline, under the guise that the land is too close to the Grand Canyon. So for the next 20 years, there will be no uranium mining allowed. In June, with the ban in the works, Salazar said: "Like our ancestors, we do not know how future Americans will enjoy, experience and benefit from this place. And that's one of the many reasons why wisdom, caution, and science should guide our protection of the Grand Canyon."
What a load! The Grand Canyon isn't in danger. If our "ancestors" were beholden to environmentalist wackos like the Obama Regime is – America would be a Third World nation! It was our "ancestors" who discovered and used our national resources to create an industrial and military superpower eclipsing societies thousands of years old.
Obama and his minions like Ken Salazar, who likes to run around with his cute little cowboy hat, aren't protecting anything but their environmental-kook campaign money. With this ban, the Keystone pipeline delays, the EPA attacks on the coal industry,  this Regime is systematically making us a weaker, more dependent nation. They kill jobs, put our resources off limits,  and harm our future.
In November, turnabout is fair play. End their future! Politically speaking, of course, you see.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"Newt is trying to dredge up long-lasting negatives and attach them to Romney (this is what's so unsettling about this) in the same way the left would. You could, after all these Newt bites, say, 'I'm Barack Obama, and I approve this message.'"
"You must always remember that while the news media will get into every nook and cranny and detail about the so-called defects and problems with Republicans, at the same time they are outwardly, purposefully ignoring any negatives associated with Obama."
"Obama equals high taxes, period."
"For those of you who play Monopoly, Romney is now the old guy with the tuxedo and the top hat."
"We as Republicans, we as conservatives, do not hate capitalism. We don't oppose capitalism and we do not want to talk about capitalism the way the left does. And we're certainly not gonna push our candidates to the right in the process of coming at them from the left like this."
"Profits are evil, they are so evil that even people on our side duck the discussion."
"I'm not defending Bain. I'm not defending Romney. I'm not defending Newt. I'm not defending Santorum. I am defending capitalism and conservatism."
"I don't care what happens in an economy, something that happens which affects positively a lot of people is going to affect some people negatively."
"The subprime mortgage crisis had no relationship to capitalism. Capitalism would not permit the subprime mortgage crisis. Capitalism does not permit the bailout of failed institution after failed institution, which is what TARP was."
"You know, all these people standing up and defending capitalism today didn't care a whit about it when it was under siege with the subprime mortgage crisis, and didn't care a whit about it when TARP was proposed."
"Every time Obama wants to spend another trillion dollars, what are we told? 'It's crisis. It's an emergency. We don't have time for debate. We don't have time for the usual congressional hearings. We don't have time for the usual congressional testimonies. We don't have time.'"
"If you just let capitalism take hold, you don't need TARP. And capitalism has a very functional aspect to it. Businesses fail, the result of people doing something they shouldn't be doing, doing it in a bad way, making a mistake, it's the result of people not wanting the product or not wanting a service. It fails, you go back, you try it again, try to get it right."
"I am surrounded by negativism. It takes a concerted effort on my part every day to avoid it, to not be affected by it. I can't tell you tell you the amount of pessimism that's out there over this and a number of other things."
"Folks, it is clear here (to me, anyway) what's really going on. This is not a campaign for the presidency. That's not what this is anymore. This is payback time. This is Newt. It drove him nuts, that series of ads the Romney super PAC ran against him in Iowa, and this is the result of it."
"No matter who it is, when the subject of profits comes up on our side, they usually duck it and run for the hills, which is maddening."
"Michael Moore makes his career attacking capitalism. We don't need to do that on our side."
"Whoever the Republican nominee is, is going to have to be pushed to the right in the campaign, if we are to win. We are not going to win when we say things about ourselves that the Democrats are also saying. There will be no difference. Since when do Republicans hate capitalism? We don't."

The South Carolina contest got off to a mild start as Gingrich barely mentioned Romney, fresh off his New Hampshire victory, at a campaign event in Rock Hill. The Jan. 21 primary there could represent the final chance to derail the front-runner.

Cheap energy = wealth, and expensive energy = poverty. That correlation is obvious, so the Obama administration has to pretend that it is not suppressing American energy development, even as it does everything in its power to make us poorer. The administration's latest misleading claim is that leases for energy exploration on public lands increased by 20% in 2011. That is true, but what Obama fails to note is that »
