Your Rush ECHO for Thursday 1-19-2012

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Thursday, 1/19/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening:   I just saw the Marianne Gingrich video.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#1:  How will Marianne's video affect South Carolina voting?
I think DNC needs to give Newt a second look.  He got along with Bill Clinton and gave great respect to Hillary.  And he was polite enough to ask his second wife for permission to have an 'open' marriage.  We were told "sex doesn't matter".

What about the former girlfriends and boyfriends of Barack Obama?  We still know nothing, not vetted.  Has Newt enhanced his resume?  An eMail suggests he uses a motto, "Hell Yes! I wanted it."

ABC suits were in an ethical fight; I almost wrenched my gut laughing.  The only debate was when to create the most harm.  I think Drudge messed them up.  Reporting on Mitt Romney tithing was ABC journalistic malpractice.  It was all legal when you read to the end. The second point was about after-tax money invested offshore, also legal.

You have Santorum winning Iowa (with missing votes) and I think ABC was saving Marianne till after the weekend, Romney out, and whom are we left with?  Santorum and Ron Paul — thinking they give it to Obama.  ABC has even assigned someone to check into the polygamy of Romney's grandfather.

Media ignored multiple wives of Obama's father.  How did they get hold of Marianne?  She gave interviews to Esquire magazine a few years ago.  ABC knows they have a president who can't win on his record.  Are journalists faithful to their wives, pure as snowflakes?  Or do they pass judgment of, say, Brian Ross?  How did he get his degree?

You are waiting for me to comment? What is there to say?  It is out there.  50% of the population has been divorced.  DbM knew Newt played around; they knew Clinton played around.  At some point there will be a backlash against the media.  Many will not want them to clear our field.

I didn't know that Newt asked for an open marriage.  Maybe Snerdley did, he is more aware of sex.  I know Marianne and she was not comfortable with the public eye.  Newt told her, "You knew what you were marrying."
>>> It remains open how all of this will play out.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:  Does Mitt Romney know how to defend himself ?    Will he ?
W-Post has a separate Marianne interview coming.  Remember how The New York Times and W-Post would get nowhere near John Edwards leaving his cancer-stricken wife.  They wouldn't report it until dragged in.

Caller:  If it is Obama vs Gingrich, I'm writing in 'Santorum'. I'm Conservative.
You are acting like Gingrich is not conservative.  JFK and Jackie also had an open marriage.

They are taking Romney out and . . .
>>> . . . Romney doesn't know how to defend himself.  [Rush's opinion.]
ED:  What's to know?   You tell the Truth and hit back hard.
ED2:  btw, Karl Rove says now is the time to explain Bain Capital.
ED3:    Watch the CNN debate of Republicans tonight, or record it.
Is Rush saying Mitt should be like Newt and hit back with sound-bite wisdom?

_____________________________________________________________
S#3:  Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, are not taking over car companies
I'll save Snerdley's prediction about callers today.  We'll see if he is right.  This is why I never endorse in primaries.  Who would have predicted Santorum and Romney would be the two left standing going into February.  And Gingrich may survive the storm.  I have no idea how this is going to play out.

There are some things that I do know:   this country is precariously balanced on the edge, and which way it goes will determine America as we have known it.  Also, I know it has been caused by Democrats and Obama.  They are living like a king and a queen.  Our nominee will be taking a pay cut.

None of the Republican hopefuls are responsible for the real unemployment if 16%.  It is all because of Barack Obama.  We have Republicans trying to correct course, and all media does is blame them and try to take them out.  They are trying to clear the deck because they know that everyone knows it is Obama causing problems.  They are people of privilege and have not had real jobs.  Michelle got $350,000 from a hospital in a 'no-show' job when her husband got elected.

Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, are not taking over car companies;  that would be Obama.  They have not grown the federal budget by $5Trillion.  Starting in 2013, the budget is already spent for two years.

How much money has Obama thrown after frauds of Green Jobs like at Solyndra?  Then there is Obamacare redefining freedom and liberty.  That's not our candidates, it is all from Obama.  The gasoline pump price had doubled since Obama took office.

Romney has done more for jobs with Olympics and Bain Capital than Obama has done as president of the United States.

In this downturn, what personal sacrifices have the Obamas made?  Nothing.  I'm not saying the actions of Gingrich don't matter—I'm just sharing the way I feel, that four more years of Obama and it won't matter.

Often there are things larger than ourselves.  I very rarely tell you what to do.
>>>  >>>    I respect your intelligence too much.
I'll tell you: Snerdley's prediction was that most callers will be women.
Rush adds: "That is not hard to predict", and jokes, "What man would complain?"

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4:  Rush Limbaugh wants Romney to take the gloves off ?
How do we know Marianne is telling the truth?  It is just assumed in DbM?

I think pmsNBC Hilamann is right ((Clip:  If they go against Obama with a damaged Nominee, the top levels of GOP will be rethinking.))  I had said top levels of GOP wanted to win down the ballot like in the Senate and holding the House, but didn't expect Romney to win against Obama. Will they want Herman Cain back?

There is too much that can happen.  Daniel Henninger writes that Bain Capital helped save America when it needed it most.
>>> Romney could defend himself better.    [Save your fire.]
ED:  Karl Rove says put the Bain Capital our there now.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#5:       Sit right there . . .  and 'hang on' . . .
>>> We'll be right back — We are just getting warmed up.
KFI: Rick Perry sentence implies that Newt is more conservative than Mitt.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#6:  Rick Perry needed more practice before the first debate
(Theme Music) I'm looking at polling on Gingrich: Gingrich 33%, Romney 31%, and the lead story is not Marianne Gingrich.  The lead story is "How will the Perry endorsement help Gingrich?"  The ABC story is not having an impact.

Two people from the same state tell me they are being called by the Left-leaning Public Policy Polls for ideas for Obama's State of the Union Address.  They are asking how would it be for Obama and DoJ to press for Wall Street banks and potential jail time.  "Would it make you more likely to vote for him and/or donate to his campaign?"  It's a Liberal polling service.

Wouldn't it be funny in a debate for one of our candidates to preempt this:  "Hold investigations to include Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Fannie & Freddie."

Kathryn didn't want me to come into day so I wouldn't step in anything.  I told here [laughing]  "NO, you have to learn to share me."  I had to get the line in.

((Clip-Perry:  Conservatism is a movement greater than any one of us.  As a former Air Force pilot I do not lose track of the mission.))  He endorses the Newtster.  ((Clip-on: Newt is not perfect, but who among us is?  There is forgiveness when asked of God.  Tell those in Washington to 'take a hike'.))  What is so funny in there?  That's a tenet in SC, forgiveness even in open marriage.  I assume Newt has stopped doing it.

Rick Perry is a class act (and they pile on him).  I was doing a fund-raiser and Kay Bailey Hutchinson was opposed by Rick Perry.  I got calls that he would try to have a photo-op suggesting I supported him.  Like all big stars, I was concerned about being used.  He didn't crash the event, gave a great introduction of me, and did not behave in a way to take advantage.  I really liked him, a 'heart-and-soul' conservative.

George W Bush in private could go 45 minutes and take no breath, and was not that way on TV.  Rick Perry has a charismatic smile and every time I look at him, I laugh.
> Rick Perry is great; that person did not show up in the early debates.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7:  Will the moral compass of Gingrich be better than Obama's ?
Caller: You were great during the Clinton years.  Marianne will backfire.
What percentage of divorced couples are friends?  Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?  Then there is 'battered-spouse-syndrome'.  I am not condoning. Keep perspective of saving America by getting rid of Obama.

We don't know how Marianne is coming off until Nightline airs it after the debate.  Will CNN ask Newt how he feels about 'open' marriages?  Try 100% [chuckle from Rush]

Caller: Newt's background pales to the empty suit Liberals elected.
Prior lady caller was a Santorum supporter, writing him in if necessary.  Keep the focus of perspective.  Voters are going to have to answer:
>>> Whose moral compass will save America?  Obama's or Newt's.
ED: In the CNN debate, the video will be the stinky elephant in the room.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8:  Newt Gingrich asked for a mistress, not "an open marriage"
Do you want to hear any of the CBS released clips with Brian Ross and Marianne Gingrich?  ((Clip-Marianne:  I told him we had been married a long time . . . etc.))  And Brian Ross says what he didn't know before  ((Clip: That he wanted to remain married and still have Callista as a mistress. He wanted an open marriage.   . . .  After asking for a divorce he left to give a speech on family values, she said.))

I am a stickler for language:  He didn't want an open marriage, he wanted a mistress.

An open marriage is where both partners have other partners, and there was even a book on it.  An eMail says, ours was the horniest generation, and we should be getting disability for what war put us through. "Socrates's retreat" was to walk away with honor.

Before Drudge broke the story, all the ABC stories were about Romney.  ABC had to admit at the end of their article admits there was nothing illegal, and the first of the story implied he was hiding money.  ABC, NBC, and CBS are in a race to see who can do the best for Obama.  [Right here, there is a bleep-out of six seconds.]  Should they do it before or after to have the greatest effect.

ABC wanted to take out both Romney and Gingrich in one week.  But for Drudge, they would have held the video until after the debate.  This is what DbM journalism has become.  They do not vet Democrats but they try to take out good Republicans.  [Rush becomes passionate again and lists the current crisis elements.]  ABC is not concerned about saving USA from Gingrich.

What DbM is about is clearing the decks for Obama to continue.

I met Larry Arne of Hillsdale University and talked about the current culture of America.  Beyoncé took a whole floor for the birth of their daughter.  Jay-Z did not discontinue the use the words, 'bitch' and 'hoe' just because of the birth of his daughter.  That was misreported in DbM.
>>> In the rap culture, that is treason and he had to correct it.
They paid $1.3million for the hospital floor to birth "Ivy Blue Carter".

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Obama got into politics to replace Reagan boom w/Socialism
(Music) Networks are not playing the video only because they don't have it yet.  They can only show what ABC releases, prior to ABC showing it tonight.

A friend sends an eMail asking if I have written off Santorum.  Precisely because of this stuff I am not endorsing.  The news is the concerted effort and Santorum will get his turn.  I've got nothing against Santorum.  Anyone can beat Obama and what ABC is doing here proves it!

I don't have the say-so and ability to choose our Nominee.

Newt and Santorum have no money.  There are ten media markets in Florida, face reality.  Santorum doesn't have the organization in Florida.  Gingrich had a great debate and seemed surging in SC.

"Bain Capital Saved America" in WSJ is a better defense by Henninger than by Romney himself.  It is unsettling he hasn't defended his business accomplishments: maybe it is modesty.  We were saved from becoming like Europe.

It was an exciting time in the 1980s, and history was rewritten.  That decade lasted all through the 1990s.  It lasted until Bill Clinton slowed down the Reagan boom.  To be honest, it is relevant now because Obama wrote in his autobiography that he went into government to bring in socialism and roll back the Reagan boom.  That was his second book, The Audacity of Hope.

It is the second great article from Henninger, the first said Romney would need to be nudged to the right.

Another 'oppps' moment from Joe Bite-Me Biden:
> "Giants are on the way to the Superbowl" speaking in San Francisco.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12:  CRITICAL ADVISE TO ROMNEY:  Do not work w/Democrats !
Caller-IN:  What do you think about Keystone pipeline and Klondike?
Barack Obama and his base hate oil and press Green Jobs.  He has to secure his wacko base.  They believe the hoax and fraud of Global Warming.  So no 20,000 new jobs or cheaper gasoline. Obama works against America and it is outrageous.  Obama is a keystone cop.

If he were not working so hard to dismantle America, I would say he is a joke.  Then he blames it on Republicans.  He reminds me of the Italian ship captain.  Obama said he needed more time than the 60 days Republicans gave him.  Robert Redford swayed Obama.  Is he 'laser-focused' on jobs?

Caller: Newt can get the Independent votes.  Did Clinton?
They didn't think it was a big deal to have sex with an intern.
Caller: Romney didn't get the message of Scott Brown: "single message".
Caller: We do not like Romney saying he will "work with the other side".
>>> EXACTLY !      Consultants are advising him to do that.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  A Liberal seminar caller makes the host look good
((Clip-Newt:  Robert, come over, my grandson. He's very good advice, to keep it shorter and clearer.  . . .  My granddaughter counts my smiles and says for me to smile more in debates.))  That was a campaign event in SC today after the ABC news story hit.

NBC Marist poll says candidates attack each in campaigns, 64% polled.  What do the other 36% say?   Dana Perino is on The Five of FNC.  Angela Tarantula was host last night and played my comment that we do not see Americans black and white, and government holds them back.  Angela agrees.  ((Clip-Beckel:  It will require government intervention.))  Beckel says Liberals made a mistake, don't look at results just our good intentions and give more money to fix the mistake.

How does that work?

You fix the problem of Big Government by making it better?  They said it was their good intention but ended up stifling creativity and created a welfare dependency.   But they did have bigger hearts.  What's wrong with getting out of the way of small business and creativity?  Obama just doubles-down.

NEWS just in:  Romney is classy to call Santorum and concedes Iowa.

They will misunderstand this next comment at The Five:
Stalin thought he saved Russia.  That's like our Democrats.

Caller: Is someone saving in Cayman Islands like most Americans?
Your question is a trap and bad premise.  It is not illegal.  Do you want to be governed by someone who only makes $75,000/yr?  The income gap has closed and those in the top 1% move in and out.  This sounds like an Occupy guy.  Why resent it when you can become like Romney?

There is a glorious country out there with gobs and gobs of opportunity.
>>> Invest it where you want: go broke w/Green Energy !

_____________________________________________________________
Segment 14 always seems to catch up on the commercials.
We should thank the last caller for succinctly reading the Obama talking points.

Ad:  If you are behind w/IRS, go to www.TaxResolution.com
>>> Don't become a statistic when America needs you most.
ED: We often get a jump on 'note-taking', but DittoCam is not on today.
ED2: Google Dana Perino and you get a million hits.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#15:   Mark Zuckerberg started Facebook at age 19.
Contrast the income gap of Mark Zuckerberg before and after Facebook.
>>> That is the income gap that Conservatives want for everybody.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Real Problem"
Alright folks, let's start with the research. I'll tell you what it says; if you think it's legitimate, then we've got a real problem.
According to the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers University, kids from low-income families who don't attend a quality preschool program are at a big disadvantage. They start their schooling 18 months behind their peers, and may never catch up.
If that sounds right to you, here's the problem. The growth of public pre-kindergarten programs have slowed, and in some areas been reversed, because of state budget cuts. A quarter of the four year olds, and over half of the three year olds, aren't going to preschool.
So many students now qualify for free and reduced school lunch, which qualifies them to get into a state-funded pre-K program, that there aren't enough slots. Along with the poor, families with incomes of $40,000 to $50,000 a year are hardest hit. They can't afford private school, and public preschool programs are full, or being cut back.
What are these parents supposed to do? Yeah, I know, in the old days, a parent would stay home with their kids. But who would suggest such a draconian measure today? What are these parents supposed to do, fix the kid's breakfast, lunches, and dinner themselves? Are they supposed to teach them the alphabet, or how to count?
If government can't, or won't, do it, who will? What on earth are we doing to our children? I ask you!

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"Mitt Romney should have said, 'I'll show you my taxes when Obama releases his academic records.'"

"What a great politician that cruise ship captain would make. 'No, no, no, no, I wasn't running away! I tripped. I fell into that lifeboat.' Bring this guy over here, legalize him, and run him for office as a Democrat."
"I wonder if ABC News will do an investigative report and tell us -- you watch, this is gonna happen -- how much does Tim Tebow give to his church? You watch."
"Obama right now cannot afford for this pipeline to be approved because it would provide glaring evidence of all the errors he's made the previous three years. He simply can't do it."
"I think what's really going on here is that the regime is warning the left that they're going to have to offer a budget that sounds like there are cuts, but they don't want them to have to worry since there really won't be any cuts. Do any of us really think Obama or any Democrat's gonna present a budget with cuts? I mean real cuts? It isn't gonna happen."
"Now, who would you rather have as president? Do you want somebody who earned their money and spent their money legally, invested their money legally, paid their taxes legally. Or, do you want a guy who buys a house at below market price with the help of a guy who later came to be a convicted felon, Tony Rezko?"
"Every time Obama focuses on jobs, that means stimulus. Jobs equals federal spending, according to Obama. And that's the message he's sending to his troops here."
"Apple is not union. Jobs believed wherever you find a union, you're gonna find a mess."
"I don't know how you blame anything going on in New York on any Republican, unless you want to go back and try to say that this is Giuliani's mess, but it can't be and it isn't."
"I don't charge for speeches. I don't even charge for expenses for speeches. And the money generated when I do one, most of it, goes to charity. I don't get a dime."
"Rick Perry, the guy makes me laugh, he just keeps smiling out there no matter what. When he's trying to viciously cut somebody to pieces or when he's answering a question, he just smiles."
"Chris Christie is calling for 10% income tax cut in New Jersey, and of course the Democrats are saying, 'Well, that's $7,266 a year for somebody earning a million dollars, and it's only $275 for somebody earning $100,000. That's not even a grocery bill for a family of five!' So here's a 10% across-the-board tax cut and the Democrats in New Jersey automatically oppose it because of the dollar amounts involved. This is pure demagoguery."
"Do you realize that Barack Obama has already spent the federal budget for two years of the next administration, whoever's in charge of it. He's already spent it."
"There's always going to be the temptation in Washington to seek the favor of the leftist media. It's always gonna be there, no matter who it is. I can only think of one exception, and that's Reagan. It's the rule rather than the exception."
