Your Rush ECHO for Wednesday 1-25-2012

Rush Limbaugh will be talking fast and furious about SOTU address . . .
. . .  therefore, I can't take notes on it all.  Check his website .!.   .!.   .!.

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Today, 1/25/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening:   Boring SOTU campaign speech was filled with lies.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#1:  Obama's State of the Union speech didn't cover the dismal status
I had to shut my eMail off with friends saying, "It is over, we can't win."  They expect Republicans to fold to give away the store.  But Fox News played clips of Obama plagiarizing from his prior campaign speeches.

Some criticize Gingrich for having a six-year affair with Callista while criticizing Obama for MonicaGate. "No, I wasn't criticizing the sex, but the lying under oath."

Then you get this, Norm Coleman, advisor to Mitt Romney says the new president will not repeal Obamacare.  "You can't just throw it all out."  It is the first think Romney says in every debate.  He probably dreams it.  But his advisor says, "No; no way; you'll never get rid of all of it."

Then Mitch Daniels did really, really good in the response to Obama.

Mitch Daniels called Obama a liar in the most classy way possible, not using the word.  [See Charles Krauthammer website article.]

The talk last night was filled with fantasyland lies.  General Motors is not the number one car company in the world.  He tried to say, "We are back" and we are not.  He is running like he is running for the first time — that he didn't create what he complains about.

Obama knows he will not be called on facts by Drive-by Media.  He didn't talk about the unemployment numbers.  The universe of jobs is shrinking.  One third of the $16trillion national debt is his!  In three years he bought $5TRILLION in debt.

He talked about 'teamwork' disregarding Founding Fathers and individuals.  Obama has unwittingly just tossed a softball to Republican candidates.  Then he uses 'fairness' which is a code-word for redistributing wealth.  Another example: he fires 80,000 soldiers and slashes the Military budget, but opens by praising them.

It was an Obama attempt to align himself with American greatness.  It was pitiful and he doesn't believe what he said.  What we learned is his panic.  He cannot run on The State of The Union.  He has to make it appear like he is one of us.

It came off as empty and phony.

"Some said we should let it die;  I refused to give up jobs;   General Motors is back on top."  Did I miss that?  Where?  In China?  I'm not going to believe any numbers put out by The Regime.

Then he says that we all can play by the same rules.  I prefer to remain a Bible thumping Bitter Clinger. The auto workers own GM getting a bailout.  Obama spent a lot of time, "No more bailouts, no handout, no copouts." Then he gives as an example GM that got the biggest handout/bailout.

>>>>    Who wrote this embarrassing campaign speech?

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:  Rush points out Romney and Gingrich positions on statements
The Romney campaign is distancing itself from the Norm Coleman statement;  but the Newt people stick with the sex statement.  I'm editing myself, and every neuron is firing fulltime.  [ED: And your note-taker has to be selective to not be swamped.]
> Gingrich superPAC is firing at Romney, right between the eyes.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#3:  What is with the 'plane-Jane' look of HRClinton ?
Caller-gal:  $2,400 cocktail dress for First Lady.  Republicans were different.
And you had Hillary Rodham Clinton wearing a headband, trying to look youthful.  Warren Buffett's secretary is a whole different story.  It's a smorgasbord buffet.

The Sunday night NFC on Fox was the highest seen recently and had twice the class-warfare SOTU campaign speech last night.  ((Satire-Montage:  Members of Congress and fellow Americans.  I ended the war in Iran and replace Hussein with debt.  It is all Bush's fault.  Ford is doing great and I had nothing to do with it.  General Motors, no comment.  We find that when students graduate, they succeed and I will not walk away.  I am against mercury poisoning for out kids.  The winning in DC comes from working together, so let's all donate $1billion to my campaign.  I will ring every bit of glory out of that flag.  Thank You, and God help the man that runs against me.))

GOP establishment leaders have buyer's remorse after hearing the response of Mitch Daniels.  They see him as strong on budget matters but like a Moderate like them.  He called Obama a liar in an indirect way. "Obama and the First Lady exemplify strong family commitment."  That was the outreach to the Independents.
>>> What followed was Conservatively great.

_____________________________________________________________
S#4:  Can our current hopefuls be as eloquent and forceful as Daniels?
You could say Daniels takes a slap at Gingrich in the open.  ((Clip-Daniels:  We do not accept that our nation is has, and have-not;  it will always be have and soon-to-have.  . . .  We must have a pro-growth approach   . . .  a simpler tax code   . . . maximize new energy technologies . . .  extremism of cancelling a new pipeline. The president has to know that what he says is just not true.  Republicans have proposed over and over, only to be shot down by Obama and Democrat allies.))  Who else is defending the Republicans in the House?

((More Montage of clips:  If we do not reign in spending, we will never be able to pay for all the safety net endowments.  . . .  Individual citizens believe the federal government is to protect them, not supervise them.))  Continuity was really great.
>>> Obama "Teamwork" is a great opening for our candidates.
ED: Is Mitt Romney saving great Conservative statements for presidential debates?
NOTE: Top and bottom lines are usually from us editors, not Rush Limbaugh entirely.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#5:  The confrontational speech was class warfare.
>>> When in AZ he said we need to be non-confrontational.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#6:  Seating Warren Buffett's secretary was a campaign prop
(Theme Music) In his opening, Mitch Daniels praised raising a great family.  Now nutritionist Michelle Obama wants junk food out of schools.  Kids wanted no part of the tofu food.  This is working together?  Even Leftist robot kids want none of it.

I'm sure the GOP elite establishment had a hand in putting together the response, and family values could have been a slap at Newt.  They don't like him.

((Clip-Daniels:  Republicans salute his response to 9/11, education, and his family example to a nation that sorely needs it.))  Michelle should dump the school food push and focus on family values, especially for the Black community.

It's not an accident for Progressives to be destroying the fabric of the family.  The welfare network replaces the father in the family with the government.

((Clip-Daniels: When the president claims the state of the nation is not grave, he must know in his heart it is not true.  He was elected to fix these things and now things are worse.))  That was powerful, yet classy.

I got a note saying the secretary of Warren Buffett would sit next to the First Lady.  Do you know when this started?  A guy saved someone from a river, and Reagan brought him in as a hero.  Traditionally, heroes or victims are brought in.  This was a mockery.  She was brought in for Obama's class warfare.

If Warren Buffett paid his secretary in stock options, she would be paying the same rate as Mitt Romney.  Mitt Romney is giving away 42% of his income and paid $3.2million in taxes.

Have you heard of the Kennedy family?  They are filthy rich but say they fight for the little people.  It is 100% PR to keep the hoards away.  They end up being loved.  Liberals always want to use your money, not theirs. It is pure public relations and justifies their earning more.  "I'm richer than you are", said Bill Clinton.
>>>>>        It was appalling and I don't think it worked.
The Liberal media will never call them on it.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7:  Rush Limbaugh demands to see her tax returns [satire]
It is never mentioned how much Buffett's secretary earns.  Where are Debbie Boseneck's tax returns?  Let me be the first to demand to see her tax returns.  Cut to the chase, it is sheer dishonesty on Obama's part.

Warren Buffett says he will give his money away to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation when he dies.
>>> But the rest of us have to give our estate to the government.
KFI news: Google will target ads to where you are and what you search.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8:  Because of politicians, there could be a brokered convention
A video has gone viral showing Obama repeating old campaign statements.  It is powerful in showing the lack of sincerity.  We have 55 soundbytes today, stuff flying in from staff. ((Clip-Obama: Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary;  we need to change the tax codes so that people like me are paying their share.))  Stop the tape:  he wants to keep the pitchfork people away, except for evil rich Republicans.

This economy is not a zero-sum game.  Obama plans to be filthy rich when he leaves office and not do any work like writing books.  He praises Steve Jobs and Apple and there is no greater example of the opposite of not shipping jobs overseas.  The Obama campaign speech was confusing, inconsistent, and a bunch of lies.

Caller on Superbowl:  It is warming up in Indianapolis, setting up heaters.
Caller: Mitch Daniels has wrongly been called 'Moderate'.  He's a Conservative.
Caller: Lots of Establishment GOP people want Daniels. Would he attack?
He wanted to run and his wife didn't want him to.  I was told by three top Republicans when they still talked to me, "It isn't going to happen."

The 'brokered convention' is out there, but says Michael Steel says that would be stupid. The filing is already closed but for 13 states.  A lot of people have already donated to the remaining four candidates.

Just remember this:  It is politics .!.   And you know what that means:
>>>   >>>    There are politicians involved.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9:  Do you rely on the government for your own success ?
Caller: Obama talked about three or four new panels, yet reduce gov't.
Caller:  Obama wants Green Jobs by gov't and Navy using it.
Every Liberal policy fails.  There is no Utopia.  They really believe if they are in charge they can do this.  Some of them know that Global Warming and Green Energy is bogus and just ride the Liberal wave. They will take every dollar you have to try to make their fantasy a reality.

Everywhere Liberalism reigns supreme, you have squalor and third-world living.  If that campaign speech last night had a theme, it was "what government can do for you."  It was really pathetic.
>>> "You, as an individual, have nothing to do with your success."

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#10:  ABC asks, "What could you buy w/Romney's $21.7million?"
>>> No, ask, "What can we by with Bill Clinton's $76million income?"
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Crony Capitalism  //  GE & Solyndra  //  Ford  //  Newt on Fox
(Music) Solyndra and GE were crony capitalism.  "I'll give Immelt some money that he doesn't need to create curly lightbulbs and I'll look like I support corporations", says Obama.  www.GE.com/company/leadership/ceo.html  The money attracts people to Washington DC.

Obama says he wants everyone to have the same rules.  Does GE and Solyndra play by the same rules.  The people not playing by rules are associated with Obama.  Boeing is getting shafted by The Regime.

ABC Diane Sawyer asks "What can we buy . . ."  What could we buy with the billions given to Solyndra?  And what did we buy with the phony Stimulus that did nothing?

Ford withdrew from the corporate support of Green Energy.  Another reason to buy Ford.

Nancy Pelosi says Gingrich will never be president.  She told that to NBC John King.  I'm not sure she does.  Newt says that if she does, she should just say it now.
>>> On Fox, Newt says he would rather be accused by her,
> > > > > >         than be endorsed by her.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12:  So now Pelosi does not have Gingrich secrets .?.
Nancy Pelosi's office is backtracking, "No dirt on Gingrich; already in public domain."

Caller-IL: Two if by Tea is a terrific drink, given to us by our daughter. The cups with logo and jellybeans made a hit at our house, collector items.
Cf:  http://TwoIfByTea.com

Mrs Larry Arne hides their Two-if-by-Tea bottles in a vegetable drawer.
>  >  >        She knows Dr Arne will never open that drawer.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  What will happen if Newt Gingrich is the Republican nominee?
The Drudge Report links to Los Angeles news that a Toyota Prius plastic is melting.  She replaced the mirrors on her car, but noticed a powerful beam reflected from a nearby condo and an energy-saving window.

Energy-efficient cars are melting because of energy-efficient windows.

And this is not the only instance.  It is Obamaville.  You could say the Toyota Prius is anti-solar.  Liberalism always has unintended consequences.

Caller: Listen to Newt on firing a janitor and hiring 30 teens. He's big Gov't.
Newt Gingrich will be called on being Big Gov't sooner or later.  Kids should learn to work at an early age. That would be good for America.
Caller-still:  I support Romney or Santorum.
In short order, 'Private Sector' will become unpopular if Romney continues.  You are not listening!   I have pointed out the decline in American culture.  Nobody is excusing Newt Gingrich.  Why are you calling me?  I have endorsed no one.

Snerdley wants to know what will happen if Newt is the Nominee.
Caller:   I'm not voting.
>>  >>   >>      Well, that's real helpful;  and it says a lot.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#14:  President Obama had to ask his escorts to find his way out
Caller: The speech finally ended;  Obama signed autographs.
Obama got lost going out, "How do I get out of here?"  Maybe he wanted to greet a different group of people.  Sheila Jackson Lee showed up ten hours early to get a seat on the aisle and be seen on camera with him.
>   >  Some congressmen and congresswomen are Obama groupies.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#15:  "I don't think we are ready to declare a new phase."
So we are out of the woods?  Ben Bernanke says we are not.
> Federal Reserve director just undercut the class warfare argument.
Closing:   See you tomorrow for Open-Line Friday.

Quotable quotes from Fox News and talk radio:

Sean Hannity to President Obama (rhetorically), "You had three years!  What did you accomplish with $5TRILLION in new debt in three years?"  [ED: The new billion is a trillion]

"Disconnected from reality", says Romney about Obama's speech.  "The American people are suffering, they know it, and he doesn't.  The real unemployment rate is 18%."

"This is a president that says one thing, and does something entirely different indeed." Mitt Romney  "His policies have made things worse."

"This is a president with a gap between what he says and what he does that is so enormous that you just watch the TV screen and shake your head in amazement." Romney

"For the first two years of his presidency, Democrats controlled both the Senate and the House.  If he really had wanted to do all of these things, wouldn't he have done so when he had all that power?"  Mitt Romney

"This is the president that said, 'If they bring a knife, we bring a gun.'" Hannity  "I want you to argue with them and get in their faces."

"If you add up [corp.tax, income tax, charitable contributions] it is between 32% and 42% and so I am giving a pretty healthy slug back to our community." Romney

"No one has ever accused the president of not being able to give a good speech, especially when it has been written like that." Marco Rubio, "The question is: what does it all mean?"  [He divides classes of Americans.]

"Do not give this man any more power than he already has; Cass Sunstein bypasses Congress and there are Progressives in both parties." Glenn Beck "Is there anything more valuable than your freedom?" (quoting, read by Geo.Washington) "Show by your works that God will bless you." Thomas Paine

When Bill Clinton used his 1996 State of the Union address to kick off his ultimately successful re-election campaign, he uttered one of the few SOTU lines that people still remember: "The era of big government is over."  It did not matter narrowly that this was another Clinton lie; he went on in that speech to outline something like 97 small ways government could get bigger, from school uniforms to »

One reason why presidents feel free to bloviate without restraint in SOTU speeches is that they know hardly anyone will ever go back, months or years down the road, and recall what they said. It is a feel-good exercise of the moment, intended to be free of consequences, other than the immediate political ones. Still, some might wonder: what was President Obama touting in his SOTU two years ago? The »

Mitch Daniels will deliver the GOP's response to Obama's State of the Union speech. You can read excerpts here. I have not been a particular Daniels fan–he's Tim Pawlenty without the charisma and the consistent conservatism–but this is good stuff: As Republicans our first concern is for those waiting tonight to begin or resume the climb up life's ladder. Had enough of fat cat Barack Obama, his jet-setting wife and his multi-millionaire Chicago consigliere/real-estate mogul Valerie Jarrett attacking the "rich"? Well, brace yourselves. You'll be hearing much more from the White House about the "wealthy few" who aren't paying their "fair share" as Obama's re-election campaign doubles down on class-war demagoguery.
