Your Rush ECHO for Thursday 1-26-2012

Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Thursday, 1/26/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening:   Rick Perry billboards, "Miss Me Yet" ?
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#1:   Concerted Effort to take Gingrich out in Florida election
A couple of months into The Regime, billboards had that for Bush.  Boy, this Newt stuff.  Did you know any, Snerdley?  Plumbline Greg Sargent has a post:
He rumors that Romney PAC will say "Was Gingrich unstable?"

Drudge headlines that Newt bashed Bush Sr. who ran as a continuation of Reagan and thrashed loser Dukakis.  CNN John King says Newt friends were not offered, and Gingrich confirms. [ED: So what?]  Then there is 1988 YouTube video of Gingrich saying Bush Sr wouldn't win if he ran as Reagan Two.  Ronald Reagan won in a landslide because people wanted his Conservatism.

In the early 1980s, I first heard of Newt Gingrich when he was defending Ronald Reagan.  I worked to the Kansas MO Royals baseball.  The moment Reagan was inaugurated, the DbM were vicious!  Reagan did not have any media on his side, except the newsletter National Review.

Does the name David Stockman ring a bell?  He was Reagan's economic advisor stabbed Reagan in the back and said Reaganomics wouldn't work.  The guy that appointed himself, along with Bob Walker, defended Reagan.  C-Span cameras were on after everyone left, and they would stay for five hours.  The cameras were only on the [speakers] well, and you never saw the empty chambers.

They would yield to each other and countered the lies.  I tried to get Gingrich on the air and it was difficult.  The Mormon Church owns Bonneville Broadcasting and the station I was on, and got an interview set up for me.  Newt Gingrich was ripping the Democrat Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neil, and his successor every night.  It was everything you wish you would see today.

You people know I am blessed with a pretty good memory—this stuff about Newt was a total surprise.  Latest thing he blurted out was a "Moon Colony" where you can have a real honeymoon. Make it the 58th state.  The other part of his message is reducing Debt and Budget.  Was it 'Grandiose'?

Then National Review Online, Elliott Abrams (married to the daughter of Norman Podhoretz) and has an impeccable reputation.  This piece slices and dices in a harmless tone.  It focuses on there being no relationship between Gingrich and Reagan.  Another article shows there is a concerted effort to take out Newt.
>>> My only point is that I knew none of this—a total surprise.
Rush says he met Elliott Abrams, and he is the nicest guy.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment Two is short because Segment One was long, "Don't get mad."
People produced a letter [and video] saying Nancy Reagan thought Newt Gingrich would be the likely successor to Reagan.  There is more than just a dump on Gingrich going on here.  Bob Terrill is coming out with more dumping.
>>> It is overwhelming and all happening within one day.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#3:  Keep the Obama Team guessing, not destroying
Breaking news on Fox:  Barney Frank is going to marry his man.  Folks, we are doing fun tests with Two if by Tea, to pop up in stores.  "Where, today is ..." at Jungle Gym in Fairfield Ohio. Jeffry Lord writes for American Spectator and says, "Wait a minute now" and finds the letter of Nancy Reagan supporting Newt.

Nancy Reagan was totally supportive of her husband; you said one thing bad about Ronald Reagan and you were out of there.  "Turn the torch over to Newt Gingrich to keep the [Conservative] torch alive."  Another said they never heard this stuff.

So what do we have here?  "Bill Clinton without his charm"?  It is all over the place.  It's stunning and caught me totally by surprise. All of the people complaining have impeccable credentials.

Is it Operation Chaos to help Gingrich limp along in Florida?  Unions are running ads for Newt Gingrich.  You need a lot of money to saturate Florida with TV ads.  They are attacking Mitt Romney.  Reuters has a hit piece against Marco Rubio for saying the Gingrich ad is not true.

Why would Newt say he had depositions in the Marianne divorce case when there weren't any?  And Romney is being hit too with Romneycare.  Santorum is emerging unscathed, not under attack by anybody.

Newt Gingrich says he was a Goldwater supporter when he was a Nelson Rockefeller state chair.  There are all kinds of things now coming out.

We want this campaign to go on for two reasons:  (1) Republicans are hit in the media every day and it will continue;  (2) If this race is 'over' in Florida, Obama Team has to want to October—we can compete in a two-month campaign.  (2b) It keeps Conservatism in the discourse.
>>> As long as Obama doesn't know whom he has to destroy,
>>>>>>>   he has to aim at everybody.  [$1billion goes a long way.]

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4:  These attacks should be towards the true villains
Tom Delay now joins the fray and says Gingrich was not organized and had a new agenda every day.  Whoever is doing this—will they have the guts to go after Obama?  Will Abrams and Terrill go after Barack Obama with the same fervor?  Where is the evidence?  I don't see any.

((Clip-Gingrich-1988:  People will want something new.))
((Clip-Gingrich: We are at the end of the Reagan Era.))

>>> I have a long memory and this anti-Newt stuff is news to me.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#5:  Liberal lies from Media Matters are no surprise
[Liberal] Media Matters (for America) says now that I was anti-Reagan.
>>> We are learning so much that we never knew before today.
_____________________________________________________________
Segment#6:    Rush learned to print his certificate out
(Theme Music) I wonder if Barney is going to have an 'open' marriage?  He is 71.

Fairly, or unfairly, here is what I think is going on:  people see Gingrich fighting for an Ideal;  and they see Romney fighting to get elected.  Bob Dole, says, "Hey, don't leave me out of this", and goes against Gingrich.  "It was his way or the highway."

((Clip-Gingrich during debate saying all he worked with.))  ((Clip-Gingrich:  I was a state chair for [RINO] Rockefeller.))  Snerdley's jaw dropped open.  They are clearing the way for Romney in the debate tonight.

Of the 1,000 points of light, I was #732 and printed the certificate out.

AZ Governor Jan Brewer has a book that includes Obama.  You've seen the picture on Drudge and elsewhere.  His Regime is suing AZ.  This man has never been challenged in his life.   He has had the way paved with gold at every turn.

He was also in the face of LA gov Bobby Jindal during Katrina.   I don't think Obama can take it. His thin skin was on display on the tarmac in Arizona; same with Bobby Jindal.
>>> Just treat him as your normal political opponent !

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7:  Why do corporate CEOs 'get in bed' — crony capitalism ?
Caller-ID: You support socialist Mitt Romney.
Agggghh!  I'm getting warn out: Mitt Romney calls me and wants to come talk to me so I won't be so hard on him.  I'm going to vote for any Republican candidate over Obama.  Newt supports making you buy health insurance, the mandate, but he now backs off from that.

Caller:  With everyone trashing Newt, how will they support him?
In politics, they will always find a way.  In 2008, the McCain and Huckabee people hated Romney and now support him.  The money makes the politics.  They find ways to love each other, never fear.  Both sides want to control the money.

We have only the illusion of a Free Market.  A fact of life is that big corporations want intimate relations with politicians when they regulate the market.  An example is the CEO of General Electric, Jeffry Immelt.
>>> They want to limit the damage and/or get some of the money.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#8:  HARP Two Refinancing may be going on right under our noses
I have my doubts advisors will have our Nominee going after Obama,  "Oh, no, no, no.  Obama is far too popular."  I just hope some of this fervor will be saved for Obama.  Maybe they just want Newt to 'self-deport' but it isn't going to happen.  It is all coordinated, in one day.

Meanwhile, December home sales were the worst in recent history, since records started in 1973.  The pace is less than half what home sales need to be in a healthy economy.  Obama says it is getting better.  "Obama has his swagger back."

Jobless claims are up by 21,000 but Happy Days are here again.  Shazzam!  TARP and Stimulus took longer than we thought, but the signs are all there and it couldn't get any better.  We need 150,000 new jobs just to keep up with population.

Refinancing may be going on right under our noses:  HARP Two (refinancing to wipe out your mortgage owned by Freddie or Fannie.)  Romney criticized Obama's version of HARP but didn't disagree with the concept.

It is not the government's role to feed children, it is the parents.  ((Clip-accent:  Govermont need to train those parrants.  We have an obasity pandomic. [sic] ))  [See Morning Update below.]

What did you think when you heard of the secretary salary and tax rate?  $50,000/yr?  NO, it is $200,000 to $50,000.  She has two homes (NE and AZ) and sits up with Moochelle Obama as a victim.  Pay her more, Warren Buffett.  ((Clip-secretary:  It's all magical, a dream come true.))  ((Clip-Buffett:  I think it should be a campaign issue.))
>> Warren Buffett rhetoric is outrageous !

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#9:   Is Warren Buffett running a secretary sweatshop?
Who knew Warren Buffett, $50billion, is running a sweatshop?  And remember when a candidate walked over to Rodham Clinton and asked her to sign a promise?  His political career was over!  Obama doesn't respect AZ Gov Jan Brewer and Drive-by Media says nothing.

> Lazio was portrayed as a predator and HRC had the testicle lock box.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#10:  The Great make this look easy; don't try this at home.
> >  Folks, try to maintain control.  We'll be right back for final hour.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11: Taxing the rich more will run U.S.A. for only 18 days
(Music) Whatever blog site I mention, other bloggers send eMail saying they are phony.  Reihl (blogger) says the video bashing Reagan is bogus, being edited.  A minute or two later he praises Reagan.  The interview is an hour long, selective clipping.

Moochelle Obama did not go to Las Vegas since he ordered pizza.

GM says the Volt has become a punching bag. No kidding.  And Reuters runs a hit piece against Marco Rubio.  Every gun is trained in Florida on everyone except Romney and Santorum.

What is the greatest marriage killer?  ((Reading: Bit into the sandwich and a post-it note inside:  Be in aisle 9 at 10 of Home Depot.  Janet Phiffer is a motivational speaker but her husband didn't appreciate the addition to his sandwich.))  'Nagging' is called more toxic than infidelity.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203806504577180811554468728.html?mod=googlenews_wsj   The nag-ee feels he or she won't get what they want and so nags even more.  It is possible for husbands to nag, but wives are far more likely to nag.  Men don't always give a clear answer.

Our expert on family relations, Bo Snerdley, is nodding his head yes.

((Clips-Obama-joking-about-the-rich-like-Buffett-and-Gates.))  In public you say and act Liberal to protect yourself.  It worked for the Kennedy family.  This is how they hold on to their own money, folks.  They align themselves with Democrats.  How could the peasants get mad at them?  That leaves only the evil stealing Republicans.

They are using Obama as much as he is using them.  Those with pitchforks think Buffett and his secretary stand with them.  In one minute, Warren Buffett could fix the situation with his secretary, if there is one.

This next story from the UK did not make it to U.S. Media.  There are 8,274 people with $10million or more. What do you think the combined income was in 2009?
Run around and say, "The rich are not paying enough", and you will sit with rich politicians.  They say how your secretary is mistreated.

The combined income is $240billion.   That's the combined income.   How long could you run the government on their earnings?  18 days since gov't already taxes them.
>>> The answer to saving America is not raising their taxes.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#12:  Reagan Era was over ?      Not.       Not then, not now.
Cookie verifies that nobody doctored the transcript of Newt talking to Bush about Reagan.  She says the facts are not changed.  "Reagan era is over.  You'll lose if you run [on Conservatism]".))  Bush won.

>>>   >>>      And taxing the 'rich' more is going to improve what?

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  Oddities in the news  //  Truth is stranger than fiction
Ener-1, another battery company (energy storage) received $118million stimulus and is now going bankrupt.  www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=49084

Caller:  This Newt stuff doesn't bother us; we need him to shake up Washington.
Newt went down in the polls, Rasmussen has Romney 39% to Gingrich 31% in Florida—ahead nationally too.  How many people on the Newt bandwagon will say, "We are not going to run to Romney."  They want someone D.C. hates. "That's good enough for us", the caller is saying.  Tea Party people may feel the same way.

We are not talking reality here, Snerdley.  We are talking 'perception'.

Caller-NC: Great news today:  Dumplin Bev Purdue is quitting.
This is not good news for Obama.  They chose the Democrat Convention in North Carolina to prop her up.  She is the one that wanted to suspend elections so Congress could do their work and not be bothered with reelection.

((Satire Homeless Update music:  I ain't got no home . . .  I'm a lonely boy  [Clarence 'Frogman' Henry 1956]  I ain't got no one, . . .  [sings as a boy, then a girl, then as a frog]   I'm a lonely frog, ain't got no one.  I ain't got a home.)) Billboard #1 smash hit.

He joined us in Sacramento to open a Rush To Excellence speech, and we sang a duet to begin.

Two Republican FL state senators introduce a bill to house homeless in Florida stadiums or give the state money back.  This is what happens when you take money.  It's already on the bills from 1988, just not enforced.

You in North Carolina should try it also.  Obama will put up his Greek God columns again and use the god-reverb.
>>> Obama will speak at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte NC.

Latest scientific findings:  Fried food cooked with olive oil may help you, and that fried food hurts your heart and health is a myth.

Caller: You have to work within the tent.  Look at Contract w/America.  When both sides saw they were duped and had, they pushed Gingrich out the door.
>>> Since attacks actually help Newt, maybe he created them.
LDS revelation "Word of Wisdom" tells us to eat meat "sparingly".

Seg#15:  Can Newt be the alternative to the conservative Gingrich?
After the CNN debate tonight, Newt will offer himself as the alternative to the conservative Newt Gingrich.  We'll also watch the applause.
>>> We'll report back if you don't want to watch.  [But you do.]
Closing:   Let's talk about it on Open-line Friday, tomorrow.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Eat It!"
TV chef Jamie Oliver, of ABC's "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution", has a bumpy history with schools. During his first season, he tried to "revolutionize" the eating habits of students in West Virginia. Last year, it was the Los Angeles Unified School District. Although school officials said they "welcomed" the celebrity chef they abruptly terminated his show's access to their schools.
Olivier had used gimmicks, like filling a school bus with 57 tons of white sand, to represent the amount of sugar the district's 650,000 students consume every week in flavored milk. After that, the district decided to change the menu, giving students healthier options. Now, instead of the standard school lunch fare, L.A. kids are getting salads, vegetarian curries, tamales, brown-rice cutlets and plain milk. The menu has won awards.
And it had an impact. The students are throwing the plain milk in the garbage by the ton. Along with the other "healthy food" options. According to the L.A. Times "black markets" are now thriving at schools, selling food that students want to eat. Worse, students are now bringing lunch from home! Unheard of! Of course, it's reported to be "junk food."
Liberals have been outwitted, by children. What're they gonna do? Punish their little charges for food violations? Admit they're wrong, and change the menu back to "unhealthy" food? That's doubtful! They'll just have to look the other way. Ignore it. Swallow it. Eat it! While the health food continues to be wasted, at taxpayer expense.

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"This State of the Union speech was all about what government must do, can do, will do to make everything fair, to make everything right, to make everything happen. You're insignificant. Government is everything! . . . While he talked about trying to cut government."

"Mitch Daniels called Obama a liar in the classiest way I've ever heard it done."
"The response to the State of the Union is getting more positive reaction than the president's speech itself."
"The virtual museum at RushLimbaugh.com, if you haven't seen it, you really should."
"Obama's speech was so filled with contradictions. He talked about teamwork is what made America great? Teamwork? Do you know, ladies and gentlemen, how wrong that is? Do you know what our founding documents are about? The rights and freedom of the individual versus government. There's nothing about teamwork."
"Obama starts off his State of the Union address by thanking the military while at the same time he is slashing the Pentagon budget by about a trillion dollars and firing 80,000 soldiers. Opens up by praising an element of government that he is slashing to shreds. He closed it that way too."
"So Obama spends a whole speech talking about, 'No more bailouts. We're not gonna do that! No handouts, no cop-outs,' and then he gives as his greatest example of American prosperity a company he bailed out! Who wrote this? This speech was an embarrassment."
"Folks, I'm sorry. I have got so much going on in my mind. Really, this is a classic overload day and I'm doing my best to edit myself. If I did stream of consciousness, you'd want to commit me."
"Snerdley is our resident female expert, but this is not his day. 'Cause he missed Moochelle's cocktail dress."
"The best thing Michelle Obama could do for people in poverty is to simply highlight the solid nuclear family that she has with her husband, Barack, and the two kids. That's the ticket out."
"There's something inherently unfair about the Republican tax code, as though Warren Buffett's secretary is eating pork and beans while sitting in the sewer grate, while her boss is flying around on his NetJets planes. And, lo and behold, she was up there! It was to further the simple notion that we need a tax increase on the rich."
"I've had so many people ask me over the years, 'Why are all these rich guys all of a sudden so liberal? Buffett, Gates.' Folks, there's a simple answer: The filthy rich will SAY they are liberal -- they will do things in public that reflect that they might be liberal -- to keep the peasants with the pitchforks away from 'em. It's all a game!"
"I don't know how liberal Warren Buffett really is, but I know that Warren Buffett loves being in the news."
"If you ever become filthy rich or moderately rich, then publicly go liberal! That's how you can keep everybody away from your money and that's the only thing they're doing."
"The whole notion of green energy is a liberal wet dream. It is a dream. It's a myth like every other belief they have."
"Every liberal policy fails. War on poverty to end poverty? Fails. Great Society, all those related programs, Head Start, they all fail."
"If this speech last night had a theme, it's 'Government is the center of the universe! Government is everything. Your life should be government. When you get up in the morning, the first thing you do is consider, think about, and look to your government.'"
"For liberals, it's all about getting rich without having to work. For liberals, it's all about getting rich at the end of or being on the receiving end of the redistribution of taxpayer dollars. Pure and simple. Or being somewhere in the pipeline where you get to siphon off your share as it's on its way to wherever. Just for showing up, not for having to do any work. That's key."
"Why do you think Washington attracts so many people? It's where the money is! Take a look DC and the founding counties around Maryland and you'll find some of the richest ZIP codes in the country."
"Oh, he's one of those. He doesn't want to get the massage because it's gonna end. I used to be that way, too."
"Two If By Tea, the way tea ought to be, the way tea is. There's magic opening the bottle."
"Energy efficient cars are melting because of energy efficient windows. It's Obamaville!"

There are signs that the Newt Gingrich bubble may be bursting. Let's hope so: the walk down the memory lane of the 1980s and 1990s, not to mention Newt's current transgressions, is getting hard to take. Let's just survey today's news: * Emmett Tyrell, who was there and remembers, labeled Gingrich "conservatism's Bill Clinton, but without the charm." * Marco Rubio denounced a Gingrich Spanish-language ad in Florida that called »

Before Barack Obama, have we ever had a president who divided the country for political gain; who pitted some Americans against others; and who tried to scapegoat unpopular groups of Americans for his own failures? Yes. It was Franklin Roosevelt. But that doesn't excuse Obama's reprehensible practice of the politics of division. Michael Ramirez editorializes: »

President Obama's State of the Union address was a sorry performance in many ways, but let's note just one Big Lie that he tried to get away with.   President Obama's use of Warren Buffett's secretary — Debbie Bosanek — during his State of the Union address on Tuesday night raised interesting questions that deserve to be followed up.
