Your Rush Limbaugh Echo for Friday, 1/27/12
Student NOTES from Institute juniors, not 'official'
Opening: Ohio [ad] Jungle Gym's sold out in 10min.

S#1:  Jeffrey Lord exposed Romney Team feeding lies to Elliott Abrams
Who in the world is that?  A 300-lb woman looks like Michael Jackson.  Mitt Romney said, "All of this [Romneycare] is not worth getting angry about." This is fascinating and crucially important.  Santorum had the line of the night: "We can't afford to give away this issue."

The pointed exchanges are starting to be 'not good'.  Jeffrey Lord was in the Adm of Ronald Reagan and had not heard any of the Newt stuff.  It seems that Elliott Abrams was spoon-fed 'out-of-context' stuff.

Jeffrey sent me the text of the whole hour of Newt Gingrich in Congress, and it confirms my memory.  Elliott Abrams reputation is stellar spotless.
>>> I can only assume he was spoon-fed by the Romney Campaign.
Rush adds that the damage is already out there.  Voting is Tuesday in FL.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#2:  Just quote Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and others: and you smear them?
A lot of people have been ripping on Matt Drudge also.  To both of us it looked like a concerted effort against Gingrich.  It is getting hard to report on any politician, telling what they say and what is true about them.  It looks like you are smearing them.
>> You just have to ignore some politicians to avoid that false charge.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#3:  Rush Limbaugh points out that The Regime lies about GDP
Debate last night, and Newt did not have the evening to turn the tide.  Santorum did the best job of hitting Romney on healthcare that has been done. The people of the country are willing to overlook flaws to beat Obama. Santorum was scoring well in the debate, and Romney said, "Hey, it is not worth getting angry about."  But it is.

Give them Obamacare and the ballgame is over for America.

"The best way to get kids off of needing healthcare to age 26 and get them out of the nest, is to let them get jobs", said Ron Paul.  He put on his comedian cap.

State-controlled media misreports new GDP news.  It grew at 1.7% compared to 3% of the past.  The number from The Regime will have to be revised down.
>>> To misreport at 2.8% they have to count inventory + sales.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#4:  Roger Ailes helped POTUS Richard Nixon with his TV image
Got a note from a guy who ran campaigns, "My take on Gov. Romney's jab at Santorum is different than yours.  Santorum always looks angry and Romney wanted to take him out to say 'lighten up'."  Romney showed last night he could [fight back].

((Clip-Santorum: There are 15 things that are in common with Obamacare.))  He is so right: we cannot give this issue away to the other side. It is frustrating to him to not be noticed.  He has no money but goes door-to-door.

((Clip-Romney: First day I'll repeal Obamacare.))  ((Clip-retort-Santorum))

>>>>> You are either likeable on TV or you are not.
> Nixon was able to change, with help from Roger Ailes.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#5: Rick Santorum voted for healthcare mandates.
>>  This comes out the day after the debate in Florida.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#6:  Once a week Rush Limbaugh debated on TV in the early days
(Theme Music) Obama campaigns on Las Vegas, "I want an economy that makes stuff, sells stuff, and moves it around."  That is Obamanomics.

Examiner looks at the election cycle of 1994 and says Santorum supported healthcare mandates but gives no quotes.  That was the height of Hillarycare.  Santorum supported individual mandates.

George Soros still supports Obama but voters will be conflicted if Romney, "not much difference except they crowds they hang out with."  Why would he say this?  What is his psychological game?

((Clip-Romney:  92% in MA had their own insurance;  the remaining 8% could buy their own or pay for the state insurance.  Free load no more.))  Obama has said the same thing on Obamacare, "if you like your plan, you get to keep it", even if not true.

Santorum's point is people get to opt in or pay a fine.  Romney is right that if free riders show up at the emergency room, then by law, they have to be treated.  The whole point of Obamacare is to get people dependent on The Regime.  Obama wants young people paying the low fine to force insurers to quit.

((Clip-Romney-answering-Santorum . . . cheers  . . .  Santorum persists.))  This was the best 'attack', if you will, on Romneycare.  ((Clip-Romney: Debating Obama, I will show compassion . . . If elected I will repeal it.))  That was the back and forth.

Maybe 'anger' doesn't sell on TV but sometimes it is warranted. I debated a Liberal mayor in CA each week and said, "I love the feminine movement, especially when walking behind it."
>  >   >        Even the cameramen were laughing.
ED: Let's hope Santorum will have a role, even though not as POTUS.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#7:  Can Romney team hack into Limbaugh's iPad ?
The fine for not having Obamacare is the higher of 2.5% of household income and $695.  Who wouldn't pay that?  The fine amount will be raised in 2016.

There are some things Romney could say to defend himself (which I have written on my iPad.)

Caller: 'Gotcha questions' are redundant: Romney will repeal Obamacare.
Caller: But what will Romney do going forward with healthcare?
Maybe it is out there in their 'white papers'.  The candidates differ on details: keep your kids on the parent policy up to age 26.  Imagine if hotels were priced 'according to what people can afford'.

Today, you can even choose to pay for an hour in an expensive hotel with a view.  For the Superbowl there are not very many hotel rooms in Indianapolis. There is one suite at the bowl going for $1million.  That is my point.
>>  >>  >>      Privatize healthcare and watch prices come down.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#8:   Rush Limbaugh's Impersonation voices are great
Caller:  Sarah Palin said whom she supports—will you?     . . .

Caller: Real Clear Politics average of polls rates Ron Paul against Obama.
The problem most people have with Ron Paul is his foreign policy, "We are making war—what would you do?"  [Rush imitates his voice]  "We caused 9/11"

In Europe there is a breath spray of marijuana to treat multiple sclerosis.  It does not have the 'high' and does not increase the appetite.  Will that be acceptable?

Seminar Caller: Will Romney go against the Supreme Court on Mandates?
No president will do that.  If the court renders the mandates unconstitutional, then Obamacare falls apart because it cannot be funded.  That was the requirement when it was passed, that it would be funded.

Caller: The court could rule for Obamacare if Romney is our nominee.

>>> That is why the nomination and view of Obamacare is so important.
KFI runs the paid attack ad against Romney:  teen abortion w/o permission.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#9:  Romney opposes a federal government healthcare mandate
Just to be factually correct, Romney opposes a federal government mandate requiring citizens to opt in or face a fine.  He leaves it to the states.

Look at what has happened just this week.  Fred Thompson endorsed Newt before hidden stuff came out just before the FL second debate.

Caller-doctor: Because of Obama, some procedures cannot be charged. Some who come in just 'bleed the system dry'.  Then there is unemployment.
In China, you have to look for work, and we used to require that here.  You are in the 1% and have a nice house by exploiting these poor people. [satire] Their care should be free, in a just society.  Cutting back on doctors is only fair.
>>> It's about time you found out what it is like to live poor, [satire].

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#10:  Open-Line Friday moves on, Rush not losing focus.
_____________________________________________________________
Seg#11:   Who knew?   Global Warming is a fraud and a hoax ?
(Music) Warren Buffett is tired of his secretary being attacked and says it is ridiculous.  Well, who brought her up?  Who sat her next to Moochelle Obama?  Buffett says her income and two homes is nobody's business.  Nobody is attacking her as a person.  I'm talking about it but others are afraid of Buffett.

Treasury Dpt approves top raises of CEOs. Remember when Obama and his Czar Kenneth Feinberg said CEO's would have their salaries capped at $500/yr for those who accepted TARP.  The CEO of AIG got over a million for two years in a row.

You were taught to hate AIG and protest at the executive homes.  It was all for show and the donors now get favors under the table.

The hoax and fraud of Global Warming is highlighted in WSJ. This sounds just like me !  "No Need to Panic about Global Warming"

Then company ads jump on it with polar bears driving Toyota and drinking Coke.  ((Reading: There is no compelling scientific argument to reduce CO2.  It is not economical anyway.))  And we just can't do it.  Obama gave a State of the Hoax Speech.

((Reading-Obama:  We lead nations in Green Technology.))  Do you know why Obama talks at the eight-grade level?  That is the level of intelligence that will believe him.  "We want to build stuff, sell stuff, and we want to move it."

$31.5billion was lost in Spain before Liberals were kicked out.
>>> Obama-ism fails everywhere it is tried around the world.
KFI ad for Newt:  "I'll teach them to get a job, a better job, then own the company."

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#12:  You can save by ordering now for Valentines Day
There are 16 scientists that put them names to the WSJ article—that's gutsy.

For Valentine's Day, go to www.RushBerries.com . . . [shown on DittoCam.]

Caller-VT: Market forces in medicine analogy: there are emergencies.
Since the government has taken over, the patient ability to pay and what they want are not factors.
> Without privatization hospital and doctor costs are not coming down.

_____________________________________________________________
Seg#13:  Yes, Rush Limbaugh will be voting in Florida on Tuesday
We have a lot of soundbytes from the Florida second debate.
Caller-ID: Ask candidates if they are willing to die for America. Put people first!
You might need an alternative way to judge.  Just running a campaign for POTUS is a slow death.  Given what you have said, the answer is easy:  Vote for anyone but Obama.  DbM listens to this show:  "Congressman Paul, are you willing to die for your country?"   [Rush does imitation voices of Ron Paul, Romney, Santorum, and Obama.]

Caller:  I got involved with Perot, then Gingrich.  He is so right. You are too.
Yes, I will be voting Tuesday.  Maybe my brother David will endorse.

((Clip-Palin:  The Liberal media is attacking Newt Gingrich.))  She is talking about the six items and I don't know if it was coordinated.  ((Clip-Brit Hume:  He is a fireball.  He has never been popular with the public at large.  People are looking for [smaller] government.  They do not want bigger ideas.))  Newt's negative numbers are at 60%.

Newt Gingrich wants the Florida people to rise up and make their voices known as he is attacked.
> ABC: the currant crowd shows up for Mitt and beer crowd for Newt.

_____________________________________________________________
Segment#14:     Demi Moore is getting older
Demi Moore is all over the news, breaking up with boy-toy, and breaking up herself.  Why ask me?  Snerdley is fielding calls.  She inhaled incense, not marijuana.

>>> Tweeted: My brother David (if in FL) would vote for Santorum.
KFI news: CA legislates that soon one in seven cars sold must be hybrid.

From the Rush Limbaugh Morning Update: "Tenure"
A new report from the National Council on Teacher Quality must be causing a panic out there. It says more states are looking for flexibility to fire underperforming public schoolteachers; the age-old practice of tenure is being weakened.
In Florida tenure was essentially killed with new requirements for all teachers. Those with multiple poor evaluations can be canned, and tenure-like benefits for new teachers can be denied. Colorado and Nevada passed laws to take away tenure if teachers have multiple "ineffective" ratings. Eleven states now require school districts to use performance to determine terminations. In fact, Florida, Indiana, and Michigan now require performance to be factored into salaries.
None of this is good news for teacher's unions, or their Democrat Party friends who benefit from union campaign contributions.
The unions claim removing tenure lowers morale, discriminates against older teachers, and takes away due process,  for the teachers. Tensions are at a boiling point in Idaho where the legislature ended tenure for new teachers and decided performance, not seniority, would determine layoffs. The truck belonging to state school superintendent Tom Luna was vandalized. He was interrupted during a live TV appearance by an irate opponent. A protester even showed up at his mother's house.
Fact is, states don't have the money any more to grant lifetime tenure and other union benefits. Unlike the feds, they can't borrow from China, or print dollars. So, fight as they might, and they will, the unions are on a collision course with reality. And in the end they're going to lose.  [ED: WOW .!. Rush does it again! Hear here.]

Quote Gems from Rush Limbaugh dot com:
"You know what I think Newt's next move might be? Look for Newt to offer himself as the conservative alternative to himself."

"Folks, everybody involved in politics with a vested interest has opened both barrels of the shotgun and are firing at everybody. Every Republican of note and of stature is under a full-fledged assault in this state today."
"Republicans are hit every day in the media. There's no way this can be stopped. You're just gonna have to come to grips with it. There's nothing I can do, there's nothing anybody can do to stop the media assault on any Republican candidate or high-profile personality."
"I'll bet you a bunch of people in this audience, if you ask 'em to make a bet, they would bet the Republican Party doesn't have the guts to go after Democrats the way they're going after themselves."
"Have you seen any evidence the Republican Party's willing to go after Obama like they're going after each other? I haven't."
"Gosh, I look like a carrot up there on my DittoCam TV. Look at that skin tone. It looks like I got beta-carotene and rubbed it all over my face."
"The big news today, Barney Frank, 71 years old, is gonna marry his partner. I wonder if Barney is gonna have an open marriage?"
"If the government has the power to regulate your business, you get in bed with them to limit the damage and maybe on the upside get regulations in your favor. Sadly, folks, that's the truth. That's the way it happens."
"I think people see Gingrich fighting for an ideal, and Romney fighting to get elected. I think if I had to synthesize what the campaign breaks down to, it's that."
"Remember The Today show, they used to have a feature, 'Where in the world is Matt Lauer?' We're gonna have sort of the same kind of thing, where today is Two If By Tea? And we're just having it pop up in various stores out there for the pure fun of it."
"How in the world do you get from the worst year on record to, 'Hey, this is a sign it's starting to get better!' What, is it so bad it can't get any worse? Unemployment is up, housing is through the floor, the GDP is what, the national debt is what -- and the media is telling us, 'Obama's got his swagger back, because the economy's doing so well!'"
"Every time I mention a blogger, it doesn't matter what blog site I cite, other bloggers send me e-mails saying they're phonies, they're creeps. The hatred in the blogger community is funny."
"When I was growing up, you did not talk about how much money you earned. It was the epitome of being boorish."
"The people that don't care about how they appear in the media, those are the people that are unique. Most people just live and die by the media. People in the public eye, they sweat it out."
"I need a six hour show today and I don't have the time and your station wouldn't carry it."
"You could run the government for 18 days on the combined income of the 8,274 people who make incomes over $10 million a year, which means the answer to our problem is not raising their taxes, folks."
"How high would you rank yourself on the romance scale? Snerdley, on a scale of one to ten, puts himself at a 12."

I watched the GOP presidential candidates' debate in Jacksonville. The debate was broadcast on CNN — CNN has posted the full transcript of the debate — and moderated by Wolf Blitzer, who proved to be a formidable antagonist for Newt. When Newt came at Blitzer on a question that put Newt on the defensive, Blitzer held his ground and shot back. It may have been the defining moment of the »

Obama's Misstatements on the Union
Only a president long shielded from criticism and accountability could make the kind of State of the Union speech President Obama did Tuesday night. It's hard to know where to begin, given his repetition of tired ideas from his previous SOTUs, his taking credit for successful policies he resisted and omitting failed ones he promoted, his numerous misrepresentations on issues big and small, and his glaring refusal to address the main issues that threaten the nation.

Let me touch on just a few highlights in this brief space.

Excessive spending is the primary threat to our nation's and Americans' financial future, yet Obama glossed over it and distorted his record.

He said, "We've already agreed to more than $2 trillion in cuts and savings. But we need to do more." But everyone knows he's had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the cutting table. His unrelenting passion is spending. Even The Washington Post said, "Obama does not mention that Republicans forced him to accept $2 trillion in budget cuts during the debt-ceiling impasse."

Obama said, "I'm prepared to make more reforms that rein in the long-term costs of Medicare and Medicaid and strengthen Social Security, so long as those programs remain a guarantee of security for seniors." Well, that's mighty magnanimous of him, but why is he so grudging about it? As president, he should be singularly focused on entitlement reform. Yet he has obstructed and demagogued such reforms. His condition that the "programs remain a guarantee of security for seniors" is completely dishonest, because Paul Ryan's plan did just that and he rejected it while ridiculing and demonizing Ryan.   ~~~   ~~~
